We Invite You to Relax as the Dining Room Proudly Presents a TR! *The End 12/24 Pg44*

Oh, I LOVE mornings like that! Where you can't believe how much you've gotten done...I may not tour like a park commando all the time, but let me tell you, I love that sense of accomplishment.:thumbsup2

WOO HOO for early mornings to beat the crowds! You did great and I'm glad you decided to leave and relax - I remember that this was going to be your relaxing trip!
Great pictures! You chose a great one for your cards!
I think we should start a thread (maybe there is one) of pictures of the FL construction taken from Dumbo - maybe someone can put them into a time lapse. I could take some in March (if I can get on Dumbo - it's been a while since we rode, and I'm in the mood!)

Taking a cab to dinner eh? I'm thinking Boma but I thought you had said you didn't think you'd get your money's worth from a buffet? So where would you have made an ADR the day before???? Yachtsman's Steakhouse perhaps?

How long does the HoP show run? I can't believe you did that and all the other things in just under 3 hours!

Ohhh a clliff hanger. Can't wait to hear where you had such a great meal. Love the Christmas card picture shot.

Wow you sure did get a lot done that day!!!:faint: You absolutely deserve a break and Casey's by the pool ;)
I love your Christmas card picture!!! :thumbsup2 I remember seeing that picture...maybe on fb...and loving your shirt and the two of you together!! :lovestruc
And the picture of you and that stupid pink bear is uber cute!! :cutie:
I am going to say you took a cab to the AKL and ate at Jiko....I know that has always been on your radar...I took a lot of cabs when we were going to dinner...it allowed us to leave the hotel later and split between 3 or 4 of us it was pretty cheap. :thumbsup2 The only place I didn't care for was when we left the Swan...b/c the Swan is not a Disney hotel it was not a metered cab...it was a set price so I made sure to see what his fee was. All of the other cabs were affiliated with Disney and they were metered :)

OOOH I am so jealous of your fab morning at MK (topped off the a coke slushie...i was drooling!)

Do you know that I still have never done the Hall of Presidents? Weird since we are such history nerds

Aisling was reading over my shoulder and saw the construction photos and cried. She wasn't ready to accept that it really was all gone :rotfl2: (ya I'm laughing about my kid crying)

Wow! I can't believe how much you accomplished... all before 11am! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to find out what's next up... and where you'll be going for your favorite dining experience of the trip!!! :goodvibes

What a nice Christmas card picture! You guys look great and happy,
and with Disney stuff in the background, you look even greater and happier. :)

Have a warm, wonderful, peaceful Thanksgiving week ahead.

Love the Christmas card picture! Just perfect!

What a great morning! Low crowds at the Magic Kingdom are a special form of pixie dust, in my opinion! The construction photos make me even more excited to see what the new Fantasyland will look like when it is all finished.

I am going to guess you were headed to the Flying Fish. :goodvibes

Fabulous photo pass pictures. Your Christmas Card photo is the best one.:thumbsup2

I'm so jealous of your very uncrowded morning in the MK. Maybe once all the kids are gone we'll get to go at an uncrowded time and enjoy such good luck.

Nice relaxing afternoon. Looking forward to your favorite meal of the trip.

Wow, you certainly accomplished a lot that morning! Can't wait to hear where you were headed for dinner!

I love the MK first thing in the morning. You can get so much done in those first hours, although I will readily admit that even my love for getting stuff done won't get me there for extra magic early hours. (Especially on vacation! :rotfl: ) My body loves sleep way too much.

That is what I love about going in September!!!! Love those MK mornings like that!!!! :)

You really did get a lot done! What a great morning. Glad to hear that you got to enjoy your Slushie Coke and corn dog nuggets without any problems. :thumbsup2 And that teaser at the end makes it sound like you had more success that night!

Just a guess at were you guys are going by cab- AK Lodge?
I adore Slushie cokes. I am so ready for one in January. :lmao:

There was more success that night, you will just have to stay tuned to see where!

Holy cow! That was a busy morning. You were a smart woman to get there for rope drop! I am going to guess that you went to the Yacht Club....
It was a busy morning but it didn't feel like it at all. It was enjoyable! We had a blast.

Three things. LOVE the Christmas card photo! LOVE the cell phone background idea with The little mermaid, such a great idea! And WOW, that list is impressive, all before 10:50am?! You guys totally rocked your MK morning!!:thumbsup2
Thanks! I ordered the cards adn they should be here next week, I can't wait to see them!

I can't believe how much you got done before eleven! Crazy!

I just tried corn dog nuggets for the first time in October, and I had such high hopes...but I'm sorry to say, I didn't like them at all. They did taste like they'd been sitting out for a long time, though -- they must be much better when they're fresh!
It was a lot we got done but it didn't feel like it, we were on fire!

Oh boo to not liking the corn dog nuggets, I guess they are not for everyone!

Another fantastic update!!!! What an awesome MK morning you guys had!!! WOWzers you guys accomplished a lot and you got a Slushie Coke too!! YUMMY!!!!

Love your photopass pictures!!!! Your Christmas Card photo is so awesome! You both look fantastic!
Gotta love the slushie cokes, I can't wait to have another one. I'm drooling just thinking about them. :rotfl2:

Great update
Thanks! :goodvibes

The crowds were so low it didn't even feel like we were going park commando speed, it was truly awesome.

Wow - you guys got so much done! Can't wait to see where you head for dinner! :goodvibes
I can't wait to talk about dinner!

That is a great idea for a thread of contruction photos!

No Boma, buffets don't work because we really don't get our money's worth.

Ohhh a clliff hanger. Can't wait to hear where you had such a great meal. Love the Christmas card picture shot.
Thanks! I love the picture too, I need to get a print out of it for my living room.

Yes, it was on facebook.

Stupid pink bear is right! Oy.

I love taking cabs, well not the money spent but I like that you get to your destination faster. It was worth it for us this trip.

I will admit, I had soda TWICE this weekend. I've been craving it so bad that I caved while I was out Christmas shopping...bad LL.

Nope, not bad at all that you laugh. :rotfl2: I laugh at the kids at It's Tough to be a Bug!

Wow! I can't believe how much you accomplished... all before 11am! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to find out what's next up... and where you'll be going for your favorite dining experience of the trip!!! :goodvibes
Soon, I hope to update today or tomorrow!

I agree and a lot of people who have seen the picture catch on that it's Disney in the background.

We had a very good Thanksgiving, I hope yours was nice as well.

I really love the uncrowded times! It is worth the more untraditional vacation times in my opinion.

Me too! :goodvibes

Saturday September 11th, Part 3.
To recap our day so far, we had a wonderful morning at Magic Kingdom hitting tons of attractions all before 11AM. Then we had a nice swim at the pool, topped off with a wee little nap.

We had made these dining reservations a couple of days earlier. While we were swimming I told Marc I would be okay with going to this establishment as long as we took a cab. The thought of doing the bus shuffle to this establishment was not high on my fun list.

He agreed, so we prettied ourselves up and headed to....

(I cheated, I took this as we left but the first Boardwalk picture wasn't enough.)

See? I told you.
DSC00701.jpg

Our cab ride was uneventful, I believe it cost about $16 from Riverside to Boardwalk. I was so excited to explore Boardwalk since Jen & I have the January trip planned.

My exploring helped me to decide that Jen & I made the right choice for January. I am so very excited to be staying in the Boardwalk atmosphere. Right before I met Marc my mom & I were planning a Disney trip and we wanted to stay at Boardwalk so we did a lot of research the trip never happened because I became too busy with moving to MA and such but I'm so excited we are staying there in January!! Yayayayaya! Jen, can you feel my excitement? :rotfl:

Before too long we headed to the boardwalk. It's really simple but this picture here just makes me happy.

This sounds really simple but I never put together that the boardwalk would be wooden! Stupid of me, really but I was so excited that it was wooden. It's the simple things in life. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

So have you figured out where we were dining yet?

FLYING FISH!

Like I said in the last post, it was my favorite evening of the trip. The food was great, the atmosphere was lovely and I felt relaxed.

I loved that there was a 9/11 quote on the menu for the night.

The Flying Fish are adorable!

Who are these goofy looking people?

The only "complaint" I have of Flying Fish and some other Disney Dining establishments was that when we didn't order the app, the entree and dessert, I feel like they snubbed us a little. For instance, I ordered soup and Marc ordered risotto, then we shared a cheese plate and Marc ordered calamari as well. Then we split a dessert. I think when you bypass the expensive entrees the waitstaff gets a little ticked, we tip well! I don't get the problem.

Our bread.

Our amazing cheese plate. This thing was so good. It started a trend...
DSC00723.jpg

Marc's calamari. I really REALLY regretted not getting this for myself. It was so delicious!
DSC00724.jpg

My soup, it was a Mushroom thing and it was good, but not the best. I wish I ordered something else.
DSC00726.jpg

Marc's side of risotto aka the risotto Leslie fell in love with. I'm so glad he was willing to share!
DSC00727.jpg

Then we ordered dessert...we decided to "be good" and get the no sugar added choice. While it was pretty, it was not very tasty. The fruit that came with it was delightful though.

Our verdict was that the cheese, calamari and the risotto were all delicious. My soup was good but I think the other more delicious things overshadowed it. Marc was cleary the winner of ordering this evening. Good thing he loves me enough to share! :rotfl2:

Coming up...
The end of a perfect Disney Day.

I am so happy that you enjoyed Flying Fish!! I think I recommended it to you in your PTR, I really love this restaurant. :thumbsup2

The cheese and the risotto look wonderful and so does your soup. Sorry that you did not enjoy it that much. And what a shame that the servers were not as professional as they should be. :confused3

YAY for a great meal at the Flying Fish! I'm really looking forward to eating there in January!! May just have to eat there twice!!!!

Great pictures of the Boardwalk!!!! Very excited to stay there!!!

Oh, how I love seeing your pictures of Boardwalk! I really think it is becoming my next dream resort! (AKL will always be my favorite but Boardwalk is a very close second.)

The Flying Fish sounds delightful! You and Marc look so relaxed and happy in the pictures.

Great update! I've never been to Flying Fish, but I might just have to check it out now! :goodvibes
