We Got No Troubles; Life Is The Bubbles! 04/18 - Complete!

Wow. It's past time for an update. Today is my day off and it's very windy and rainy, not nice ay all so it's a good time for Dis.

Eta: Warning! Long update ahead! I didn't realize how long it was until I started posting! I was due for a long one.

Before I start I just want to share a few Photopass pics from our Hoop Dee Doo night that I forgot to upload before the last one!

There! All caught up!

Friday, September 21
"O! Canada! And The Rest of the World."

We were up at 8:15 this morning. We finalized a few plans for the evening and then headed to the concierge desk to get some tickets we would need.

8503520645_a087f305e1_c.jpg

I took more pictures of the beautiful lobby.

New tickets in hand, we headed out to the bus stop!

8503492919_9638cdee4d_c.jpg

Was our destination. We had a lunch to get to. Any idea where we were going?

Here's a hint.
8504597480_5cbe830193_c.jpg

Our bus came quickly and we were on and seated and off to Epcot in no time.

8503482385_cacd25be3e_c.jpg

Doesn't that sight just make you want to cry? Or is it only me with no trip planned?

Stopped for a Photopass pic:

(for another lunch hint, have a look at my shirt too!)

Oh yeah. Here come the water works.

We passed by these guys.

I would have liked to stay and watch but we were short on time and hoping to get one attraction in before lunch.

Which attraction?

8504563204_2949d77a69_c.jpg

One of our favourites!

We walked in and the little clock that says "Next show will start in - - " said "42 seconds". Excellent! More awesome pixie dust! So we got in and picked a row, spread out and relaxed for the ride.

Hooray for Ellen!

On our way to lunch Johnny spotted a favourite of his and wondered if he had time to hop on.

8504404840_8ab4f46396_c.jpg

The wait time said 5 minutes so I told him to go for it. Our reservation was at 11:50 but I wanted to get there early. He ran to get in line for the orange team. I took some more pictures!

8504399464_77f4d6e3c5_c.jpg

As it turned out I waited 20 minutes for him! He came out apologetic, but no worries. We headed to our lunch destination:

8503285111_bebe5daeda_c.jpg

8503275845_9444f2baab_c.jpg

I had wanted to get there early for the singing of O! Canada but we missed it. Oh well!

We checked in, I got complimented on my shirt and we sat down to wait. There was a family next to us complaining loudly about basically everything. The wait, the prices, the food choices... They were so extremely upset by everything but they weren't leaving! :confused3 Maybe they were all just hungry.

We were soon seated. Our waitress was Jill who was from British Colombia and it was her second term here. During her first term, her roommate had been a girl I graduated high school with and had met up with in 2010! It's a small, small world.

8503268869_763306a101_c.jpg

8503224117_bdb505e644_c.jpg

I ordered a milkshake to drink.

8503252537_9be04928ee_c.jpg

Johnny had Coke I think.

We shared a bowl of cheddar cheese soup and Johnny discovered his new favourite food ever.

8503244963_a61fa829a5_c.jpg

I also loved it but it was very rich and I found I couldn't eat much. That's ok, Johnny didn't mind having a little extra! Of course the bread was delicious!

8504346904_77a0bc66f8_c.jpg

I ordered the gnocchi, something new and different for me! I really liked it too. Johnny had the NY Strip steak and fries. For dessert I had the creme brulee and Johnny had the pecan pie.

8504339346_ff4e69bd00_c.jpg

So?

** Dining Review Alert **

The food was excellent. I know lots of people have said the quality of the food here has gone down, and last time we ate here we didn't have the greatest food either but this trip was great. My gnocchi was very tasty and Johnny said his steak was pretty but not the best he's had. Cheddar cheese soup was freaking awesome, bread was awesome, desserts were awesome.
Food - 4.9/5
Our waitress was excellent. We waited and wanted for nothing. She was friendly and attentive.
Service - 5/5
Atmosphere in here is great, I love the decor. It was a little louder than you would hope a more expensive restaurant would be (or at least it seemed that way to me). All in all, not bad.
Atmosphere - 4/5
Value is where I believe this place takes a dip. The food is good, everything is good, but the prices are, in my opinion, too high for what you get. We went for lunch and only used one credit, but now that even lunch is two table service credits I can't see us going back.
Value - 1/5

All in all - 3.75/5 (yes I AM being this specific! :rotfl: ) I enjoyed it a lot and would like to go back but can't see me paying the prices. I'm also very cheap. :lmao:

... Continued from previous.

After lunch we decided to take it slow and let our stomachs settle. Since we were already in Canada, we took our time and looked around the gardens and the pavilion.

We headed in to do the Circle Vision show. On our way we spotted a twoonie in the water. We both got really home sick and took a picture of it:

I think we had about a 10 minute wait.

8504206182_3920eb8219_c.jpg

Ahhh Martin. Tell 'em about our country!
8503092413_902476d5a0_c.jpg

I sniffled and wiped my eyes through the show. (What!? My allergies were acting up... :rolleyes1)

Back out to the gardens!

We finally left Canada and headed around the rest of the world. We went through fairly fast and didn't stop for too much so I'll just let you see what we saw:

After that we headed toward the exit by way of Mouse Gears. :rotfl:

8503923480_f3d46ce69e_c.jpg

Then we headed back. It was 2:50 at this point and we wanted to get ready for our evening's activities! We got back to AoA and saw this wonderful water painting:
8502808717_155e3e3ab9_c.jpg

Already evaporating!

Then we saw construction. Since it's not something you see much at WDW I took a picture. :rotfl:
8503911850_072b338c44_c.jpg

So that's it for now. Coming up, a surprise for the evening! Any guesses?

Oh my gosh girl - you totally outdid yourself with this update! But you were long overdue, so I guess you needed to :rotfl:

So jealous of your pictures in Ellen's Energy Adventure. I love the colors.

Stupid Judy! :rotfl: Who doesn't like that line?

Your lunch looks/sounds really yummy! Denny and I have a lunch ADR there in June. We'll have TIW card which makes more sense.

I love the Canadian pavilion. It's so gorgeous. And I love the Canada film. Hey - even I get choked up when I watch it and I don't even live there.

I can just feel the pride you have in your country! Enjoy your day off.

I know! I didn't realize how long I made it until I tried to post it! :rotfl: But you're right, I was long overdue!

So jealous of your pictures in Ellen's Energy Adventure. I love the colors.
It's so dark in there. I had to hike my ISO up to max and then lighten them in Photoshop too!

Stupid Judy! :rotfl: Who doesn't like that line?
I say it allllll the time and non-Disney people think I'm nuts. :lmao:

It was very good, we really enjoyed it! The TIW card would definitely make it worth it. :thumbsup2

I love the Canadian pavilion. It's so gorgeous. And I love the Canada film. Hey - even I get choked up when I watch it and I don't even live there.
The pavilion is beautiful and the film is great, it's done well (and I hope I'm not being biased!)

I can just feel the pride you have in your country! Enjoy your day off.
I am proud of our country, also I was pretty home sick so being in "Canada" was making it worse! :rotfl2:

Beautiful world showcase pictures. I'm guessing MNSSHP for the evening???
Thanks!
Hmmmm good guess :thumbsup2

Loved reading this!! So neat. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for reading!

Wow, great update. It's a grey and SNOWY :scared1: day here, so I got a cup of tea and enjoyed my read. I love Ellen's ride, DS5 wouldn't get on it last year fingers crossed for April, he'd love it if he could get past the dark. And I love Canada too!!

Thanks for the warning about the long update, so I will comment on the couple of chapters I was behind

I like your new fin-friends. Blue is my favorite color- the fish are just beautiful! Do you have a freshwater or saltwater tank? Or both?

I enjoyed reading about your trip to Ottawa! It sounds like a lot of fun in spite of the cold.

I like the bridesmaid dress, and in charcoal grey it actually could be something you wear in the future.

The ice sculptures were awesome!

Not telling my boys about the war museum because if we ever make our way to Ottawa, we would end up there for sure!

Yum, beaver tail. Yes, I think they did have them at the Canadian pavillion at EPCOT and it caused a minor stir when they were no longer available.

We have not done the Hoop De Doo- we actually haven't been out to the campground. :cool1: for new experiences and :yay::yay: that you loved it.

All caught up

:cool1:

Thanks for the pictures at Universe of Energy!!! They are great! I rarely see pictures and NEVER ones that good. I think a lot of people skip this attraction because it is long (I won't say boring). Heck, I even enjoyed it before they jazzed it up with Jeopardy, Ellen and Bill Nye (and Stupid Judy)

Le Cellier is one of our favorites, but we are skipping it on our next trip. We are getting our steak-on at the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. Hidden Gem. Shhhhh... Don't tell anyone.

Too funny about your connection to your waitress through a mutual acquaintance!

Love your pictures of the Canadian pavilion. It is truly a beautiful place! And the movie with Martin is great too! I can see why you would get homesick (but find it a little amusing that while you are posting you were homesick, you are experiencing Disney withdrawals). Oh, I'm hoping you find a way back soon!

Your pictures around the world are great- they just capture the essence of each of the countries.

Excited to hear about your evening plans, especially if they are MNSSHP!

yay Wendy ure alive!!! Lol I was Just telling amy today that i needed one of u to do an update,AGGGGHHH I gotta get through this wait its so close yet so far!!! ( hurry up jump in my suitcase)

Great update and AMAZING pictures!! I love the Canadian pavilion too, even though they put the CM in Lumberjack costumes...lol. We have to be proud of our country, it is beautiful and Disney did a pretty good job displaying it.

"Stupid Judy"

Awww I don't blame you for getting homesick in the Canada pavilion - it is beautiful there! :goodvibes Glad you had a good lunch at Le Cellier!

all caught up! Wonderful report. I've been terrible about reading lately, so I had a lot to catch up on.

Snow! Oh yuck. We have a possibility of getting a little today. Not fun! I'm done with winter!
Aww hope you can get your little guy on Ellen, I love that ride! Love the dinosaurs most of all hehe.

I like your new fin-friends. Blue is my favorite color- the fish are just beautiful! Do you have a freshwater or saltwater tank? Or both?
I used to have both, but I found the saltwater too much work and not enough fun so we sold it last year. Just fresh for us now!

I enjoyed reading about your trip to Ottawa! It sounds like a lot of fun in spite of the cold.
We did have a lot of fun, we even said we would love to go back in the warmer weather!

I like the bridesmaid dress, and in charcoal grey it actually could be something you wear in the future.
I agree, I could see myself in that dress again.

The ice sculptures were awesome!

Not telling my boys about the war museum because if we ever make our way to Ottawa, we would end up there for sure!
Secret is safe with me! Hehehe I wouldn't put anyone through that torture.

Yum, beaver tail. Yes, I think they did have them at the Canadian pavillion at EPCOT and it caused a minor stir when they were no longer available.
Ohhhh really? I want to make a petition -- Bring Back Beavertails!

We have not done the Hoop De Doo- we actually haven't been out to the campground. :cool1: for new experiences and :yay::yay: that you loved it.
We did love it, so much that we would definitely consider going back again and again.

All caught up

It certainly is long, that's for sure. I can see how it would be boring to some. Oh well! Shorter lines for those of us who enjoy it! :rotfl:

Le Cellier is one of our favorites, but we are skipping it on our next trip. We are getting our steak-on at the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. Hidden Gem. Shhhhh... Don't tell anyone.
Hehehe DH's favourite steak ever came from ESPN club! Maybe some time I'll try your hidden gem too :thumbsup2

Too funny about your connection to your waitress through a mutual acquaintance!
Happens every time we eat at Le Cellier, we have some type of connection to home. It's nice!

Hahhaha so true, I'm so fickle! When I'm here I want to be there, when I'm there I want to be home! :rotfl: Not all the time though, we usually find a happy medium.

Your pictures around the world are great- they just capture the essence of each of the countries.
Thank you! :goodvibes

Excited to hear about your evening plans, especially if they are MNSSHP!
Hopefully this next update will come a little quicker than the last did!

yay Wendy ure alive!!! Lol I was Just telling amy today that i needed one of u to do an update,AGGGGHHH I gotta get through this wait its so close yet so far!!! ( hurry up jump in my suitcase)
Alive and well. Don't tempt me with your suitcase, I WILL squeeze myself in somehow!

Great update and AMAZING pictures!! I love the Canadian pavilion too, even though they put the CM in Lumberjack costumes...lol. We have to be proud of our country, it is beautiful and Disney did a pretty good job displaying it.
Thanks! :goodvibes I can honestly say I don't even mind the lumberjack outfits. Might as well be a total cliche! Disney certainly did do a good job of displaying our country (though sometimes I wish the Maritimes were around a little more. A sailboat or something hahaha)

"Stupid Judy"

Awww I don't blame you for getting homesick in the Canada pavilion - it is beautiful there! :goodvibes Glad you had a good lunch at Le Cellier!
DH and I watch NCIS every week and at one point during last season, "Stupid Judy" was a guest star. Every time we saw her we shouted "STUPID JUDY!" at the TV. :rotfl2:

all caught up! Wonderful report. I've been terrible about reading lately, so I had a lot to catch up on.

Whoops! Ninja poster, I missed you in my replies.
Thanks, and I know the feeling! I was woefully behind for a while too. It's nice getting all caught up. :goodvibes

monsters-university-st-patricks-day-poster.jpg

Hehehe I hope everyone has a great St. Patty's Day.

I know I just did an update three days ago, but I'm going to squeeze in another short one now while I have time. Also, I took A LOT of pictures this evening so it will be picture heavy and light on words. :rotfl:

"It's a Small World After All"

We just got back from Epcot and were about to head out again. We got freshened up a little and headed back to the busses. For the first time all trip, I had my cell phone with me, checking for messages. We had two groups of people we were meeting up with.

Soon we were at our destination for the evening. Completely unplanned, last minute, we were going here:

8559055096_69aa71d800_c.jpg

How did this come about?

You remember eeyore04 and her family were still in WDW, and they were going to the party this night. Johnny and I decided not to go because I went once and didn't enjoy it much and we didn't want to spend the extra money. Well, the day before I had a message from a friend, Kylend.

**Back story!**

On last year's trip, while waiting for the 40th anniversary fireworks, we got talking to a guy who was a plumber (like Johnny) by trade, a photographer (like me) as a hobby, and a Canadian, like both of us. We kept in touch on Facebook ever afterwards and he and I even did the 365 day project together.

**Back to present time**

So I got a message from him saying "Are you really in WDW right now?? We land there tomorrow!" We decided we should meet up for sure and he convinced me to go to the party with them. :thumbsup2

We were a little early getting to the park so we decided to go to the hub and hang out there where we would meet Kylend and his wife.

8559049852_f7f2e64ddd_c.jpg

Most people were leaving. It was 3:30 and the park was just starting to empty out for the party.

8557938869_65e2cbbc79_c.jpg

We got some Photopass pics:

8563967117_dd16cf81e3_c.jpg

8563965329_704e245435_c.jpg

We proceeded toward the hub and the castle show was going on so we watched a little and took some pictures.

8557923951_e0a8bf3aaf_c.jpg

8559028566_c62387c161_c.jpg

8557913263_dd76d758b8_c.jpg

I had a message from Kylend who was at the Will Call but they couldn't find his tickets. No worries, we were just hanging out and taking pictures around the hub.

I LOVE all these little statues. I love the permanent ones a little more than the Hallowe'en ones, but w/e. They're all cute.

8558989888_c0b5ca0088_c.jpg

8557869973_0775d54bf7_c.jpg

The wildlife was too cute, they were hopping around by my feet picking up crumbs and taking them into the bushes.

8557877481_327c946ae6_c.jpg

It was incredibly hot out just then. We were starting to really feel the heat and were just thinking we might have to find somewhere close by in the shade when we got a message from Kylend -- tickets in hand, they were heading up to meet us!

We snagged a couple more quick pictures:
8557900901_3b4049e1cc_c.jpg

8557893939_0aa20a0d42_c.jpg

And then there they were!

How cool it is that I met these nice people in Disney and now we were meeting up again in Disney. It's a small, small world.

We decided to take off in the direction of Tomorrowland and get lots of rides done before the real meat of the party started.

8558973054_01d807f099_c.jpg

So off we went, and that's a tale for another day!

Join me next time for some party stories and photos. Would we have a great time or would there be circumstances beyond our control?? Would that gorgeous blue sky last? Find out next time!

Saw this on Facebook today and just wanted to share. How true.

526861_217155108409856_436725518_n.jpg

Unfortunately it's also what manages to put one into a real funk when no trip is planned! :lmao:

omg how cool is that? I love meeting new Disney friends, and so I would not be disappointed at all if u managed to squeeze into my suitcase ever!!!
