We haven't been to Universal in 24 years, but will be going this March...squeezing in a day between WDW and our Disney Cruise!!:yay:

We know nothing of Harry Potter, never read the books, seen the movies etc..:scared1:. Everything I've been reading on Universal always talks about HP.

So, we've decided to watch all the movies over the Christmas Break so we'll be informed and prepared for our trip!! LOL!

I'm just so organized....:dance3:

What a fun thing to do!

You could also throw in other Universal films as well to prepare yourselves. Jurassic Park. ET. The Mummy! :)

The books are better, if you get a chance to read them too!!!

i'm not a parry hotter fan.
have not read the books or done the movies.

but, i thoroughly enjoyed that section of the park!
the theme was brillant, the rides were fabulous, the tm's in that section were wonderful and stayed in character.

i did not find i was 'lost in potterville' going in as a virgin.

you'll have a great time in the park!!

Wife and I are up to the 6th movie in our marathon (will finish that one today). Will take in #7 tonight and #8 tomorrow during our flight to Orlando.

As for reading the books, we both haven't, but are accompanied by son and GF. Both have read the books and viewed the movies several times, and seem to have total recall of the most obscure trivia.

I'm pretty sure they will keep us entertained while in the many queues!

So funny we are doing the same thing. We are squeezing in the US after a disney cruise and I picked up the complete series on DVD from amazon for $25. I think it is missing the last one but I figure if we get through all of the others I will go get it.

The books on tape are pretty entertaining, too. We like to listen to them on long car trips. A nice alternative when my son was too young to read. :)

I also agree the books are so much better. I resisted the whole Harry Potter thing for years and thought I hated the moves. My oldest two grew up with Harry and were right about his age when the first book came out. My daughter who is two years younger caught up pretty quicky. They loved the books and we were there at midnight picking up when the later ones were released. I finally decided to read them and I was hooked. Love the movies, but love, love, love the books. I cannot encourage you enough to read them. I have now read the whole series three times and will definitely read them a few more.

We visited WWOHP two weeks ago and I was probably more excited than my kids. We were all really impressed and waiting on baited breath for the expansion.

:yay:We're up to movie #3! Maybe #4 tonight, we'll see!

I do want to read the books as well, but I'll leave that until after our trip, there just isn't enough time beforehand.;)

I am enjoying them so far, a bit too fantasy for my normal tastes:confused3 but I'm just trying to go with it! At least I'll know what things/people are!:goodvibes:goodvibes

I've seen all the other Universal movies, so were good there!:yay:

Oh I hope you survived watching both *in a row* without dehydration from tears!!!

Whoops, re-read...hope you survived crying at night, then on the flight during the day! (I can't even think about #7, book or movie, without starting to tear up)

It's amazing how knowing the full background can help the enjoyment of the movies!

Heehee - I love the voices the gentleman uses. (Can't remember his name).

I love the movies but have yet to read a book. I really should I suppose. I really, really enjoyed the WWoHP and while I don't think that reading the books or watching the books is really necessary I do believe that it enhances the experience.

Finished #5 last night!!

I missed the ghost in the bathroom on this one...Mary? I get a giggle out of her!! I loved the bath scene where she's flirting with Harry, cracked me up!

I don't know why, but I'm not trusting the new girl...Luna. I just love her hair, but there's something about her I don't like.

My daughter only borrowed the first 5 from her friend, I'm hoping we can get the other two!! Can they be found online at all?:confused3
