Day 4, August 10

Embarkation Day


We will be up early again, load up the car

and drop off our Owner’s Locker box before we will head to Downtown Disney. I hope we can talk Jeff into having breakfast with us at Wolfgang Puck’s Express,

before it is time to hit the road and drive to Port Canaveral.

We should arrive there at around 11am, will drop off our luggage and head to the rental car agency to drop off our rental.
If it does not take too long, we will take their shuttle back to the ship and check in. Nice perk of being platinum, we won’t need to wait for a boarding time, we can get on board whenever we want.

Once on board we will either first head to Enchanted Garden to have some lunch

or to the Royal Court to change our dining rotation seating. And if we have successfully done both, it will be time to find our stateroom.

This will be the first time we will not be on the “top” deck, but when we decided to go back to back, rates for deck 10 to stay in the same stateroom were out the roof. Hopefully some of our luggage will have arrived by then and so we can unpack, sit out on the veranda and just enjoy ourselves.
At 4pm we will need to head to the Safety drill,

but once that is over we will just sit on our veranda until the sail away party is in full swing and we are about to sail away. That is when we will head to the top deck to wave to the “onlookers”.

Once we are out at sea,

we will explore the ship a bit, maybe have a drink and then get back to our stateroom to change and head to see “A Fantasy come true” in the Walt Disney Theatre.

And after the show we will stop at our stateroom before it will be time to head to our assigned restaurant of the day for dinner.

I guess after dinner we will be done and just head back to our stateroom, sit out on the veranda for a bit before we go to bed.

Well, I hate to admit it, but you are absolutely right. I cannot wait to get back onto one of those cruise ships. Even though I am so looking forward to meeting some of our friends again.

Great plans for embarkation Day!!!!! I am not sure I realized you could get lunch at one of the restaurants on embarkation day !!! We just headed up to Cabanas !! That buffet was wonderful though !!The asparagus was to die for !! I ate most of it on my way back to our tables

We always have lunch at the Enchanted Garden - the buffet is the same, but you are assigned a table and don't have to get your own drinks. So much more relaxed ....... oh, and I always have some asparagus too. It is just too yummy!

Yes, you pick up your food from the buffet, but you are seated and your drinks are served.

Don't worry, your DCL booklet will be there before you know it. How many more cruises before you hit gold?

OH! Yummy dinner at the Wave! I am trying to put together an ADR wish list for January. I forgot to add that!!!

I bet your sail away day is so fun... so exciting to have the entire cruise ahead of you and to wave to the people on the shore.

Sept. will be our fourth cruise, so we will have to find the time and money to cruise a couple of more times to take advantage of the Gold status.

Okay, that means you are two cruises away from Gold. That's not a lot.

I am sure there will come the day when you will take your grandkids on a cruise.

I just realized that I used the wrong word , confirm, not change. I did call and ask for a table for two (I don't care what rotation they put us in I'll have a second cruise right after and will be able to get whatever tickles our fancy by talking to the head server. All I want to do is go there to confirm we got it.
We have met the nicest table mates, but we have come to the conclusion that we really like to eat at our own pace (Europeans have a habit of eating very slowly) and therefore the table for two should work nicely.

Yes, boarding whenever we arrive will be nice. I am so looking forward to any new perks that being Platinum holds.

Day 5, August 11

Day at Sea

We will sleep in a little and once we are presentable, we will head to the Royal Court for breakfast.

Can’t beat Eggs Benedict

to start off your first cruise day, can you? We will then go and explore the ship,

do a little shopping and maybe sign up for some tastings.
Not sure if the Captain’s reception for returning cruisers in the morning, but there is room for it, either morning or afternoon. For lunch we will head back to the Royal Court,

as you cannot beat being served.

In the afternoon we will go and see the “Anyone can cook” presentation

and maybe we will even make it to a movie.
In 10 cruises we have never made it to one, so maybe there is a chance. I am sure there will be a drink or tasting,

and/or some nice coffee concoctions as well.
In the late afternoon we will return to our stateroom for a little down time and a room service snack and then get ready for “Aladdin” the musical. I hope we will score a balcony seat and enjoy the show from up there.
After the show we will have to quickly change into more formal wear and head to our rotation restaurant for dinner.

After that we might walk off a few of the calories by enjoying the upper decks at night

before we call it a day.

The Aladdin show in DCA is my favorite disney show... I wonder is the one on the cruise the same? Similar? Disney entertainment sure can't be beat, so I am sure it is good no matter if it isn't the same show!!

Love the food pics...and even though I am eating my lunch while at the computer... your pics make me want something else to eat. (I guess a frozen meal just doesn't compare. )

We have seen Aladdin at DCA too! Can you say AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! From what I have read about it, it should be similar and I cannot wait to see it.
The shows on board are just great. That is something Disney does REALLY REALLY well.

Just wait for more updates, as I have more "food loaded" updates.
