Hey all!! I've been home for about a month now (well a little bit more) and I have FINALLY gotten around to a trip report. The holiday kind of killed my time for a bit and then I was so upset that it was all just over like that! But I figured the best way to bring joy and cheer back into my life is to remember my wonderful trip to Disney.
DH (Greg) and I (Nicole) celebrated our very first anniversary at Disney World!! We were really married in October, but decided on December to enjoy the Holiday and also because we've been to Disney in October before.
So our journey, like most, started with the planning. That's a whole different thread (you can read if you're interested "Dec 2009 A Celebration of Many Things). And it really was a wonderful celebration of so much more than our wedding.
Picture it...Dec 3, 2009, 3:45AM. The alarm sounds and I'm in the shower in seconds. We gathered all our bags, Brynn (our dog, B for short) and piled in the car headed to my in-laws, aka taxi service. I even remembered to mail my Christmas cards on the way out!! I had it together!! But I was so anxious to get to Disney, seriously I could have burst.
We get to my in-laws, kiss B goodbye, and were off...
Needless to say, almost missed the plane. We left for the airport at 5:00/5:15 and we almost missed a 6:30 flight. Why you ask??
Well my mother in-law insisted on moving a glacial pace. She drove so slow, to the point where Greg was like, "Umm is there a problem with your gas peddle." LOL to which her reply was "Oh sorry I was talking to Nicole and got distracted."
So it just shows that my MIL can't drive and talk (I will ave to remember this for future flights)
We finally get in the airport and the line is OUT THE DOOR!!!
I almost had a heart attack and then realized, Oh right I am so smart I did the early airport check in. Zipped right in!! Which was good because by the time we grabbed some breakfast and sat down, it was time to board!!

And then we sat on the plane for 45 minutes!!! I was loosing it. I was so mad, and I really was about to have a fit. I'm a little bit of a control freak and when things that I can't control don't go my way...well I have a hard time dealing with such things.
Finally we take off
YAY!!! WE'RE TAKING OFF!!!!

Okay, so at this point I looked out the window and it was one of those moments. Like, complete peace and happiness. Look at those clouds, who couldn't be happy.
Woo hoo!! Almost in MCO
Okay, so neither one of us has ever used Magical Express. Oh how amazing it was!! It was so great to just arrive and go directly to Disney!
So we get to the ME line and I wasn't sure how it worked with the different resorts, but I did know that Ty was coming in at the same time and there was a chance I would see her. So I'm looking around and I see four very lost people, and I turn to Greg and I say, "THAT'S TY!!" We sadly only had time for a quick hello, but it was exciting to see someone who has been with me on my Disney journey for so long.
We get to Port Orleans fairly quickly and I must say I love Disney for the story I am about to tell you. When I originally made the reservation I had my heart set on Oak Manor. Well, it didn't work out, but not for lack of trying. Nevin (in training) and Amie, were so helpful and persistent in getting us a room that we wanted. There was just no room (damn Pop Warner kids, who on a side note were not really a pain, just all over the resort) but we ended up with a better/closer room. We were in the first building in Alligator Bayou, very close to the food court and bus stop.
We asked Amie's opinion (as it was a parade taping day) and she said it would be best to stay away from the Magic Kingdom, so we changed our plans and decided to go to DHS. First ride, Tower of Terror!!! LOVE IT!! Through the entire trip we probably rode it at least 15 times. Never gets old.
I opted not to take any pictures of DHS our first day. I wanted to be completely immersed in the joy and happiness of Disney. Plus I had plenty of time to take pictures. I wanted to spend my first day enjoying as much as I could and enjoy being with DH. And we did have a really wonderful first day. We were able to get on Tower of Terror and Rocking Roller Coaster a ton of times. Toy Story would have to wait to another ay, it was CRAZY! We grabbed a late lunch/early dinner at the Backlot Cafeteria. Yummy bacon cheeseburger! This was our first experience with our free dinning, and it was awesome. So glad we decided to take it, I really think we made out on this deal.
Once we left DHS, we went back to our room to get things in order. Later that night we met up with Erin (lovesmy3kiddos) and her family. And that was the start of beautiful friendship...
We had a few drinks in the River Roost and really had such a great time. Erin is easy to get along with because she talks a lot. Freddy showed up, (piano playing singer/entertainer at RR) but that didn't stop us, we just proceeded to talk louder and louder! I'm glad that this worked out, because Greg was a little nervous. He always expects the worst in things, LOL I guess that's why things always come out on the plus side for him.
Anyway, after our drinks we went back to our rooms and prepared for the next day. Greg and I were going to Epcot, this was going to be our drink around the world day!! Ahhh...you gotta love Epcot.
Until next time folks!
