A friend of my DS16 was thrown out of his house this morning by his parents after an argument he had with his father. His father told him to never come back and locked him out of the house. He came to our house (about a mile away). I made him call his mom so that she would know where he is and that he was okay. I guess he will be with us for a little while until whatever they were fighting over blows over.

what a kind and generous person you are......glad to know he is safe....

Thank you for taking him in. It could mean the difference to him.

What a kind and giving thing that is for you to have done.

I echo that sentiment. Thank you for taking him in.

What kind of father throws thier child out of the house. And right before Christmas....How sad.

I agree... you are so nice to take him in. I also think it is sad that he was thrown out by his dad, especially so close to Christmas.

Glad he has a place to be and that Mom knows he's safe. Hope things get better by Christmas.

How sad!!! Shame on the father for doing that, no matter what , you don't throw a child out of the house. Thank you for taking him in, I'm sure the father will be pretty embarrased after this.

You are very generous. That boy won't forget what you're doing for him. :)

How kind you are. Is this the same boy who was left alone for a weekend?

I am so glad that you were able to be a safe harbor for this young man. That being said.. since I do not know the entire story surrounding his being tossed from his home, I will reserve my opinion of the father. Some teens deal better with adults other than their own parents. I asked my son to leave our home after a huge argument that was the result of other problems. It was horrid and painful for the entire family. He was able to stay with another family while we held a truce before he returned home. Now that he is 22, It helps to know that we were forgiven for our mistakes as parents as he was forgiven for his mistakes as a teen. Best wishes for a good holiday for you all.

What a kind soul you are. :) How sad...when I have kids, no matter how bad they are, I could never imagine myself throwing them out in that manner.

Im glad he felt that he could come to you and have a safe place to stay! We had a boy come stay with us earlier this year too, its hard on everyone, but it is very rewarding too to be able to help someone out. I hope he can work things out with his family before Christmas, but if not, thank goodness for people like you that are willing to help out!!

We have been the hang out for waywards in the past too. Once it was a situation like you discribe, and once it was a friend of DS whose mother passed away and whose father lived in another state. He became almost like a foster child to us. I hope he can think of your household as stable. We made sure that they had to follow our rules though, and cleared things with the parents.

So glad that he felt like he could come to you! {{{{HUGS}}}}

That's true Christmas spirit......your a very wonderful person to do such a selfless thing...I hope he is able to enjoy the season...and his dad gets some concience....

How kind of you to take this boy in, kteacher. I hope he reconciles with his parents before Christmas.

I am also hoping he reconciles before Christmas so he can spend the holidays with his family. I told him he is welcome to stay as long as he needs as long as it didn't create more problems with his family. I went out today and got him a few things to put under our tree in case he is here Christmas morning so he would have some gifts to open.
