We Could All Use a Little Help from our Friends...Come Join Us! :)

Welcome to the group Alyss & OKWAnneMarie! :grouphug:

Mini goals are good. If I put too much pressure on myself and the pounds don't come off quick enought then I just give up. So my mini goal is 20 lbs by September. Then when I reach that I will set another mini goal for myself. Say another 20 by December.

Magical don't beat yourself up we all have those days as a matter of fact yesterday was mine. We had a work picnic so I cheated a little. I just couldn't resist the strawberry shortcake but I ate lots of salad so that zeros out the calories in the dessert right?! :lmao: Got back on track with dinner.

Have a great day everyone and keep up the good work! :hippie:

I would love to join your group.

Hello All! Is it too late to join? My name is Alyss and I'm looking for some support buddies! I need to lose about 115 pounds!

Welcome to both of you. The more, the merrier. I'm trying to lose 60 pounds myself. I lost 61 pounds about 3 years ago and have kept it off, but I didn't have the staying power to finish the job. I'm determined to get those last 60 off.

Magical don't beat yourself up we all have those days as a matter of fact ..........

:thumbsup2

Good morning everyone. I have my gym bag packed for after work. I have my water bottle on my desk. And I am determined to do well with my food choices today. I have lost 2 pounds this week and I want to keep the momentum.

Good luck to everybody. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yeah Gina!

Well, DH just called and asked that we join weight watchers!!! :cool1: We are going to start the meetings next week. He was thinking the Atkins worked best for him but he came around!!! :cool1: I think WW is a great program!

WW is a great program!!! I joined about 5 months ago, and am ALMOST to goal! My goal was to lose 11 pounds(I was not that overweight to begin with). I have lost 10, but that last stubborn pound will NOT come off! I have been stuck for 4 weeks at my current weight. But.....giving up is not an option! :goodvibes I have come so far and have not been this weight since a few years before both of my kids were born(back in the mid 90's). Along with weight loss, I have lost 4% of my body fat. I am feeling pretty good now. My goals for the near future are these:

1) To eat more salads
2) To eat more fruit as snacks
3) Not to eat late at night
4) Try to move after dinner by taking a walk

WW is truly amazing and I wish you luck with the program!!!!:wizard:

Yesterday I did pretty well. I got a little bit of exercise in, not as much as I would have liked, but at least it was some.

Last night for dinner, I made rigatoni and meatballs. I didn't use that much olive oil for the sauce and I used a very lean meat. I was starving, BUT, I only had a small portion of the pasta, 2 meatballs and some salad (very little olive oil). I drank seltzer. I was proud of myself that I didn't have any bread or eat alot of the pasta. I also stayed away from ricotta (which I love to put on top of pasta). That was it for the whole evening.

This morning's breakfast was:

Kashi cereal with 1/2 banana, some blueberries & 1% milk.

6 oz of OJ (with calcium added)

Coffee with 1% milk.

Lunch will be:

2 slices of whole grain bread with 2 hard boiled eggs (Eggland's Best with the added omega 3's and less saturated fat).

2 cups of honeydew.

6 oz of OJ (with calcium added).

I will drink tea during the day (plain, without milk and sugar) and I ALWAYS drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

If I am hungry during the afternoon I will have a handful of almonds.

Not sure what dinner is going to be.

I will try to get my exercise in.

Welcome to all the new posters!!!

Great job everyone for losing and staying on track!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I am down 2.6 #s. This weekend is going to be hard. We are off to VT for my bro's bday party.

I will try and check in again later...I am trying to pack, etc. I am now making brownies for the trip...now if I can only have some will power!!!

Have a great weekend...thank you all for your support!!! :)

Don't give up it will get eaiser!!! :cheer2: Good job working out through the struggle! I walk around a lake a lunch (not as much as I should...) and when I started out it took me almost an hour... it's slowly getting eaiser and I'm definately getting quicker!!! Good luck to you!!!!

I'm too scared to start a weigh-in day... I know I should pick a day...but geezz....an offical weigh-in day terrifies me...does everyone have an offical day? Or do some people just judge by their clothes? Is that strange?

Here to meeting our goals!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi, guys! I did 8005 on the pedometer yesterday and I am hoping to hit 10000 today, but I'm still only at 4365. I hope my evening walk will help. :)

I had a 1/2 bagel with spray butter and coffee with skim for breakfast, an orange and a LC pizza for lunch and I am eating 0 point soup while I wait for BF to get me for dinner and I work on my project for school.

Welcome to all our new posters! I am glad to see others following WW. I am trying to sell BF on doing it with me, but he wanted to wait until the weekend to hear about it. (Too much info processing, I guess, lol)

I trying to follow WW since I think that is the easiest. I drank my water today yeh me. Drinking water is as much of a struggle and exercise with me.

Well I'm off the the bike in a bit after I do a little laundry first.

Good job everyone :cool1:

I lost 2 lbs :cool1: and I didn't think I lost anything. :woohoo:

Hope everyone has a great day I'll try to check in later before my nose become one with my new book.

Yesterday was tough for me.

I definetly didn't eat the best but we ate out every meal. I made good decisions based on the information I had though and the food choices that were there for me. I guess I can looks towards that as a great step.

I had the extra pts for the week so I think I am still on track. Weigh in is on Monday and I am afraid to weigh in. I may wait another week to weigh in, just in case I haven't lost that much. I don't want to get discouraged during the first week!

I actually weigh every day but I try to keep count of what I have lost in a week. I think you have to do what is best for you, but I enjoy seeing the numbers going down, down, down, even if it is only a very little at the time. I find it highly motivating and it keeps me on track better with my food choices.

I have found "going off the wagon" a little when eating out hasn't hurt me too much if I have made good choices the rest of the week. I weigh every day and the morning after a "Bad" day may add .5 to the scale. But we don't want you discouraged at weigh in, so do what you think is best.

It can be so discouraging to work so hard but wait so long to see the results. I worked a 12 hour shift today. Drove an hour there & an hour home. Came home & walked for 1/2 an hour & then did jumping jacks. I'm debating whether or not to do 20 minutes on the stepper before heading to bed. I just wonder, will it really matter? It seems that whether I work out for an hour or 1/2 an hour the results are the same. I'd just love to be one of those people who can lose 5 lbs in a week.

Try not to get discouraged. I don't remember where I heard it, but it takes a woman 6 months to change her metabolism. So it is slowly, but by doing all the exercise, you are changing your metabolism which will help in lots of ways.

I'm not a 5 lb a week girl either. I'm usually a 1 lb-2 lb/week person. But even if you lose it 1 lb per week, you would be 52 lbs lighter in one year. I know that isn't much comfort, but I have to keep telling myself that when the scale moves so little for me. Keep up your spirits. :cheer2:

Yesterday I did really well. I had an apple, a bag of low fat popcorn, and a huge salad with boiled shrimp and low fat dressing. We are supposed to eat out tonight, so I'll see how I do when faced with the yummy fattening choices in the restaurant.

Hello it's your happy plumpy Disneygal here. :wave2:

My goal is 90 pounds
want to work out 6 days a week. So far it's 4 and for a 30 minutes each time but I want it to be a hour+ I am happy to be here lets GO!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I hope that it's ok for me to join! I am a lurker....but time to engage!

My name is Beth and I just joined last week. I have spent the last two years and lost 65 pounds, but I do have 20 to lose. I have stalled out, and need the motivation to start again!

I am training for a marathon, and it doesn't go well with weight loss!:confused3 It's been hard to merge the two together, but I really want to get the rest of this weight off!

Beth

Those days of losing 5 pounds per week are definitely over for me. Between my age, underactive thyroid and being on a beta-blocker for high blood pressure, I have a really hard time losing weight.

I was so sure I lost alot of weight this week, but I lost less than 1/2 pound. So far for the month of July I've lost 3 1/2 pounds. I had a mini goal of 7 pounds for the month of July, but I don't think that will happen.

On the positive side, I had a good weekend. I ate well and I was active, so I feel good. I am really going to try extra hard this week, so I can at least be close to my goal.

That is a wonderful outlook. And your scale is moving in the right direction, even if it is much slower than you would like. So you are being successful.

Yesterday was diet disaster for me. I did really well during the day, but did not do so well at dinner out with DH. We went to a fondue restaurant and did the whole thing, cheese appetizer, food cooked in oil and white chocolate with fruit and cake for dessert. :sad2: So much for self control. However, my body was not at all happy with last night's meal and I paid very dearly for it. As my husband said to me around 5 this morning when my face was gray and I felt terrible "That must be what that new diet pill does to the folks who cheat." If so, I can see why the pill works, it wouldn't take more than one episode to keep me honest with the fat count.

I can honestly say I don't think I will have a hard time regulating my eating today. :rolleyes1 I hope I feel well enough to make it to the gym.

Have a wonderful and healthy day everyone!

Gretchen

Hi All and Welcome to the New Posters!!!

I am back from Vermont and have to admit that I went off this weekend but I will get back on track today. Right now I am eating a low fat english muffin with a smear of peanut butter...yum!

I have to get my water in today so I will go fill my WW cup. I am also making Balsamic Chicken tonight with whole wheat pasta and some type of veggie. The chicken dish calls for alot of olive oil so I am going to try and cut that back.

I really need to get on the treadmill but my ankle is still hurting and I have a ton of laundry to do.

Have a great day everyone!!!
