We have never eaten a thing in AK - suggestions please

I am trying to decide on a late breakfast or early lunch in AK. Does anyone have any suggestions or favorites? We have a 3 & 4 year old so character meals are always good...just curious what you suggest. I am open to CS or TS, as we have never done either. We plan on getting there in the morning and staying until mid afternoon. We have dinner planned at Kona that evening so I am not sure how heavy we want to eat at AK. Help me please

I can recommend the character breakfast, we had ours at Donalds Breakfastosaurus last October but I believe it has changed over to the Tusker House (I think) but it sounds very much the same from what I have read, we will certainly be doing it again next time.

We have always done Flame Tree Barbecue for counter service and really love it. We are trying Yak & Yeti this year for a table service. We've never dined at any of the other AK places because we don't like Disney pizza and we are not fond of Rainforest Cafe.

We had a delicious (but HUGE) lunch at Yak and Yeti last week. We had an awesome server and yummy food but it was a LOT of food.
Also, I was surprised when our server told us they are not owned by Disney but by the group that owns RFC

My daughter ordered the ribs and it was way, way too much. She liked the ribs but mostly just ate the fried rice, which she LOVED.

i'd suggest going to the character breakfast at Tusker House. For a CS i recommend Flame Tree. -great ribs.

I'll second (or third) the Flame Tree recommendation. The food's pretty good, but I enjoy the seating area the best, down by the water. On our last visit there, Goofy and Pluto came by on a boat while we were eating! And you get a great view of Everest.

Just watch out for the birds -- get a covered table!

I just hung up with dining and made an ADR for Tusker House breakfast at 10:00AM (which was my first choice)! Thank you all for the suggestions. We'll have to try Flame Tree for a light snack perhaps - sounds like a nice place to rest.

My wife and I took our5 children to Tusker House this past June and really enjoyed it. The food was great and the little ones had many choices. WE had a Waiter named Dave and he was great and really made our meal something special.

with kids I like Pizzafari...it's indoors (ie air conditioned) the individual pizzas are big... I always split them between 2 kids. If you're on the DP there is no pizza on the kids menu not really sure why?

They have nice sandwiches too.

I love flame tree...but the kids don't

You'll love it! Great choice for food for kids and even better for adults, plus the wonderful character breakfast with music and dancing up and down the aisles. So much fun!

Another vote for Flame Tree. (Hate to lose morning cooler toureing hours for breakfast ). Love the ribs and the chicken. Hmmm, had chicken last time, must be ribs next month!!

I hear good things about Tusker House breakfast (TS) although I have never eaten there. Our fav is Flame Tree BBQ for lunch (CS). It is great BBQ and good portions as well.

Flame Tree Barbeque.

It is in our opinion the best CS at any of the Disney parks.
