We Get to Go Again? A March 2012 PTR

ROFL... Yes, he does. THere's a pic of him wearing it I just posted on my PTR this morning. :thumbsup2

D~

D, I can't find it. I checked 2/17, 2/18, and 2/19 ... Can you tell me roughly where it is? I know I'm half-blind (no joke), so I must have missed it ... :confused3

So are you going to do online check-in then? :confused3 I've been debating on if I want to do it or not .... I absolutely love online ... but ... not decided if I want to do it or not this year.

What are the pros and cons of checking in online? This is our first time to stay on property so I'm not sure why you wouldn't check in online.

Here, you go... It's the one of him with Maleficent... Maybe that isn't an Indy hat? :confused3 It's a hat, nonetheless... And he has Star Wars pins on it. :rotfl2:

D~

I dunno .... :confused3

Here's DH wearing his Indy hat in 2009 (the day after he purchased it at the Indy kiosk):

What are the pros and cons of checking in online? This is our first time to stay on property so I'm not sure why you wouldn't check in online.

Well, there aren't really any pros and cons ... it's just preference.

Well, there CAN be pros for online ... since you can state what time you're arriving when doing online check-in, your room MAY be ready when you arrive.

Really, the only REAL pro is that check-in is quicker. Online has it's own line (but you can use ANY, in the event the online is long and the others are short). You don't have to give all the information to the CM at the desk, you just show your ID (and voucher if you have it). Then they give you your packet and you're on your way.

If you don't do online check-in, then it does take a minute or two longer to check-in at the desk ... but really, the times are insignificant.

I've done online check-in EVERY year but once. My wait was only slighter longer AT the counter while the CM had to punch in my CC# and some other information. In the past, when I've done online, my room has been ready. I could just be lucky, or it could be because I told them what time I plan to arrive.

I love doing online check-in ... as it's just another Disney Trip Milestone. But truly, it doesn't have many added benefits. You CAN make room requests with online check-in ... you can state things like ground floor, near transportation, need a crib, etc. And I think they've updated it since last I used it, and now you can make building requests. So if you have requests, I recommend either calling and having them added, or just do online check-in. No requests are guaranteed.

Again, online is just preference. Some people prefer to wait and then verbally make the requests at check-in, others do online, so they arrive and venture forth to the parks. :thumbsup2

Personally ... I'm about to go do online check-in myself. My 10 day window is today. :woohoo:

I hate when my brain can't shut down long enough for a rest. I hope you can get some rest in, soon!!!

G'luck on getting your "todo" list whittled down. :thumbsup2

So are you going to do online check-in then? :confused3 I've been debating on if I want to do it or not .... I absolutely love online ... but ... not decided if I want to do it or not this year.

I took some Tylenol PM last night and finally got a decent night's sleep. It was rough the last few days and I was yawning a LOT at work...so professional! :rotfl2:

Alas, my to do list has been ignored this week, since work has had its own to do list. :sad2: Good news is I am past the major events for this week. Everything else we have planned for the week is FUN! Starting with dinner and a hockey game tomorrow night. :cheer2: I am SO looking forward to this. DH and I have not been on a real date in months. We are usually tired (lazy) , and just choose to stay home with take-out and a movie.

Yes, I debated doing online check-in, but honestly I did it last year and it worked out great. I got all the room requests I had asked for and we got checked in quickly and everything. :goodvibes I had no complaints, so I am going for it again. I read in your PTR that you too have decided to do it again. :thumbsup2

Yes, what she said! :thumbsup2 And thank you Liddy for taking up my slack and answering folks' questions on here. You're the bestest friend (threadjacker) a girl could ask for. :lmao:

Hey, she asked ME what the pros and cons are. :lmao:

I still haven't decided if I'll do online check-in. :confused3

Glad that you're on to the fun stuff! :goodvibes

I'll be back to threadjack more soon. :p

My week of madness if finally OVER! And I finally got to start packing...sort of.

DH and I had about 2 hours Saturday with no kids, so we set to work. We still can't put things in suitcases, however we raided the kids' drawers and pulled out things we would rather not have to launder before we leave. :lmao: I cleaned out a drawer in my dresser, and it is now STUFFED with shirts for them to take. I also discovered a little "surprise". I had ordered a couple of long sleeved Mickey shirts for DH and I. I had opened the package, saw the two plastic wrapped shirts and just shoved them back in the box for later. Well, DH pulled them out to wash them...and there were THREE shirts there! :woohoo: Disney sent us an extra shirt...because we are special. :thumbsup2

We also got all the liquid toiletries ready to go in the little 3.5 oz containers. We found some of the Purex 3 in 1 laundry sheets at Walgreens. We got our carry-on/park bags ready. We sorted through all the flashy toys and other
"extras" we have gotten for the kids to use at the parks. I really feel more organized now.

There is one thing that is still up in the air...the reveal. :headache: I wanted to do the box of balloons, but knew DH would want something more simple (it's just his personality...I am just glad he is taking us again, not gonna complain). Anywho, in the spirit of simplifying I suggested that I "mail" a letter to them and we could give it to them the night before we leave. Well, now he wants to wait til the morning we fly out. :sad2: The kids are gonna be half asleep, and he wants to head to the airport and have them try to figure it out on their own. I am disappointed about this, but I guess I will go along to keep the peace.

I get to do online check-in today...as soon as they work out whatever problems the system is having. I have tried twice this morning and get an error message that says: "Sorry, our system is not available at this time. Please try again later. " What?!?!? :scared1: Do they not know how important and exciting it is to finally make it to online check-in day??? THEY have been sending me countdown reminders for an entire month for online check-in! Get it together folks!!!

UGH!!!!! Just checked Accuweather for our vacation forcast...in order from arrival day: Mostly Cloudy, Rain, Cloudy, Cloudy, Rain! There are two more days that have not been forcasted yet...

In my experience, especially with Florida weather, that forecast will most likely change numerous times between now and then!
I'm guilty of watching the forecast like crazy though, even though my trip isn't for another month, I check it out each day. But I try not to stress too much if it looks "iffy" and have been pleasantly surprised in the past. :thumbsup2

I'll be sending you "good weather" vibes ! :goodvibes

I know, I was looking at the weather and it looks like alot of rain days. But we still have some time and hopefull things will change. But than I remember my families first trip in 2009. The night before our trip I went on line to check the weather and nearly burst into tears when I saw that every single day was calling for rain. Even when we were welcomed at GKTW the volunteer was very sorry to hand us the weather report for the week and gave us some free rain ponchos. As it turned out it did rain alot on the day we arrived (on and off all day), it rained about an hour or so during our MNSSHP, and it rained for about 5 min during our DHS day but besides that it was clear skys the entire trip. It also called for a lot of rain during our trip last May but we only got rain for a couple of hours on one day.:thumbsup2

I've been watching the weather for over a week now ... it keeps changing. Even if I check more than once in a day, it says something different. One day it's all nice, the next it's all yuck. There's no way to accurately predict weather that far out. Once it gets closer, the weater will be closer to target. But even still, the best meteorologist can't get it 100%. :thumbsup2 Just keep in mind that a horrible day at WDW will beat out a normal day at work. :goodvibes

Love everything you have planned, can't wait to see the reveal!! I would love to plan a surprise trip for the kids one day, maybe our next one.

We have stayed at PO RS, pretty sure in Alligator Bayou? I think it was called. We really liked it. It was very quiet and peaceful, of course beautiful. It was way back in 2004 but I remember I broke my toe on the bed. It was the foot board, you couldn't see it b/c it was covered w/ the comforter and maybe it was bigger than normal but I cracked my toe on the corner of it and WOW! Pain! If the same beds are there, be careful!

It's so great that your DH is into Disney and Star Wars, I wish my DH was more into it.

Have a great time and I can't wait to read more!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement on the weather. DH said basically the same thing. I am going to make myself NOT check the forcast again until the day we pack. :rolleyes1

Well, I never did lay out our plans for our last day, so...Our last day will be Wednesday, March 14th. We will have to get our bags packed and ready for ME that morning. :guilty:

Our last day was going to be a "free day", sort of a pick-a-park day. BUT THEN, my BFF announced they would be headed down to go to WWoHP, Legoland...and WDW!!!! So now our last day plan is to meet up with them for another Epcot day. :thumbsup2 We will get to fit in anything we missed on our first full park day. We plan to meet up for lunch at Sunshine Seasons and just decide what to do from there. We will fly out at 7pm on this night, so we will have to leave the park early to be sure to catch the UNmagical Express. :sad1:

So, DH and I FINALLY decided on a reveal that makes us both happy! :thumbsup2

We get the car loaded and ready to go and then fill it with balloons. We wake the kids up and tell them something is up with Daddy's car and it looks like we are gonna have to drive him to Nashville. (He works in Nashville) Then when they get their sleepy selves up at 5 am and get into the car they will see the balloons and we will tell them...

party: :mickeyjum SURPRISE, WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY!!! :mickeyjum party:

That IS the final plans for the reveal. We have just one week til departure day!!!!

I love this idea Oopsi!!! Can't wait to hear about the kids' reactions! :)

Happy news three days before our trip...

We are going to book our bounceback for October 2013. We are hoping that October weather will be more predictably warm. This will also give us a year and half to save. SO EXCITED!!!
