As others have mentioned the "Depreciation Value", for me this is only a factor if I plan on keeping it for a short time only. (i.e. couple of years). Maybe $32K is a "Small Amount" to some, but not to me. Even if I were spending over $130K. The TAX alone is also a factor. It was mentioned that the difference in Blue Book on a 2016 to 2015 was ~$17.5K Given that fact, you are still ahead by close to $15K by taking the 2016 model over the 2017.
Obviously this is a personal choice. If the options are essentially the same and the difference in blue book isn't an issue, then I'd go with the 2016. If the value is more of a concern, maybe lean to the 2017.
Also, I am not so sure even the Tire Date codes is that much of an issue for me either. (unless of course they are even old for a 2016, but then that could be a bigger issue with the dealer). Again, using the savings minus depreciation giving you a Positive of ~$15K, if you had to buy all new tires.... What's that going to cost? $5K? (Probably much less) Still ahead.
So if I planned to keep it for MANY MANY MANY years to come, I would go with the savings deal. Your Mileage will certainly vary with your needs/wants/desires
