We got a new cat!

Beth, she is beautiful :lovestruc . She looks part calico and part harlequin. My father has a female cat that is a harlequin. Her sister was a calico.

Was she ever in a backpack with seven little kiddies on a bus with a little girl?

Awwww..... congrats!! She's so cute and she looks like she's already a part of the family.

As far as the Humane Society, as you've learned, don't discount the cats that are there just because of the people who they lived with previously. Our local PetSmart has cats from the Humane Society all the time and the reasons stated for why people got rid of the cats are horrible- didn't feel like taking care of anymore, etc...... often it has nothing to do with the cat.

Virgo, that poem made me all teary

I can't believe so many of you like Sprinkles. I think that's a bad omen for a cat name. :lmao:

She's about 2 years old so hopefully we'll have her for a long time. I can't remember why she was given to the HS. But she's my baby now so it doesn't really matter. :cloud9:

Aww Beth, thats all that matters!!!!! She was yours!

I like Sprinkles too because we have a Speckles!

Our last two we adopted two weeks ago (4mos old) are the most loving cats we have and they were suppose to be trap and release cats back into the wild. There is no way they were feral at all!

How cute!

I have a cat just like her except she is fluffy, she has black and brown spots all over her body, and her name is Cookie.

I like the name Sprinkles, too, because it sounds like a cupcake.

Beth - she looks like a real sweetie! Thanks for rescuing a cat. :goodvibes

What a cutie! Congratulations!

I remember your thread about getting a dog. Glad you decided to go with the kitty. Looks like she found her perfect home! :)

:cool1: :thumbsup2

Good luck! Looks very friendly!

She looks like a sweetie! I'm glad she fits into your home so well.

I like Sparx. Sprinkles/Sparkles reminds me of that episode of The Office.

I forgot to add earlier: I read somewhere once that cats respond better to names that end with the "ee" sound. I have no idea if this is true, but I thought it was interesting.

Of course, we have a Sebastian, but he only gets called that when he's bad. :rolleyes1 Usually I call him Sebassy.

That's funny because my dad has a habit of ending names with an "er" sound. Right now they have Buster, Max (sometimes called Maxer) and Sam (Sometimes called Sammer). Of course, my dad's a bit nutty and this habit crosses over to humans as well.

I know my DH suggested Sparky when we first got her, but I refused because my neighbors have this horrible huge dog named Sparky. :rotfl:
