We leave for a 2-week trip to Disney tomorrow, and just told the kids on Saturday. We were staying in town for my daughters' Nutcracker show, and when the girls were done with the show, I gave them candy bars that had a special 'ticket' that said "Congratulations! You have won a trip to Disneyworld December 1-14, 2004"...and it listed all the things we have planned. My kids didn't look at the year, and thought it was for next year. I said, "Look at the date." My oldest son's eyes got real big and said "You mean like...in 3 days?" It was great. It helped my daughters' who were sad about their show being over, and my ever-kidding younger son came home and made a paper chain like we always do, with only 3 links...what a joker!
