Or I should say my DD got her Wish! :thumbsup2
Our 3 yo DD was born with a CHD and had her open-heart surgery last summer and w2e just found out that she got to make a wish and she wanted to meet Mickey Mouse! So now we're going in early December and we're SO excited!! :woohoo:
After finding out I've become a bit of an addict (I get addicted to things like this, strollers are another of my intense hobbies, lol) and now I scour all kinds of websites and boards for more information about WDW. And I found this board and I gotta say: I like! :worship:
We get to stay at Give Kids The World (an amazing place!!! check it out by googling if you want) and so where to stay is not something we need to plan. A two bedroom, two bathroom villa! We get 3 parkhopper passes to Disney, 2 days Universal and one SeaWorld. I was planning on starting with Universal, then SeaWorld to end with the most exciting WDW. Do you think that's a good plan?
Also we will be bringing our 18 month old DS with us too and I've been really recomended to bring them home for a nap every day. How late do you think the two of them can stay up in the evening after a good nap and not be pooped the next morning (maybe this is something I should test out *before* we leave?)?
Anyways, sorry for my rambling, just over-the-top excited and giddy!!!! :yay:
Thank you for any input!! :)

that is great. My niece was born with HLHS (hypoplastic left heart syndrome) and my brother and sister-in law anticipate that she will also choose the mouse. I anticipate going with them as well.

I am so thankful to hear that your daughter's surgery went well and that she will get to visit MICKEY.

I think your order of parks makes a lot of sense. My kids needed a break during the day. Who are we kidding, I needed a nap during the middle of the day.

I would practice a schedule before I went and then keep that schedule while you are there. My kids always did best when we had a schedule. The few times I was tempted to "stretch" their nap or bed times were when they had catastrophic meltdowns.

You know your kids best, listen to your gut, and then do what works best for you.

Whee! I am so happy for you and yours.

My nephew had cancer and his wish was for a baby grand piano. He beat the cancer and he plays that piano every day. Make a Wish foundation is simply one of the BEST charities in the world.

hugs,

:welcome:

congratulations on your trip party: . Make sure that you take lots of pictures and video! Have lots of fun and enjoy this wonderful happy moment with your family. Only you will be able to tell how long your children will be able to stay at the parks. You know their little quirks and how they will react the next day and face it, you know how your own patience will be for coping if they are a little out of sorts.

Again, welcome, have fun planning and enjoy your trip!

I too am glad the surgery went well

and have a magical trip!:thumbsup2

Ohh..so excited for you and your family!! The naps will be smart, and make for less stress throughout the days :) They'll let you know when they are ready for bed :)

We have friends at church that have a DD with Retts syndrome and they were granted a Disney Wish. They stayed at the same place and loved it. I think they only had tickets to WDW, but had a great time making memories. Their kids were also given lots of Disney gifts and goodies. Going in early December the park hours should be shorter and the weather much nicer so you may not need breaks back to the room. We always let the kids sleep in the stroller during the day when they needed a nap and didnt actually leave the park. Your situation may be different, though, depending on if you DD tires easily and such. We went to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party during that time and loved it. It is a seperate ticket, though. Enjoy all the decorations and music of the Christmas season. Have fun and take tons of pictures while you are down there!!

Yay!! I'm so happy for you and your family!!

Have a magical time!!!!:yay:

Congrats! I had a wish granted to me too. WDW is extra magical on a wish trip!

If you lose your link can't find the Wish Tripper Community Board thread, you can find a link to it in post # 3 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread, stuck near the top of the disABILITIES Board (there is a link to the FAQs thread in my signature).
There are also other resources that might be helpful, like a link to the Give Kids the World site, past trip reports, etc.
