Thanks again for everyone's response to my earlier question.
Well, I did it. I booked the 4-night cruise on the Wonder!
I think the reservation specialist thought I was insane . . . kept pausing to second guess myself before completing the credit card number. But, c'est la vie, it's all done now! We're only going with a cat 11 cabin (the aft end of deck 7), but I think we're going to have an amazing time! I'm so excited!
So - some questions. This is the shortest planning time (and the busiest) I've ever had before a major trip and I'm a planner by nature, so I'm feeling at a loss for where to begin.
- Other than whatever information gets sent by Disney and these boards, any suggested reading?
- I'm going to try to book my husband's scuba excursion in advance (for Nassau). All other ressies (Palo's, spa) need to be done on board, right? Anything else that should be done in advance?
- Is it worth splurging on a massage at the spa? What about the rainforest?
- Right now we're slotted for the late dining shift. Any reason this is a bad idea?
- Any packing tips? I've never been on a cruise before!
- Is the anti-jellyfish lotion (for sea lice) important?
- I have ginger pills . . . neither DH or I usually get motion sick, but having never cruised before I'm unsure of my reaction. Should I invest in something else?
- Should we get water shoes for Castaway Cay?
- Other than DH's scuba excursion and Castaway Cay, we're inclined to stay on the ship and relax (in other words, skip Nassau and Freeport) . . . crazy for me to skip both ports?
- Since most flights back are late afternoon or early evening on our final day, I'm now thinking of spending the day at WDW (or, possibly, IOA). What's the most economical series of transfer options to go from MCO to Port Canaveral and then return from Port Canaveral to WDW followed by WDW to MCO. I know there are small lockers at the parks, but is there any way to store our large luggage and enjoy a day at the park (admittedly, I'm suddenly tempted to stay one night at WDW!)?
All tips welcome . . . I'm feeling like a major newbie!
