We Invite You to Relax as the Dining Room Proudly Presents a TR! *The End 12/24 Pg44*

I have been enjoying reading about your trip. Your food issues sound really hard to deal with. I hope it got better for you. I am impressed that you were able to get over being mad so quickly. It takes me longer than that to get happy again.

Oh...oh...oh...my!
You had every reason to have angry eyes. Ughhhhh Men....I work with four...lets call them boys ;) and let me tell you I am well versed in angry eyes ;)

That being said I love your mansion room....so pretty and the pool looks lovely too. Now that drink....yummy!! That looked delicious!
I just love EOS and how uber convenient that you were right there able to do take out and go back to your room :thumbsup2

I'm so bummed our meet didn't work out! But, it just didn't - and it seemed like it was the best for both of us to just roll with it. Our paths will hopefully cross again at some point! I still haven't done HM. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

So sorry to hear about the whole drink/laundry/pool ordeal. :sad2: I would have reacted the same EXACT way as you. Especially with the drink, when he finally offered after you had already stood up. :headache::headache::headache: Joe pulls that sometimes too. I usually just storm off! I think it's a male thing. And the laundry deal, and you coming back to see him swimming like he doesn't have a care in the world..."the water is nice!" :scared1::mad::headache: Ooooh boy. I feel ya! You handled it so well though - and I'm happy to read that Marc got it and apologized! :thumbsup2

Wolfgang Puck. Drool. We haven't been there in the past couple trips - must in Feb/March!! I didn't realize they had meatloaf, yum!

How was your trip!!? I followed a little bit on facebook but I get on there so little lately that I'm not caught up on anything.

Okay, I should have clarified. You can't get a refill on the slushie coke, I was just using that term to describe that it's a reusable cup. SORRY! :guilty:

Nope, never been to GF before. I'm glad I made the time this trip, it is so gorgeous!!

Got the plaid shirt at Kohls, two of them to be exact.

I'll tell him you are proud but like I said before I doubt even remembers directing me to take that photo. :rotfl2:

My trip was fabulous thank you! Just what the doctor ordered :thumbsup2 Batteries refreshed for the time being!

Oh I was just thrilled that you could get the coke slushies in the reusable cups. I got the crappy little cups that are all gone in 10 seconds :headache: Good to know for our August trip!

So your lastest update totally cracks me up. I have that same meltdown every trip at some point. WHY doesn't anyone appreciate the year of works that goes into planning a Disney trip????

So glad that you got a Mansion room.

More nice photography skills by Marc. Nice that he included some light fixture shots :thumbsup2

Bummer about having angry eyes - men don't get upset the same way women do, and really don't see it when we are upset. I'd have been pretty ticked too.
Glad you were able to finally enjoy some real food!!!

I don't know how I managed to fall a couple of updates behind. I'm so glad that you got the mansion room that you had been hoping for. :goodvibes

I completely understand about the heat just wearing you down and making you cranky. I'm convinced that the heat back during my Aug. 2008 trip is why we ended up with a massive family blow-up in the middle of DHS. It just strips all rational thought from your head.

You know, I think that truly, I am more casual in my day to day life than I am on vacation at Disney.

My thought process is, when I'm gone, and all people have are the thousands of photos of me from the millions of vacations we took, I'll know I looked good!
I'd like to pretend it won't happen to you, but I don't want to disillusion you. :lmao:
I hated my hair this trip. I am determined to figure out a better style for January. I just dont' know. I always want to grow it out but I just don't think longer hair looks good on me.

I didn't try the fudge, but I had a pretty yummy pumpkin muffin the other day over at Sunshine Seasons.
Chocolate-covered strawberries are always high on my list.

Marc did a very nice job with the walking around pictures. :thumbsup2
I would love to be eating a pumpkin muffin right now!

I tried to let it go quickly because I didn't want my bad mood to ruin the trip. Usually I hold a grudge much longer. :rotfl:

I think angry eyes are just part of the deal with men. ;)

The drink was delicious and just what I needed!

I'm bummed too but I am sure that our paths will cross again someday!!

I think sometimes Marc is just so oblivious that if I don't point out to him what he is doing he just doesn't get it. Like a few days ago....I've been trying really hard to crack down on my eating so I can get my weight loss moving again. It's the end of the day, I've eaten dinner so I'm done eating for the day and I'm still a little hungry and I'm just trying to deal with it. And he goes on and on about he just hit his lowest on the scale and how he needs to get a new belt because his is too big. Under normal circumstances I'd be happy for him but here I am busting my butt at the gym and eating a lot less and the scale isn't budging and Marc is bragging. I had to point out what he was doing was not very considerate. DUH!

My trip was fabulous thank you! Just what the doctor ordered :thumbsup2 Batteries refreshed for the time being!

I'm glad your trip was good!! I thought of you while you were gone.

I know, at least with the bigger cups it takes longer to drink and it's not that much more for a bigger one than the small one.

I don't get it either. He doesn't help make decisions, he just goes and enjoys where I do all the stressing. NO MORE I tell you! No more!

I'm reading your TR but I haven't had time to post. I'm sorry, I've just been so busy lately.

Men just don't get it, period. Pfffft!!

I think the heat can really do a number on people and their moods. Proceed with caution in extreme temps! :rotfl2:

Thursday September 9th.

We hadn't set the alarm the night before since we decided we could both use a relaxing resort day.

I woke up at 7:30AM, READY TO GO!

I was full of energy and not wanting to sit by the pool.

I woke up Marc and said, "Let's go to Animal Kingdom!"

He groaned and I went to get ready. By the time I was out of the shower he was dressed, I guess he really wanted to go to AK afterall!

We probably made it to the bus stop around 8:30ish..?? I'm not 100% sure but it was a wait of a few minutes and then we had to wait for an ECV to load. As I'm looking at the woman loading, I'm like....I know her.

It was Maroo!

I searched the crowd waiting for the bus and sure enough I saw Leisa and LeeAnn too!

We were able to board the bus and as luck would have it Marc & I were standing crammed right near where Leisa & the gang were. I introduced myself to Leisa and had an DIS meet right there! It was a neat thing.

We arrived at AK and Marc & I took off into the park. We had decided to get FP's for the Safari and then head to EE. Well Leisa, Maroo & LeeAnn caught up with us and they decided to ride the Safari with us. It was a lot of fun! It was nice having a DIS meet like that.

I took camera duty since Marc had never been on the safari before.

It was a lovely ride! We saw a lot of animals, though only 1 giraffe! We did have a foreign speaking group with us on our safari and they kept standing up to get pictures and asking our driver to stop. That was a little annoying but we didn't let them rain our parade, we were having a good time!

After the safari, we split up from Leisa, LeeAnn & Maroo. I can't remember where they were headed but Marc wanted to get his EE on.

We stopped for a photopass on our way.

It was hot, so Marc got in line for a bottled water and while he was doing that I found the sweetest little spot with tables with a wonderful view of the Tree of Life.

At this point Marc was so anxious to ride EE. He was ready to encounter that Yeti. Me...not so much. I agreed to walk with him for a bit and take pictures. Soon he was speeding off and I was left in his dust. So I took pictures!

Continued from previous post...

Before I knew it, I was back at my sweet little spot, eating ritz crackers and relaxing. It was probably my favorite AK moment and it gave me a better appreciation for AK.

DSC00513.jpg

I just sat there and relaxed while Marc went on EE twice.

He LOVED it! He said it was awesome and he just couldn't wait to ride again later.

We decided to hit up the Pangani Trail. I gave Marc the camera, it was so hot and I had the bag so I thought it was fair.

At our first stop to look at animals, I found a wonderful fan to cool me off. Can you see it off to the side? I decided to hunt for fans and then enjoy the animals!

DSC00520.jpg

I love the bats! They are so cool!
DSC00521.jpg

DSC00523.jpg

I think the tigers are my favorite though. We watched this tiger climb into the water. It was so cool to see him move like that. It always amazes me how cats of all sizes move so much the same.

It's so relaxing in the bird area...except the birds. They should just go away and let me enjoy the pretty area.

After the trail we debated going on Kali but I just didn't feel like getting wet when I was wearing jean bermuda shorts.

So we meandered and I took a few pictures.

We decided to walk towards Dinosaur and then I heard the scariest words ever come out of my mouth....

"Let's ride Expedition Everest."

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

I don't know what I was thinking. Marc assured me in line that it was no worse than Big Thunder Mountain.

They offered us the front row and I declined and sat in the middle.

You know how they say a picture is worth 1,000 words? I think this picture says it all.

MARC IS A LIAR!

That ride is NOTHING like BTMRR! Nothing! I was terrified from beginning to end. Tracks moving? No thank you! Going backwards? No thank you!

I can't even begin to describe my terror. Even as I write this, my heart is thumping reliving the moments.

I will never never never never never EVER ride Expedition Everest again.

NEVER!

By the time the ride was over I was shaking, I could barely get up. When I did I just stood up and walked to the exit, kept walking right through the gift shop and just sat.

Marc finally found me after he took the picture, laughing his head off at me. Which I did not find charming. He asked me if I saw the Yeti. I said no. He said it practically swiped my head, I think he's lying to me but I have no recollection of it whatsoever.

Never again.

Marc asked if I would ever ride it with my future children, I said no. Never again. I will not put myself through that torture again.

So there you have it....I hate Expedition Everest. :rotfl2:

Coming up...
You are kidding, right

:lmao: Oh how funny! My kids did the same thing to me and said EE was just like BTMRR just a little longer. I was screaming the whole time "You're dead! You're dead! I'm killing you when I get off this thing!" Never again for me either. :sad2:
How cool to have a DIS meet unexpectedly. :woohoo: Great shoots from the safari. :thumbsup2 Do you use a DSLR? If so what kind, I really need to upgrade from my little point and shoot.

 Love the EE picture! EE is nothing like BTMR.

What a great spot you found in AK to chill out for a bit.

I love you Chip and Dale shirt. Where did you get it? I keep seeing one at JCPenny for DD but she is getting to the age where she won't always wear stuff she doesn't like so I haven't bought it. I wish they had the shirt in womens sizes.

I love your Tiger pictures. Every time we have seen them they have been laying against the wall like in your last shot. They are never actually moving.

The group on the safari asking the driver to spot would have really annoyed me. Doesn't the driver start the whole thing with the speech about how he won't stop but will slow down, etc?

:rotfl:EE is definitely not for everyone!! Sounds like you had a wonderful AK day. Love the pictures (esp. the tigers...my cat, Flounder, does the paw thing, too!).

It was NOTHING like BTMRR. He's a big liar. I will never go on it again but at least I can say I did it once.

I don't use a DSLR. I actually use a Sony point and shoot that has the panoramic feature. I love love love the camera, I sold my bigger camera and bought this smaller one. It's awesome and pretty affordable. I could tell you the exact model when I'm home.

I bought the Chip & Dale shirt at Walmart, I think all of my character shirts are from Walmart on this trip.

I loved that the tiger was moving, it was nice to see. Though I can't blame them for laying around, it was so hot!

Our driver did do that spiel but I don't think they listenend. I could tell he was frustrated but he handled it well.

:rotfl:EE is definitely not for everyone!! Sounds like you had a wonderful AK day. Love the pictures (esp. the tigers...my cat, Flounder, does the paw thing, too!).
Nope, it is not for me. I think people are brave who love that kind of ride but I'm too big of a wimp for sure!

Hehehe, I love that your kitty does the paw thing too. My Sully Kitty looks like a lion or tiger anyways so it makes me giggle to see the tigers and think of how Sully moves the same way just on a smaller scale.

Oh gosh, your EE picture! I love it but it's definitely not for everyone...my mom, for one, will sometimes ride it then wonder why she does that to herself. At least now you know you're not missing out by not riding it!

I love watching the big kitties. I can't have cats but I love being over the houses of people who do have cats because I love watching them. My B/F showed me a YouTube video not too long ago...the head zookeeper of some zoo put catnip in paper bags and gave it to the big kitties (they were always asked if the big cats liked catnip) and they LOVED it! It was the cutest thing ever to watch.

I really like the view of the Tree of Life you found. You got some great pictures. Speaking of pictures, that EE pictures is great. It certainly tells a story. :rotfl2:

It's so relaxing in the bird area...except the birds.
:rotfl:This just cracked me up!!

HOLY HANNAH - that was brave/crazy of you! Now you're done. Good for you.
I believe I would look much the same as you if I ever for some unknown reason attempted to ride EE. No thank you. Although I don't believe anyone in my family would want to ride it, so I won't get asked!

ETA - your pictures are beautiful!! So clear and sharp!

Wonderful TR I read it all today so I am caught up and cant wait for the next installment.

great update! i am an animal lover so th AK is definetly one of my favorites. i could just watch the tigers all day. the EE picture is great :). its true, EE is not for eveyone, but at least now u can say that you rode it. the safari is one of my favorite rides in WDW. the annoying group of people can be very frustraiting. on my last trip, there were these women sitting next to me and every time there was an animal on there side of the truck they would jump up to try and get pictures and always get im my way. very annoying!

the little spot you found near the Tree of Life is fabulous. your pictures are great too! cant wait to read more :thumbsup2
