Hello Everyone!
I want to thank everyone who in the past has helped me along the long decision process. We finally did it and signed the contract. We are now proud owners at VWL!!!!! YEAH.. Now I must become the master of banking and borrowing. As those who have helped me in the past know I am a family of 5 and our average vacation is 10 days in may which runs about 450 pts. We recently purchased 370 and since we just got back and purchased we banked all this year. So my use year is Dec does that mean all 370 banked plus my new 370 become available in Dec giving me 740???
And can I book in June for May at my home resort using those points????
I can tell this will be a learning process and I will probably end up buying additional points. My husband already thinks we should buy more because he already has the bug to return and we've only been home since may20th. Not that I'm any better I've already started checking airfare and am considering taking one of my children for their birthday as a surprise.
Speaking of which, if I have banked all of this years points and decide to make a last minute spur of the moment trip, do I borrow from next year or how does that work??

Can you all tell I have loads of questions? Any and all welp will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Congratulations and welcome home!!

First, congratulations and welcome home! I know how excited you feel at this time! Yes, since you banked all your points, you will have 370 + 370 = 740 total when your new use year begins. Since this year is banked, if you decide to use some, you will have to borrow. Just make sure that when you make the ressie you tell the Member Services agent to use the "banked" points first. They can only be banked for one year, so you want to make sure and use them first. And yes, you can book in June for next May as long as you are booking your home resort. Have fun planning!

Welcome home!

We surprised our kids with a trip last September. They didn't have the SLIGHTEST idea we were leaving until 10 minutes until we had to leave for the airport!! My dd couldn't even believe it was true. She said "my brain doesn't think it's possible, but my heart believes it." Showing her the airline tickets convinced her! It was truly magical to watch their eyes light up as it hit them that this was TRUE!!!

Have fun!

Hi Ohiominnie!
We suprised the kids once before for Christmas and did not tell them until we were in the airport. They thought we were taking Dad to the airport for a bsiness trip. When we told them we were going to Disney the 3 year old was ready to jump on the plane, the 8 year old wanted to argue that Daddy was going on a business trip so we couldn't go. It wasn't until we boarded the plane that she finally belived us. It was so great to suprise them and my then 3 year old will be turning 7 in July and is majorly streesed out from her hectic schedule so I thought a Disney break might be in order. And since my husband and I just got back from WL without the kids in May I thought a nice family trip might be in order.
Suprise trips and last minutes are always my favorite
--Less stress.
Enjoy your trip without the kids, I know we did!!
