we did it-no strollers

houseofmouse,
Glad to see others form So. CA are going to WDW! We are taking our first trip in Feb. with a 5 and 7 yr. old. We go to Disneyland at least 2-3 times a year and never take a stoller. Is it alot different for the walking on little legs? I noticed in some of the site's tips they suggest a stroller for up to 8 yr. olds. That did surprise me. We haven't even owned a stroller for two years!

topgumm & houseofmouse,

I think that if your kids are use to walking and you take breaks, they will do great! Our kids have been walking at DW since 5. We rented a double stroller once on our last trip and that was because they had fallen asleep on the bus ride and woke up UGLY! It might be harder to go without a stroller when it is really hot & humid, but in Feb & March you should be fine.

We found that our boys, 5 yr old twins last trip, enjoyed being "free" to walk around and get close to things. If it was really busy, this might have been a problem.

One trick we used was the pressed pennies. We bought them each a penny book and we brought pennies & quarters in film cannisters. Every time they found a machine at Epcot, they could make 1 pressed penny. They enjoyed walking around Epcot looking for the machines. It was a game to see who could find the next machine first.

We will be going in Jan. The boys will be 6 - birthday is Jan. I'll let you know if we make it!
