My computer at home is pretty much D-E-A-D. Bah! Stupid old computer. We really need to invest in a new one but we've been focusing on paying debts off so it will have to wait a bit. Thanks for having patience with me in my slow updates!
Friday September 10th.
Before we had fallen asleep we had decided that today was going to be a pool day. Yayaya! I was very much looking forward to just relaxing! What this means for you though is a very boring update.
If I remember correctly, we didn't sleep in too much. Once I wake up, I'm awake and ready to get the show on the road. Which explains why I've been studying at 6:30AM on the weekends the last few weeks.
We got dressed and headed to the main Ol' Man River pool. We found a table, in the shade. I must be in the shade, I am not a sun worshipper. Once we were settled at our table, I decided to walk around and take some pictures.
While I was walking, I ran into Leisa, Maroo & LeeAnn again! I sat with them for a bit and chatted. It was very nice, except for the creepy birds stalking our table! Eeek!
We parted ways and I figured that I should really get back to Marc. I had been gone for over 30 minutes and I had left our table by saying, "I'm just going to get some shots of the pool". Oops.
Our hidden table.
Marc was reading and didn't seem too concerned with my long walk. If you look closely in the picture above you can see his head peeking out and his little bald spot. Shhhh, don't tell him I said that.
I was "patiently" waiting for the pool bar to open at 11 but it was taking forever. I had plans to drink my lunch! We read, we swam, we switched tables because there was a lot of slide traffic near our table.
FINALLY the bar was open!
Hello my lovely.
Marc's sour apple thingamabob.
I know we must have eaten something for lunch but I have no pictures of it. Hmmm. I think I went to the gift shop and bought some snacky things and that is what we ate. I must have thought they weren't interesting enough to take pictures of.
We had a great time just relaxing by the pool but I was ready for a nap. We packed up and headed back to the room. Our room hadn't been cleaned yet, no biggie. I took a shower and then while Marc was taking a shower I spotted the lady. She did a quick bed making and repleneshed our coffee supplies for Marc. I had just asked her for the coffee supplies by her cart but she insisted in coming in and making our beds fresh for us. She assured me I would sleep better if she did. She was really nice and we chatted while she made the beds though I felt guilty just sitting there!
Soon enough, it was nap time. I think we slept for about 90 minutes. It was wonderful!
We woke up and headed to Downtown Disney. We were lucky enough to board the slowest boat EVER. Our captain was an older lady, and she drove that boat so freaking slow! She also was very chatty. She didn't stop talking the entire way. We were both over our captain lady. She was very by the book and snapped at the other captains on the docks if they were not doing things right. Finally after the longest boat ride ever we arrived at DTD.
We had a reservation at Fulton's. We had made this last minute because I knew they had soup, so we thought it would be a good meal.
WRONG.
While the food was good, I got so miserably stuck on the stupid crackers and dip that I couldn't eat anything.
Evil Crackers.
I eat crackers all the time at home but for some reason I was stuck on these ones. That is the most frustrating thing about the band, really.
Crab & Lobster Bisque.
This wasn't good. It was too much like tomato and I wasn't expecting that from the description.
I will admit. I lost it at Fulton's. I was pissed that we were spending money on food that I couldn't eat. I was sick twice and I was just over the WHOLE food thing.
Bread & Pomegranate Lemonade.
We also had orderd the conch fritters.
These were delicious! Of course we didn't eat them until we were back in the room because I made us leave because I was so miserable. All my relaxing from the day had been ruined by the stress of dinner.
I don't honestly know if I would go back to Fulton's. Their menu offerings are just okay. I love me some seafood but I think I can get better at home but then again...I didn't eat a whole lot either. So take that recommendation how you will.
We walked around DTD for a bit...or I should say, I stomped around DTD while Marc walked. We found Haunted Mansion Life so we bought that, which brought me a little out of my funk.
With our dismal dinner and just conch fritters for later we decided to get some food to go from you guessed it...Wolfgang Puck Express. Marc had to convince me to get food. I was just going to skip eating dinner but he insisted I get something since we hadn't had a real meal all day. Marc got the alfredo and I got the roast chicken and mashed potatoes. Luckily by the time we got back to the room, I was able to eat. I think the more I get worked up about being sick, the less I can eat until I chill.
It wasn't an exciting day but it was a good day and just what we needed...minus the whole dinner thing.
Coming up...
A Very Early Rope Drop.
