Aww Queen, I'm so sorry about your cousin. Awful enough that it happened but that his dad passed away not too long ago and leaving a young daughter behind makes it so much harder. We know how close that cross-Atlantic connection can be as all of my Dad's extended family is in Scotland and when something like this happens Skype just doesn't cut it.

Sorry I have been MIA for so long, I have been trying to keep up but its usually little snippets here and there on my iphone while the girls are at dance or swimming lessons and I just get ready to post when the lesson ends

Thank you so much Lara! Your words are so true...skype, facetime, just doesn't cut it. Peg's girls went and made Jemma (his little one) a build-a-bear yesterday ... they choose two outfits my sister said...one of them being a Canadian t-shirt! Jemma is a princess fanatic and they really wanted to get her a princess costume for the bear but they no longer have them at our store

It's such a busy time of year when you have little ones! Peg's girls have dance recitals and piano recitals coming up ... I love going to those! Mini Montana is particularly excited this year because Jeff is coming to watch her perform

Hi Queen! I wanted to check in and see how you are. I have been away for a few days - DH and I were celebrating our anniversary with a few days away together. Hope you two had a good shopping trip!

It's definitely time for a update! We made it to and from the states with no problems whatsoever! Our goal was to be in the car pulling out of the driveway at 730am and as we were pulling out we were all laughing because it was 729am...how good are we!

Here is a shot of the kids before loading up the car!

Trust me this was completely full by the time we were leaving to come home.
Our plan was to head to Tim Horton's because I definitely need my last cup of Timmies for 3 days, then Starbuck's for Jasmine's Venti Black Tea Lemonade, then finally McD's for sausage mcmuffins! The great thing is they are all right beside each other so by 815am we were on Highway 75 headed to North Dakota

I'll give you 2 guesses who took this picture....yup...not me...Jasmine! Jeff was sound asleep about 10 minutes after we hit the highway! As we were approaching the border Jas woke him up to see is he wanted to stop in a duty free and use the washroom so off they went.

Two of my favorite stores that happen to be right beside......

MY FAVORITE STORE OF ALL Jasmine ended up spending $90 here and I ended up spending $190....how does that happen so quickly...and I didn't get everything I needed...ok, wanted...but hey, a girl can wish can't she We decided once we were finished in Target that we would head to Fargo..all the other stores in GF we would do on Thursday on the way home if we needed to!

This was Jeff 10 minutes after getting on the highway.....

I have to say that Jasmine was in full shopping mode by the time we pulled off the highway into Fargo...why do I say this...because she didn't think to take out the camera and take anymore pictures! We stopped at Denny's for lunch and then headed to the mall! Both the kids managed to do some damage before we headed to our hotel, which I booked online thru hotels.com and got a room for $52 a night.....SCORE!!! It was such a gorgeous hotel and the rooms were immaculate!

The bathroom...Disney has spoiled us for having the vanity on the outside of the bathroom...but we made do!

We decided we would just relax in the room for a little while (I wanted to watch Oprah's show from the United Centre) and Jeff went off to the gym with Jasmine....ahhh, some alone time! After they got back and showered we headed out to dinner. Of course, there was no one in the lobby to take a picture of the 3 of us so Jasmine took this one....

then I took this one! I have to say...until we arrived home the camera never came out of my purse again....I completely forgot all about it! We had a great 3 days of shopping and how let me share some of our purchases...

Jasmine found this little jackets for $10 in JC Penney...she fell in love with it

The only thing any of us purchased at Kohl's was this top Jas found! Kohl's was a huge disappointment on this trip!

Dress she found at Forever 21 for $14.99!

Bathing suit she bought at Hollister...this was the only item she bought at Hollister and she bought nothing at Abercrombie...funny how different it is when she's spending her own money!

a little more makeup....can't believe how much cheaper makeup is for us to buy in the states than here.

....and a pre-Disney shopping trip has to include one of these little puppies....

Jasmine wanted to scream when we were in Target and she found the Chi hair straigtner she wanted to buy here but it was $250...I said no way....not even if we split it. In Target, the identical straigtner was $119.99....unreal...that alone would have been worth the cost of the trip!

We had a wonderful time...but I have to say...we'll probably make one more day trip down to GF before heading to Disney! Fargo is tough for the day because you spend 6 hours in the car...but GF in only 4!!!!

Aww thanks Shelley! We are doing ok....my sister's girls wanted to send my cousin's little one a build a bear so they went yesterday and picked one out for her and my sis will get it in the mail tomorrow. As you know my cousin passed away on Monday and Jemma's birthday was Wednesday so the girls wanted to get her something.....I love how they thought of this all by themselves considering they're 10 and 6!! My parents sent Jemma an Olympic Canada hoodie last year so the girls got the bear a Canada t-shirt! Too cute.

Happy Anniversary...hope you have a great time!! Nothing like a little getaway is there?

Hi Queen! Loved your shopping update! Jas sure did get some nice clothes!! LOVED your Minnie hand soap thingy!! Definatly agree about the make up being cheaper down there! I think that we stayed at that hotel on a trip down to Minneapolis to fly to Florida! We were going to try and do it in one shot, but couldn't! We tried the Holiday Inn and a few others, but no luck, and someone suggested the Ramada, and they had room! Not sure if that is where you stayed, but it looks very similar! Loved how Peg's girls are making the Build a Bear, that is very sweet! Definalty made with a lot of love and thought! I hope you all are doing well!!

It's funny what you said about not spending as much $ in the name brand stores when it's their own $ they are spending.
Congrats on the CHI purchase.
It will probably be a few years before Jas needs another one, but I found out that if you're able to keep checking in TJ Maxx, they will carry Chi & other name-brand hair straightners for dirt cheap.
I just bought a awesome straightener from TJ Maxx last week & I was so excited about my find.

I don't know if I told you. I drop $100 nearly every time I go into Target. I had to stop going there- Once a week adds up... We get prescriptions there and I send dh to pick them up so that I am not tempted.
