We did it ALL!! 19 days Apr/May 2012 (updated! check in ROYAL PACIFIC RESORT)

Wow, you guys got a TON done on your MK day. That's awesome! I love your DD's obsession with putting things on her head, lol. It makes for some cute, fun pics!

Ya, it does make for some fun pics :) and with the facebook obsession these days she will now always have something new to throw up for a profile pic. lol

Sorry for the delay in getting more updates done. It's been busy with getting DD ready for grad and trying to get some yard maintenance done as well as my niece's grad and wedding season has started!!!

so, here's our 3rd day of our vacation...

ANIMAL KINGDOM...

It was a great day at AK - hot as usual. It always seems to be really hot for us in this park!!

We arrived around 8:20ish and the line ups were LoooooNG!!! But that's bc everyone was lined up at the middle turnstyles. We were leary to start our own so we went to a somewhat shorter line and played the jumping game by jumping into a turnstyle as a CM started opening it. LOL We ended up being the 2nd family in that line.

Turnstyles opened around 8:45 I'd say and we ended up being at the FRONT of the rope (well - one person in front of each of us) but we were able to keep our pace at the front of the rop all the way to EE.

We got a bit confused at this point. We were on the right side of the mob and missed getting to the Fast Pass machines b/c we could't cross over the big mob and FP machines are on the LEFT!!! So... IF YOU WANT FP's FIRST - BE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE MOB!!! It was a calm walk over with CM's holding a rope and gently scolding anyone that tried to pass them :) That scared the runners back which is why we were able to stay at the front!! YAY for DISNEY for rewarding those that made an EFFORT to be at the front already!

just after 9 - rode EE walk on
and this snap of our expressions on EE is totally lame but oh well. ROFL

IMG_4786C.jpg

I can't even say who won this one bc it's so blurry but I think I tried the thumbs up and of course it looks lame, and DD and DH both did expressions they've done a million times so i think this time I should win for at least trying something different. Obviously NONE of us knew exactly where this camera was bc none of us are looking in the right directions.

- grabbed FP's and Rode EE again with maybe a 4 min wait plus an extra min b/c we politely asked to have front row :)

- The plan was to ride DINO next but we decided to skip it at this time.

so instead since I knew their FP was NOT attached to the rest of the park I sent Dh to grab a DINO FP and DD and I took a bathroom break and slowly made our way over to KALi

Here's dd checking out some stuff at a cart on our slow walk over...

IMG_4793.jpg

we stopped to see if the Monkeys were out but there wasn't much going on. A trainer was out and about placing food so they probably would be out soon.

blDSC_4699.jpg

- DH and DD walked on to Kali (I didn't want to get wet yet)

IMG_4797.jpg

I was glad I didn't go on bc they got good and wet!

We wanted to wait in this area to get Kali FP's when our time was right so we Took pics of dd and this nice fountain...

blDSC_4647.jpg

blDSC_4649.jpg

grabbed our FP's for Kali and then sauntered through one of the trails to view some animals..

blDSC_4652.jpg

blDSC_4656.jpg

blDSC_4658.jpg

blDSC_4660.jpg

blDSC_4663.jpg

It was really cool to see the trainer feed the bat :)

Here's DD photobombing my time in front of the camera! lol

blDSC_4668.jpg

I did get more of me without here but those aren't exciting enough to show. haha!!

Some more pics of our time on the trail. Pangani maybe?? I just can't remember.

blDSC_4672.jpg

blDSC_4686.jpg

blDSC_4688.jpg

DH wanted to get some pics of the birds on the red house feeder but none of them were landing on the red ones! :confused3 So he settled for the golden one which just wasn't as exciting.

blDSC_4697a.jpg

It was time to turn in our FP's so we Rode EE with FP's and it was maybe a 5 min wait and we got back row immediately as requested
(SBY was posted as 50 min at this point)

IMG_4784.jpg

I'm happy to say we Llooooooovvvedd Expedition Everest every single time we rode it so it just left us thinking ok, we're not old - we still love a good coaster - maybe Space was just more jerky now???

- DH ran to get another set of Kali FP's

- DD and I met DH at Dino - wait time posted 25 min

- DH arrived and we pretty much walked on Dino with FP's

blDSC_4704C.jpg

so again - I look lame trying to look all non challant and waving happily at the dinosaurs, DH is expressionless and DD - I'm not sure what she's trying to do. I'd say we all lose again. LOL. The real winners are in front of us. some of them look absolutely terrified!!!

- We were supposed to use our Kali FP's here but wanted to hit the next Lion King show so we decided to skip Kali since we still had another set of FP's for later.

- Got over to FOTLK area (bathroom break again) and then walked in to the 11:30 show b/c they were already seating people at 11:20. Got great spots!!

blDSC_4728a.jpg

too many pics - I will continue this update in the next post...

Day 3 - ANIMAL KINGDOM cont'd...

More pics of Festival of the Lion King. We don't watch a lot of shows at Disney (or any theme park) but this show is a must as it's so well done!!!

I loooved the monkeys! They were so good, and so animated!

blDSC_4746.jpg

blDSC_4756.jpg

blDSC_4781a.jpg

blDSC_4791a.jpg

blDSC_4835a.jpg

I also really loved watching the bird actors but dh didn't really get a great shot of them. I guess it's hard to capture her swinging and flying around but it's definitely a feast for the eyes to watch!

We did have some snacks during FOTLK but were still hungry so we decided to use up our FP's for Kali and then get a bite to eat on our way out.

We ran into a Photopass photog in front of the Tree of Life so stopped there for some pics- he was GREAT and did a variety of poses :) yay.

- Used our Kali FP at 12:25 just before grace period was to set in. This time it was DD and I that rode. We had a group of teens on our raft that figured since there was a camera focused on our raft it MUST be for them right??? You can see me peeking around the seat with the shades and the beige hat.

blDSC_4854.jpg

Here's another one - still not the best but at least the teens aren't taking it over. lol - you can see me waving in this one.

blDSC_4872a.jpg

SOOOO glad I waited until now to do Kali bc ya, I got GOOD and WET!! LOL

blDSC_4875.jpg

Oh, I should point out that the teens on the raft with us made a comment at the end about how they waited an HOUR in line for such a SHORT ride. LOL. I was glad that we had only a short wait bc of our FP's and it was the 2nd time to this ride today. YAY for touring EARLY and doing it right!!! I can't remember how long we waited but I'm sure it was just over 5 min. It might have been 7 or 8 max!

On our way across the park to find food we ran into DeVine!! YAY!! First time I've ever run into her. DH and DD have seen her the last 2 times we were there but only on the repeat visits that they did which I was not with them.

blDSC_4896a.jpg

We made our way to Pizzafari for some pizza and breadsticks and sat in the outside area to try and dry. I was ABSOLUTELY DRENCHED from Kali - like my shorts needed to be wrung out wet! LOL

Here's a few pics of their vibrant and colourful restaraunt...

blDSC_4911a.jpg

blDSC_4912.jpg

blDSC_4918.jpg

IMG_4811.jpg

DD didn't notice but this guy photobombed her! lol Looks like he wants to bite her ear off!!!!!

IMG_4812.jpg

After eating we Hit a few shops on the way out and of course had to try some more hats on!!! lol...

blDSC_4936.jpg

We even made DH get in on it this time.

blDSC_4934.jpg

We walked to our car bc we were there early enough to have a spot close enough to walk to at the end of the day and we were back to our condo around 2:00.

I forced the family to rest for the afternoon and eve which wasn't too hard bc we overdid it the day before and were feeling it in our feet today.

Hope I have enough space left for our pool shots! Here goes...

IMG_4835.jpg

IMG_4826.jpg

IMG_4844.jpg

I'm reading the Kingdom Keepers in that last shot!! I enjoyed reading it on our trip bc it's all stuff in the park. DD and I would fight over who got to read the book. She said she didn't care for it but when i started to tell her parts in the book that we had seen at MK she became obsessed with reading it too so we had to take turns. haha.

IMG_4841.jpg

DH also got some evening shots of our pool...

blDSC_4959a.jpg

blDSC_4963a.jpg

blDSC_4975.jpg

blDSC_4983a.jpg

It was a great day!! If anything we would have liked to ride EE a few more times but we did do it 3 times already and we knew we'd be back in a week for the EE5K race so we knew we'd be able to take on the YETI agian - only in the DARK next time!!!

Great update Kim!! I have my strategy now for Kali - I ride it last, just in case I get really wet!! I just hate walking around in wet clothes. And, because Windsor Hills is sooo close to AK, it means not long in the car, either!! ;) :rotfl:
I love Wayne's photos of the pool at night - it looks beautiful!
Only 4 months and 1 day to go now!!! (Can you tell I'm getting excited!! :confused3)
Awaiting more lovely photos and updates!! :surfweb:

Sounds like a great day at Animal Kingdom! Really productive, but hopefully not too exhausting!

Getting to ride EE 3 times sounds wonderful! Glad to see that you weren't feeling the same effects as you did on Space. I couldn't imagine not being able to go on Everest.

FotLK really is the best show in WDW, and the pictures you were able to get were fantastic! Made me feel like I was back in the stadium watching it!:goodvibes

Sometimes it's hard to relax knowing you're on vacation, but it's good to see you all were able to rest by the pool for awhile. Smart decision! And on a die-note, I read the first Kingdom Keeper's book a few months ago (as an elementary education major, I'm always reading kids' books.) And it was very cool to read about parts of Magic Kingdom knowing we've been there and know the attraction/scenery. :thumbsup2

Looks like you guys had a great AK day! We loved EE too. So fun!

I didn't like how short Kali was, but we were smart and did the FP thing, so it wasn't so bad, haha.

Love all your photos. There are some really great shots in there. I love the one of the bird on the house and the last one of the pool area especially. So pretty! :)

Great AK update! I've only done Kali once and have been too nervous to try it again, because I don't want to walk around the park drenched! Maybe next time I'll go on it right before we are about to leave! :rotfl:

I love FOTLK, I definitely have to see that on our next trip!

That is such a nice pool area, must have been fun to relax there for a while! I started reading Kingdom Keepers, but I couldn't get into it! I'll have to give it another try! :)

4 months Heather?!?!?! WOW! I'd be Sooo excited too if I were you!!!! Got room in your suitcase??? lol I'm sure DD would absolutely DIE if I did it without her though. DH and I are talking about a short trip for our 20th anniversary - like a 2nd honeymoon and DD has already cried a few times over it and we've just brought it up briefly. haha. Oh she's so spoiled - she's seen the world more than any of our friends and we love to take her along but it's hard to be a couple with a teenager in the house :guilty: so we REALLY need a getaway just for us. anyway, I'm getting off topic. LOL Ya, he got some beautiful shots of the pool at night. That's his favorite blue light time again - doesn't matter where we are he'll find something to photograph at blue light time.

Sounds like a great day at Animal Kingdom! Really productive, but hopefully not too exhausting!

3 times on EE is not much for us - DD only settled for it bc we knew we'd get to ride it at the 5K. It's one of our faves for sure!! and we were SOOO happy to find that we still loved it :goodvibes

DH did get some great shots of the show. You can sooo tell the difference in my tr between his pics and Cali's little point and shoot. LOL. His are the ones that look great - ours are the ones that aren't so great.

It was nice to hang at the pool. It's funny - i'm sure we were there for sure 3 times and a few times just for the hot tub but I still would have liked more pool time. I'm definitely going to have to plan a low key relaxing holiday next I guess.

Looks like you guys had a great AK day! We loved EE too. So fun!

I wish we had gotten one of a bird on the red house - it would have been so pretty with the vibrant colour. Haha, that just reminded me about the day we went to Universal and DH was taking SOOO many pics of me!!! I started wondering what was up until I realized it was the bright yellow shirt I had one that was drawing him to me :rotfl2: ** - I tell ya, the way to a photographers heart is bright colours. :lmao:

Great AK update! I've only done Kali once and have been too nervous to try it again, because I don't want to walk around the park drenched! Maybe next time I'll go on it right before we are about to leave! :rotfl:

Ya, definitely do it before you leave but make sure you have a Fast Pass for it!!! Like I posted - the teenagers had been in line an HOUR!!! and it is SOOO short. Definitely worth it if you can get a FP for the time you plan to leave though. I was uncomfortable walking to the restaraunt bc my shorts were dripping. LOL but it was so hot and I found the heat didn't bother me near as much when I was wet :thumbsup2 So at least that was a bonus. That and the fact that we were leaving soon.

I'm back and trying to get caught up on everyone's updates.

Sounds like everyone was having a fun trip! Your pictures are great--can definitely tell your DH is a photographer! :)

You take awesome pics ! :thumbsup2

Great day at at AK .. I could ride EE all day .. :woohoo:

I don't do Kali (IF I do .. I wear a poncho ;)) I don't like walking around soaked.

Love your pool ! For us, pool time is very important and so a nice pool is a bonus. :thumbsup2

I always want to bring ponchos but in the end I veto it bc I don't want any extra in the park bag. I know they are only small but I HATE carrying stuff :( Would be so nice to just go bagless into a park one day.

How did I miss you starting a TR? I so love the blue light pictures...

All caught up! The condo looks really nice and realxing! I am loving all of the pictures! Looks like MK and AK were both fun days.

It was definitely a good start to our vacation :) LOTS more to come!!

SORRY!!!

Just wanted to apologize for the delay on my next installment. It's been so busy around here with getting the yard in shape, and DD's grade 8 grad and end of the year activities that I havn't been able to update or even keep up with all the other reports I'm following :( I'm REALLY hoping to get on and do my Epcot Day before this week is out. Crossing my fingers it works but it's a busy week workwise - Our busy season has now officially kicked in so it'll be a little more tricky to stay on top of everything.

Hope you'll all stick around despite the delays.

Day 4 - April 29th, EPCOT

YAY, I finally made some time to get this next update on the way. So sorry for the delay. Now I hope I can do my next post before waiting a month bc my photobucket account said my space is almost all used up so I'm not sure how much room I'll have left. Maybe I need to start being a little more skimpy on the pictures??? This one may take 3 installments to show them all. LOL

Ok, let me see - where to start....

Arrived 8:15am and most turnstyles had people at them so they were well spread out today unlike AK was but there weren't many in each line so we hopped in one behind a couple with a stroller.

Here are some shots of us waiting...

IMG_4851.jpg

already sitting down - trying to preserve my feet so i can make it through the loooong epcot day.
IMG_4858.jpg

- Headed to Soarin when they opened the park at 8:47 ish - there was NO stampede and people walked VERY nicely there

- DH and DD went on in and were on the FIRST ride of the day - they didn't have to race or anything
- I grabbed Fast Passes and arrived a few minutes after them - there was only a few people getting FP's

I got some shots of the stream of ppl heading to Soarin while I waited...

IMG_4859.jpg

IMG_4861.jpg

Not bad at all hey???

- Did Sum of All Thrills with NO WAIT!! DH accidently chose bobsled instead of coater (BOO) but none of us wanted to hang around to do it again b/c there was a bit of a line now

You can see their legs dangling off of Sum of All Thrills in this shot...

IMG_4870.jpg

and I being worried about similators making me nauseaus (bc Soarin did that once) stayed off - did a potty break and snapped a few pics of them.

- Next stop was Mission Space. Wait time was 5 min for mild or green and 15 for more intense or orange - we did green and it was SSOOO nothing to worry about AT ALL for anyone wondering. lol unless i guess you can't handle tight spaces which i can so it didn't even feel that tight for me.

IMG_4871.jpg

- Now that the busier rides had been taken care of (BOO NO TEST TRACK :) ) we Headed over to do Nemo - 5min wait posted and it was walk on
smDSC_5003.jpg

This pic is bad exposure of DD but I really wanted the scenery in the Nemo walkway anyway, I looove this little shack with beach grasses!

IMG_4872.jpg

- Checked out the aquariums and nibbled on granola bars.

We spent a LOT more time in here than I had planned for but DD is SUCH a sea creature nut that it's soo hard to get her away from things like sea horses, dolphins, sea turtles etc... So we ended up running out of time for The Innoventions East and West which we were all actually fine with.

smDSC_5016a.jpg

smDSC_5018a.jpg

smDSC_5020a.jpg

- Left aquariums b/c it was time to hit world showcase and OOOPPPSS! We had forgoten about our FP to Soarin :( Oh well, DD and DH were fine with that too. I think they didn't want to make me sit alone yet again while they did a ride and they figured once was sufficient.

On our way to WS we saw this...

smDSC_5041a.jpg

pretty cool flower feature for Flower and Garden Festival. You'll see a few more floral shots throughout the day.

I wanted to start out on the other side in Mexico so we headed over to that side of the WS (I had our food stops all planned out according to that side bc I thought we'd be in Innoventions on that side. LOL. Oh well, only several dozen extra steps I guess. HAHA!

Entering WS but looking back at the epcot ball...

smDSC_5042a.jpg

Right before Mexico we saw a meeting place for Duffy the Bear but he wouldn't be out til 11:30. (It was about 11:05. No problem!! We'll just bide our time away in Mexico and head back for a visit. Only ANOTHER several dozen footsteps added to our day right??? ROFL!!! ** - i can already tell at this point it's going to be a sore feet kind of day.

And entering into Mexico...

smDSC_5078a.jpg

and the inside... I think EVERYONE loves this pavilion - it always feels like a night time party and it's soooo nice and cool :) We were already feeling the heat today and it was more humid too so this was a very enjoyable stop.

smDSC_5063a.jpg

and WHO doesn't stop for this shot?? LOL

smDSC_5048a.jpg

of course DD kicked me out of the pic right after that bc she had to have one without mommy in it don't you know ;) LOL

We hopped onto the Gran Fiest Tour with the 3 Caballeros which was a walk on

IMG_4900.jpg

and once we got out and had a bathroom break it was time to head back to Duffy.

We were later getting back than we thought (11:50) and so after waiting a few minutes in line of course Duffy needed his cookie break :( WAH!! DD was next in line so we opted to wait for 10 minutes until Duffy came back. It wasn't too bad and it was the ONLY character that DD wanted her pic with this year so I think that was a MILD wait and definitely worth it.

smDSC_5076a.jpg

IMG_4906.jpg

After some snaps of Dd and Duffy byDH, the photopass photog, and myself standing back getting the wide shots of it all (too many cameras!!! lol) we were ready to head BACK through Mexico and on to Norway.

In Norway we hopped on to Maelstrom to enjoy the viking ship ride - I think we waited maybe 5 minutes to get on. Then we enjoyed the shop and checking out the trolls.

IMG_4903.jpg

ya, lovely I know but I just couldn't resist trying to pick that GIGANTIC nose!! Bahahaha!!!

Next up is time for a mid day snack!!! Stick around to see where we stopped to tide us over until the American pavilion where we planned to eat a meal.

EPCOT - pt 2!

ok, I beleive we left off picking a giant trolls nose in Norway right?? :rotfl2:
Well, what better to do after picking a nose than to go have something to eat!!! ;) lol

We stopped at Kringla Bakeri for some school bread bc I remembered how yummy it was from last time. I only got one bc I remembered it being quite big and DH wasn't interested in a snack so just enough for DD and I.

smDSC_5080a.jpg

**!! That's a LOT smaller than I rememberd it being!! Have they made their serving sizes smaller?????? Oh well - still pretty yummy!

and we got some company!!! Take a look!!

smDSC_5082a.jpg

One of them even walked right across DH's foot. LOL
Here they are by our feet...

smDSC_5083a.jpg

momma duck came racing in after them and hearding them out of there just after we took the pics but that's not the last we'll see of this little family of quackers today :)

- We went through the rest of the world showcase enjoying shops but no shows...

CHINA....

smDSC_5095a.jpg

Ooooh, look who's on the path to China too!! lol

smDSC_5091a.jpg

and a lovely flower display...

smDSC_5087a.jpg

IMG_4910.jpg

IMG_4912.jpg

IMG_4913.jpg

LOL - yes I could not resist rubbing the Buddhas belly. haha!

and finished up some shopping in china and proceeded to check out the gardens...

smDSC_5110a.jpg

IMG_4908.jpg

IMG_4909.jpg

IMG_4918.jpg

OH and look! When we were enjoying the beautiful gardens look who found the gardens the perfect little safe haven for her family...

smDSC_5100a.jpg

One quick little photo in Germany. There wasn't much to do here other than a quick look through the stores, unless your going to eat here so we went through pretty quickly but since I have some German blood I wanted to be sure to get a picture here...

smDSC_5130a.jpg

These guys must have been in Germany too bc they are next in the order of photos.LOL

smDSC_5132a.jpg

Now for a stroll through Italy :)

smDSC_5142a.jpg

smDSC_5133a.jpg

smDSC_5138a.jpg

smDSC_5145a.jpg

I actually can't remember if this one of DH is Italy or France??? It might be in the wrong spot. sorry.

i better stop this installation at Italy before i run out of image space. I'll continue on in the next post bc we still have 5 more countries to visit!!! and we havn't eaten or gotten some yummy frozen drinks yet!!!

ok, we left off at Italy so next must be the U.S.A... YAY, it's time to eat :mickeyjum - not to mention a little break from the heat!!!!

On our way there though DH spotted THIS!...

smDSC_5146.jpg

Frozen cappucino??? Ooohh, he felt he was quite in need of one of these so we decided to back track after eating to grab some cold drinks to give DH some energy and to cool us off as we continued on our way.

First though the Liberty Tree is where we wanted to stop to eat bc we remembered it from last time. They had a GREAT condiments bar and I had brought a bun with FULL intentions of buying a double burger - splitting it with DH and using the condiment bar to top my burger.

IMG_4930.jpg

Unfortunately they didn't have that double burger on the menu anymore :( Oh well, they had a burger that also had shredded pork on it - that's LOTS of meat so we got that one and planned to cut the meat part in half

Unfortunately they didn't have such a great condiment bar anymore either!!! Only the usual ketchup, mustard, mayo

Oh well, we make due anyway, we split the meat and I enjoyed it with mayo on it. Sure missed the pickles, tomatos and lettuce that they USED to set out but it was pretty yummy anyway. DD just got fries with cheese and I used some of her cheese on my burger too which added to the flavour as well.
We also got frozen ice water and drank some and used the rest to fill up our water bottle. We were going through water pretty fast today bc it was so hot and humid out!!!

We were just waiting outside while DH ran to grab our drinks when we saw these guys coming down a path. We enjoyed watching the crowds gather and once our drinks arrived (and DH too of course) we headed on our way.

IMG_4931.jpg

IMG_4934.jpg

DH got the frozen cappucino and I got the Frozen lemonade (one of my FAVES). DD didnt want any bc she wanted to keep her eye out for a frozen Mickey bar.

Next up was Japan - we spent a LONG time in the shops here bc DD loves this place.

IMG_4936.jpg

smDSC_5149a.jpg

smDSC_5167a.jpg

IMG_4943.jpg

IMG_4950.jpg

smDSC_5172a.jpg

By now my feet were absolutely KILLING ME!!! I HAD to have a FOOT BREAK!!!!
smDSC_5168a.jpg

It felt REALLY REALLY GOOD :)

Next country was Morroco! I hate to say but I don't think we snapped anything in this country :( We were so tired at this point and our feet were aching we didn't know how we were going to make it through the rest of the countries!! lol. So poor Morroco took the hit and we quickly cruised on past wearily.

So, here's a pic that DH snapped of the crowds that were really starting to pick up.

smDSC_5188a.jpg

We went inside once we hit France to cool down and hopefully revitalize a bit...

smDSC_5180a.jpg

I like to bug DD and tell her she resembles the gargoyle when she's chucking a fit. Bahahahaha!!!!

And of course we couldn't go through a day without trying something on our heads right??

smDSC_5176a.jpg

smDSC_5178a.jpg
