We Invite You to Relax as the Dining Room Proudly Presents a TR! *The End 12/24 Pg44*

I can feel your excitement and know that you're going to have a great time in January! I have yet to try FF but I have heard such great things about it that it is really moving up on the list! Hurrah for your favorite Disney evening! Don't you just love those perfect, magical, relaxing evenings in your favorite place? :cloud9:

I am so happy that you enjoyed Flying Fish!! I think I recommended it to you in your PTR, I really love this restaurant. :thumbsup2

The cheese and the risotto look wonderful and so does your soup. Sorry that you did not enjoy it that much. And what a shame that the servers were not as professional as they should be. :confused3
You did recommend it! Your high praise of it was one of the biggest reasons I wanted to fit it in on this trip! So thank you, it really was delicious!

The cheese and risotto and calmari were all so delicious. I dream about those three things. :rotfl2:

Yeah, sometimes they were just not as enthusiastic as they were in the beginning when we first sat down after we ordered a little of this and a little of that. :confused3

YAY for a great meal at the Flying Fish! I'm really looking forward to eating there in January!! May just have to eat there twice!!!!

Great pictures of the Boardwalk!!!! Very excited to stay there!!!
We are going to have an EXCELLENT meal in January! I really can't wait.

I'm so excited about Boardwalk, it's so pretty!

Oh, how I love seeing your pictures of Boardwalk! I really think it is becoming my next dream resort! (AKL will always be my favorite but Boardwalk is a very close second.)

The Flying Fish sounds delightful! You and Marc look so relaxed and happy in the pictures.
Boardwalk has always been high on my list to stay! I'm so excited for January.

We were both relaxed and really enjoyed this evening, it was really nice.

Great update! I've never been to Flying Fish, but I might just have to check it out now! :goodvibes
I highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

I'm really ready for January. I've been in a slump and the last week or so my excitement is really starting to build, especially when I realized that we are at less than 2 months to go!!

I really recommend Flying Fish, worth a try for sure. :thumbsup2

It really was one of those evenings that just went so smoothly, it was perfect!

I am so excited for your stay at the BWV!! Don't you just love walking around there (on the wood planks ;)) So much to see....the various acts like a magician, etc. and the lights at night are so pretty! :goodvibes I love that sign with the arrow too!

I have become such a fan of cheese plates....it is really no wonder seeing that I am part mouse  Did you try the honeycomb on that plate? Wow!!! I already had clams sitting in front of me but I almost ordered this as side dish!! :rotfl: That really stinks about the less than stellar service like you mentioned....I remember seeing the manager walking around to each table to chat with the guests....I specifically remember his name "Stig" as it is from a show that I watch on the BBC :rotfl2: I almost told him :rotfl:

Have you had the polenta master recreate the risotto for you? :goodvibes

Tracy

So not only did you forget to call/text me but you made a stop at the resort that I was staying at and I was there that day!

So many stays right there and never a meal at FF. I guess we may need to see if anything is available next trip, say in a few weeks.....
It looks yummo!

Woo hoo for your dinner at Flying Fish! I'm glad you enjoyed it and were able to relax!!

So, I'm not sure I mentioned this yet, I had to switch the March trip due to DD's school schedule. When I switched it I went with Boardwalk again! The pool slide will be open by then! I can't wait! I'm hoping to head over there on Sunday to take in the Christmas decorations and stroll the boardwalk! I can't wait!!

Did you all pay out of pocket for FF? Just wondering because I can't remember if it is a 2 credit meal or not...guess I should have looked that up first before I asked the question:rotfl:
But I would really like to just sample a few of the 2 credit restaurants like you did, just some appetizers and dessert so you're not "wasting" 2 of your TS credits. Love me some calamari! :goodvibes

LOVE the boardwalk too...we went there in 2008 and it reminds me so much of Ocean City, MD, I've been there every summer since I was about 3 and I am so excited for you and Jen being able to stay there in January...lucky lucky girls!

I am all caught up. I was way behind as I had avoided the Dis for a while because it looked like our trip wasn't going to work and it was to depressing to read about other peoples trip when I didn't think I was going to be able to go at all. Well we were able to just post pone it for a little bit and now we are going.

You really did have the perfect Disney evening! I hope you got a chance to walk around the boardwalk after dark. I love the atmosphere there.

We didn't really get to see too much night action at Boardwalk but I'm very excited to see some in January.

The cheese plates are really awesome, plus it's something that I can eat very easily so it was a good choice for us!

The polenta master has not recreated risotto yet. He has talked about it but he's nervous about it for some reason. I'm going to have to bug him again to get the stuff to make it!

So not only did you forget to call/text me but you made a stop at the resort that I was staying at and I was there that day!
I'm sorry! I thought you had left by then....:sad1:

I highly recommend Flying Fish. Were you able to get an ADR for it??

I would love to see the Christmas decorations at Boardwalk! Lucky you!!

Flying Fish is a 2 credit meal but we just paid OOP for it. I can't remember how expensive it was, but it wasn't too bad. The calamari was SO GOOD!!

I'm starving right now and that all looked yummo!!
It was seriously yummy. I can't wait to eat there again!

I hear ya, it's hard to be on the DIS sometimes when you are uncertain about your next trip. I'm so glad you were able to make it work though!! :thumbsup2

You really did have the perfect Disney evening! I hope you got a chance to walk around the boardwalk after dark. I love the atmosphere there.
It really was!! It's a great atmosphere.

BWV has become very high on my list of future places to stay. I know you and Jen are going to love it there in January. I am so glad you liked the FF and that the meal was good. I also think that Disney has to realize that there are more and more people who no longer eat regular portions of food because of weight loss surgery. They are totally accomodating to people with food allergies and other preferences (vegan, vegetarian). I bet in a few years it will be common place to be able to talk to a chef and have them make recommendations for people on restricted diets after wt loss surgery. It really shouldn't have to be a secret. OK- soap box over!

You and Jen must be getting so excited about January. I have't visited your PTR in forever so I just wanted to say that I am so excited for both of you!!!!!

The Boadwalk! I was just visiting it a few days ago and again realized why it's my favorite resort. It just has the most fantastic atmosphere. You and Jen are going to have a blast there.

My exploring helped me to decide that Jen & I made the right choice for January. I am so very excited to be staying in the Boardwalk atmosphere. Right before I met Marc my mom & I were planning a Disney trip and we wanted to stay at Boardwalk so we did a lot of research the trip never happened because I became too busy with moving to MA and such but I'm so excited we are staying there in January!! Yayayayaya! Jen, can you feel my excitement? :rotfl:

Then we ordered dessert...we decided to "be good" and get the no sugar added choice. While it was pretty, it was not very tasty. The fruit that came with it was delightful though.

The dessert sounds so good. Too bad it didn't turn out to be what it could have been.

I just put a few Boardwalk pictures up, too. Jill would really like to stay there sometime. She's always liked the Boardwalk atmosphere, as well.

You have every right to be excited.
We've made it to December, and it touches January! :cool1:

I agree with you. I'm actually surprised that Disney hasn't come up with a program for people who have had weight loss surgery. My surgeon did tell me that he has written notes for people before who have gone to Disney so they would be charged a lower price for the buffets but I don't go to enough of those to make a big difference so I haven't done it.

I can't wait! It does have a great atmosphere, it just put me in a good mood while we visiting there. I'd really love to stay there the next time Marc & I go but we'll have to see what the budget allows.

It was a very pretty dessert, just not as yummy asIwould have liked.

Saturday September 11th, Part 4.

It seems like this day is taking forever to get through but I have to say...I think it was my favorite day of the trip. Things went smoothly, it was just one of those good Disney days that are filled with magic.

Anyhoo...we left off with our fabulous meal at Flying Fish. It was so yummy. I think this is the ADR for January that I am most looking forward too.

We decided to head into the bakery to get ourselves a treat for back in the room since our dessert didn't quite hit our sweet spots. They had some fabulous treats in there! We both decided on the Cheesecake Brownie. I wouldn't mind going back to eat lunch there, they had some yummy looking sandwich wraps in the case.

We went back to the DVC gift shop right by the Boardwalk lobby to make a purchase. I wanted a Disney bag. I kept going back between two different ones. The one I ulitmately decided on was a black and white tote bag with Mickey Heads and it had a zipper. It was $19.95 and let me tell you, worth every penny! I use it everyday as a work and school bag.

After my purchase we decided to head out, we were able to get a taxi right away. There was one waiting even though we hadn't called. I love that about the deluxe hotels, they are so quick to handle the taxi situation!

Goodbye Boardwalk.

When we got back to Riverside, we cruised the gift shop and I bought some retro Disney stickers. Which I still haven't used, I should do that.

When we headed back to the room, Marc took my picture by the fountain outside our mansion.

Then a nice couple offered to take our picture together.

Marc was taking pictures of our mansion building and I told him to make sure it was straight, he has a habit of taking off center pictures....this is what I got.
DSC00734.jpg

Of course he couldn't stop laughing at his cleverness and I made him take another. Men! Pfffft.
DSC00735.jpg

I took over camera duties after that.

Our yummy cheesecake brownies. Yum!
DSC00758.jpg

If I remember correctly, we went to bed fairly early. We were tired from our long but good day. We had decided that we wouldn't be going to a park the next day. We wanted another relaxing pool day!

Coming up....
It looks like concrete!

What a great end to a great day! The more you show me pictures of the mansions the more I am intrigued. If I am ever brave enough to tear myself away from my first resort love, then I am headed that way. :thumbsup2

Love all your purchases. Very fun and unusual. How do you plan to use those stickers?

POR is quite beautiful.
And that cheesecake brownie looks so good! I wish I had one for an afternoon snack :)

That brownie cheesecake recipe was in the DVC magazine I just got the other day!!! DH says we should make it. I actually have a similar recipe and it's not hard. Maybe I'll try it!!

Awww...I just love POR, especially the mansions!! What great pictures! As of right now it's definitely my favorite resort on property! Awww...to be there right now!!

You guys look great in front of the fountain! What an awesome picture!!

Great souvies!! WOOT WOOT!
