Whoopee, another cruise booked already

The Med itinerary looks wonderful

I think we picked quite a nice itinerary. Leaving from Venice, Greek isles and back to Barcelona, best of both worlds.

Oooohhhh....that cruise sounds wonderful Karin!!!

I am really looking forward to it. I guess this is going to be another epic trip report then.

Oh, You will love that cruise! I did an 11 night Med in 2010 and it was fantastic!

I knew when I saw the new iteneraries you and Tom would book one of the Med. cruises! How exciting!

The itineraries were too good to pass up. I really don't know what I am most excited about - our back to back this summer or the Med cruise.

It was a wonderful cruise. It is such a shame that they end SO soon. We were on deck 10 in "Stitch's" stateroom 10626 (you know, experiment 626 )

The cruise sounds wonderful! Hope you and Tom are enjoying yourselves!!

We had so much fun and the WDW part was awesome too. We did take it pretty slow and not spend to much time at the parks, but it was wonderful.

Wonderful to hear you were one of the first to book one of the new itineraries. We too booked the first day - the Transatlantic - we are so excited.
Now I know you must be making other plans - you usually take a month´s vacation in Summer - we know how you love to tweak your plans.

We watched you sail out on Sunday - thought I glimpsed you on the top deck.

I am SO jealous that you will be on the TA!!!!! That must be so awesome. Lucky girl.
We actually talked about 2014's summer vacation and so far we will fly to Venice 2 days early, then after the cruise will stay in Barcelona for 2 - 4 days. Tom will take 6 weeks off as we intend to drive to Paris for about 2 weeks lateron.

Carole, we so missed the ship sailing out. We ended up sitting on our veranda for the rest of the channel. Don't know how it happened, but when we looked we were already past Fishlips.

Getting home and right back to work, was so no fun. But at least we had a fantastic time and are planning more fun for our summer vacation.

We had such a great time. Lots of fun on the ship and then at WDW. I would just wish time would not fly by so fast when you are having fun.

Thank you! We did have such an awesome time. It was wonderful to spend some more time with old and new DIS friends.

You know, Tom has come up with the idea of trying to cruise the Med sometime, but I was so hesitant, as I just can't give up DCL. Now, when the new itineraries came out the Venice to Barcelona cruise caught our eye and once we had gotten over the initial "price" shock we were happy to snatch the 10% discount when booking while on another cruise.

It took me a while, but I am back and I have quite a few news to tell you all.

I have some news to share with you all, concerning our summer vacation.

Let's start at the beginning of our vacation.

Today I changed our flights to Orlando in August. Something "possessed" me to check airfare for our summer flights as there is lots of talk about airfare on the Med 2014 thread. So I thought, why not check out United and see if they fly for less than Lufthansa. And yes, they did! Not the direct flight, but one with two stopovers and considerably cheaper.
While playing around on the site I accidentially checked business class and it was VERY affordable. Two stopovers, but still worth to consider. I could even get two out of three flights on Lufthansa.
But there is one huge disadvanage by booking with a US carrier. If something should happen and we would be stranded, a European carrier needs to take care of you (hotel, food aso) while a US carrier doesn't have to.
So I went over to Lufthansa to check their business class prices and was as they offered nearly the same price as United AND for the non stop flight from Frankfurt. Tempting.
So, since I had booked really cheap flights with some restrictions I was not sure if we could upgrade or not. Well, I went to bed thinking that it was just not in the cards.
This morning I looked again and low and behold they had two seats on both flights left, so I called .........

and now we are flying

BUSINESS CLASS!!!!!!! Still have to go back to the reservation and check if I am not dreaming, but it's still there.
So, watch out - they REALLY have yummy food in business class.


Next news ............
Our friend Jeff,

who had given us hope that HE would make it to WDW while we are there, let us know that he will take his whole family on vacation there.

We will only have two days together, but it should still be lots of fun. And guess what, for one of the nights we have another Wishes fireworks cruise booked.

Jeff and his family and Michelle and her family

will come with us to share the fun! This is going to be so awesome.

News number three ......

More DISmeets - hopefully we will get to meet Jeanette (pas130) and we will definintely get to meet our friends Teresa (Teri1) and Mick (who should be grandparents by then ) when they arrive at WDW at the beginning of September.

And news number four .......

For years I have followed Stefy and Dave's WDW adventures.

They are both from London and we have always wanted to meet each other. This summer it is finally working out!
Their first full park day will be our last full park day of that vacation and we are going to have dinner together at Jiko, and then head over to Epcot for EMH. Should be the perfect ending to a perfect vacation!

I am not even worried about the flight home ...... I will have a comfortable seat with loads of leg room to sleep in.

Same thing happened to us! On our February flight in 2009 we were upgraded to business class and it was AWESOME. Unfortunately the prices Lufthansa usually charges are SO high. I could not believe the great rate we scored for business class this time. Even the Lufthansa rep on the phone was surprised.

Oh.My.Goodness! Business Class!! WTG!! LOVE LOVE LOVE BC...no other way to travel on transatlantic flights - of course, we've only had the privilege once....but oh my...how wonderful. So happy for you and Tom!

How about those DIS Meets! Very exciting!! Any chance you could squeeze in one more?

Wow...you had great news to report this week.

Congrats on the business class. DISmeets and a fireworks cruise...sounds wonderful...fun, fun, fun!!! I spoke to Jeff two weeks ago and I guess his plans changed since we talked. He told me that he and Lily were going to WDW and the kids were going to his brothers. I'm happy that the kids are going and you will get to see all of them. All this talk about DISmeets makes me sad that we will not get to see you this summer, it would have so nice to be there at the same time as you and Jeff.
