We have ME, but don't want to use it - what to do????

We will only be checking one bag and would rather pick it up ourselves. Can this be done before we board the bus to the resort? First trip and we have no idea what to do. I've been reading way too many problems with ME that we would rather not even bother

The reports of ME have gotten much better. If you don't put the tag on your luggage you can pick it up yourself.

Yes you can pick up your own bags and take them to the ME bus with you, just dont put the yellow ME tags on them. We didnt get tags and wanted to save the hassle so we pick up our bags then got on the bus.

Yes, you still have to arrange for ME whether or not you are picking up the bags.

According to a ressie CM I spoke to last week, this is not correct. He said ME accepts "walks ups," as long as you have confirmation of a resort reservation. He added Disney isn't advertising this.
