At our 7th month window I scored 2 reservations for a one bedroom at The Grand California. The first was for the weekend before Christmas, and the second was for a long weekend in Feb., the week after my husband's birthday!
We'll be pulling the pick up truck to the front portico with luggage, and a large cooler full of groceries for cooking in villa, and those fabulous Grand California gas grills. And of course liquor and mixes for cocktails for the nights we don't spend all night at Trader Sam's at the Disneyland Hotel after the parks close.

We're thinking we might do a video to upload to You Tube of cooking a Prime Rib, or Beef Wellington in villa, with all the fixings, and a few more for using the gas grills on our Feb visit. On our first visit when the Grand California first opened, we did a full roast turkey dinner in our one bedroom during Thanksgiving, while dashing out to DCA and riding Grizzly River, Soarin Over California, and running back to check the oven. Dinner came out perfect on that trip.

Congrats! I heard it's pretty tough to score rooms at the GCV 7 months out due the limited availability. Nice job!!:thumbsup2

We stayed there in June, and think the villas are wonderful. Congratulations!

Congrats!
We scored 4 nights in October at our 7 month window.... then the MHP schedule came out.... we tried adding a 5th night, but had to wait list.... guess what came through today?!?! Our October 3rd wait list!! I though for sure we were out of luck since it was the first MHP to sell out! Counting down the days for our first visit to GCV :cheer2:

Yes, please, on the video!! Would love to see it!! We 'll be there in June with a large group and would love to have some meal options for the clan!

We plan to do a recipe video. The gas grills at VGC are great, and you get the grilling tools from guest services. We did marinated flank steak on one trip a few years ago, and enjoyed them at the umbrella covered patio tables next to the grills. The grills are just outside the villa laundry room, that has the flat screen TV to watch while you do a wash.
We had friends stay with us a year ago in a 2 bedroom, they cooked up Tiana's Jambalaya recipe in our kitchen that was fabulous. The leftovers went into the morning breakfast omeletes.
