It isn't even mostly true, at least as stated. The long held founding myth is that all displacement was requested by invading armies and was by choice. That's not even true for most. What is true is that there are a lot of cirumstances which show Arab culpability and limit Jewish culpability in creating the circumstances, as opposed to a simple order of "transfer" from DBG, etc. But it still is what it is - significant transfers by force. That's true.
The piece I responded to was a fairly one sided propaganda piece. As I said, I could argue with each point in there, but I wan't looking for an argument, just the need to correct one egregious misstatement. Then I took a cheap shot about the Protocols.
It is easily possible to make a pretty damning case the other way without one misstatement if one elects to remove context, which is always necessary for historical judgment. But I am not looking to put together a hatchet piece either way, and to the extent I have biases in reviewing the facts, they will all be pro-Israeli. But it is not true to suggest that the initial line I disagreed with is mostly accurate. It's not. That doesn't mean Israel is illegitimate as is often suggested; it does suggest that there is an original sin in creation that must be atoned for, much like this nation. I think the atonement has been taking place for the last 16 years (at least since Madrid), but atonement it is
