DF and I went to tour the site where we want our recetion and ceremony (no Disney wedding for us for many reasons but we are Disneymooning). i knew all along that it was where i wanted to have my wedding but he needed the piece of mind or somethng :) here is the link http://www.thecastleatashleymanor.com/

it is even more gorgeous in person and i am SUPER excited! so excited in fact that the dancing banana must make an appearance

the date is very tenatively set for may 30, 2008, we just have to discuss with my parents and his parents. however there is a small issue that isn't really an issue i just like to make things more complicated than they need to be :) ok..my little sis (MOH), myself, and my cousin (BM) all graduate that may, my sis from HS and my cousin and i from college. DF wants to move the wedding to Thurday the 29 which is the day after my sis graduates. it shaves a good chunk off of the price and my family will aready be here but do you guys think it would be better to have the wedding on Friday night instead of Thursday night? it just feels kind of weird to me to have it on a thursday...:confused3 any help would be appreciated! :grouphug:

I got married on a Thurs.....I say if it helps with all the planning & so on...go for it....cause friday will bump up the price

BTW: I LOVE THAT CASTLE!!!!!!!

Talk about a fairytale setting...its awesome:thumbsup2

Congrats on the up coming wedding

What a gorgeous place to get married!!! Good for you.
As for the day, if your family will be here anyway, why not go for the less expensive night? You won't know the difference - you will just know happieness.

that castle is stunning!!!! as far as the day of the week, we are getting married on a Wednesday ( Halloween) and we couldn't be happier :goodvibes if it saves you money and it's not a problem with your nearest & dearest - then go for it! and those saved $$$$ can be put to good use elsewhere...

have fun with all your planning..it'll be here before you know it!

thanks everyone! i knew from the minute they started building that castle i just HAD to have my wedding there :cloud9: and speaking of which i officially booked it today for friday may 30, 2008. deposit is down and there is no turning back now! :thumbsup2

that place is gorgeous. my only suggestion is to make sure you sister is ok with it. otherwise she may feel like her accomplishments are being overshadowed by her big sister's wedding. but if she's ok with it, go for it!! congratulations!!!

so...i think i kind of jumped the gun a little by booking my site so early lol. now i am afraid to start anything else because it is too early if that makes any sense. how early is too early you know? :confused3

so far all i have come up with is that i want pink...like a pastel pink as the main color theme with silver accents. oh and we want our theme to be "happily ever after" (original i know ;) ) i have been scouring davids bridal's website and i have a few dreses in mind but i def. dont want to start trying them on until i've lost a pound or 20 :) waiting is frustrating! of course i say that now...but this time nxt year i will be kicking myself for sure!

I know my co-worker has booked her site already and bought her dress. This is all she's done so far, but I think she's looking at Photographers too about now. We're in philly, so things get booked early here.

It depends how much time you will have in the next year. She's a sales rep and works alot so starting ealry is good for her.

Just thought I'd give my two cents!
