Unfortunately my FIL went into cardiac arrest last Thursday night. Thank goodness they were able to revive him and he is now doing well. :goodvibes We had to cancel our trip for this week and I am now trying to figure out when we can go. I know Spring Break starts around the middle of March and goes through April. I have seen that some schools (including some here in AZ) are the week of the 10th. So which week would be better crowd wise:

March 9-14 or April 27 - May 2rd?

Thank you!

From what I have read, I think your April/May dates would be much better crowd wise.

Glad he's doing better. I agree, I think the April/May dates will be less crowded for you.

I'm so glad he's recovering. I would take the later date.

So sorry you had to cancel your trip, especially for such a scary reason! We also had to cancel our first ever trip, so I know how hard that is. I'm so glad you're able to reschedule, though! :thumbsup2

Definitely avoid the spring break crowds! And actually, we will be there the April/May dates you mentioned. :rotfl:

Thank you guys for the kind words (and advice). I am trying not to be selfish, but I am SOOOO disappointed. I saw the picture of the Monte Cristo in the other thread and all I can think of is that we had a PS at Cafe Orleans tonight! :sad1: But I am so glad FIL is doing better and so very thankful it happened before we left.

Well that Monte Cristo will still be there when you go. I'm glad to hear he's recovering. And you're right....it's a good thing it happened before you left. Just think, you have more time to plan and read the boards until then.

You are absolutely right -- thanks! :goodvibes

For some reason I thought the 5 day for the price of 3 tickets had to be used by the end of April. I see that the first day of use must be by April 24th. So I may have to move it up a few days.

End of April is better for sure. I'm so glad your FIL is doing better, but don't feel bad for being disappointed. That's only natural!!

Gosh- there's nothing selfish in wishing your FIL didn't get sick! And perfectly natural to be dissapointed too. Best wishes for your FIL's full recovery, and a magical trip when you are able to reschedule.

Thanks again for everyone making me feel better! :grouphug:

Ok, so now we are thinking about leaving this weekend and being at the parks the 2nd through 6th. :woohoo:

Next week I would think would be ok with crowds. Or should we still wait until the end of April?

If it were me I'd go next week. Since I am not a HUGE ride person I'd rather be at Disneyland earlier with a few more crowds than later with lesser crowds. I'm an impatient person and I like being at Disneyland just to be there!

We are going next week. 4 through 8. I am soooo excited. The hours are short, so I am hoping the crowds will be a little low before the spring break rush. We are going with a big group and about half of them haven't ever been or haven't been in about 25 years!!

So glad your FIL is doing better.

The weather according to accuweather is supposed to be great. I would highly recommend going. :rolleyes1 Especially since you were all set to go anyway.

We have just been in the a similar situation, although with a less happy outcome. As a result, we moved our March trip, which was supposed to be surprise celebration into April as you are planning (just a little earlier), and trip wise, I think it will be better. The Spring break crowds will have moved on. Also, it will now act as something of a recovery trip, especially for my children - best of all, they know nothing about it and won't till we leave.

So have a wonderful time!

I am so sorry. :sad1: We hadn't told (and still haven't) our daughter yet either, thank goodness. I hope you have a wonderful trip when you do go. :wizard:
