We closed! What do we do now? When to call ms?

So we got some pixie dust and we closed last Tuesday. Since we were leaving for WDW on Wednesday it was perfect because we could enjoy our trip knowing we were members and not worrying about whether we would close or not!

Now that tomorrow morning will be a week since closing and we are back home I am wondering what I should do.

Should I call member services and ask if I am in the system yet? I have heard conflicting things such as calling member services or asking for member administration?

Can anyone who has been through the process tell me what I should do next and when? We have a ressie we are hoping to make as soon as possible.

I'd call MS and see if you are in the system yet. They can check for you and if not, you can ask to sepak with Member Accounting for a timetable.

Many have been in the system within 7 days, but some have taken a few days longer.

Congrats! Hope you had a nice trip. Please let us know if you are in the system. I am about to close anyday now (gosh...I hope. I put my check and closing documents in the mail a week ago yesterday).
 
Here's my recent time-line:

11/10 - Contract went to DVC
11/30 - Passed ROFR
12/21 - Transaction closed
12/29 9 AM - Name in DVC system, but not points
12/29 2:30 PM - Points in DVC system and first reservation made
 

It took us about 10-12 days to be able to book. I called every day after the first week. They can look you up by name and/or social security number. As with the PP, first they saw us in the system without the contract and points, then a day or two later we had the pts and could book.
 
My timeline so far:
Dec 4: offer made and countered and accepted. papers e-mailed
Dec 5: went to ROFR
Jan 4: passed ROFR
Jan 9: got e-mail with closing docs...filled out and mailed back with check
Jan 12: our docs and check were received by closing co.

OP here. Here is where I'm at. Closed 1/10, called today 1/18 and name is in system but no points yet. I figure it's any day now so I'm excited.

Overall this was my timeline....
11/10 made offer
11/11 verbal acceptance*
11/14 faxed documents and overnighted deposit
11/18 sent to ROFR
12/13 passed ROFR
12/15 informed about ROFR, received docs, mailed closing docs and funds
12/16 notified our mailing was received.
1/6 seller returned wrong docs
1/10*received email that we had closed!
1/18 first call to ms. Name is in system but not number yet.*
 
I closed on Dec 7. Was in the system 10 days later. So I wouldn't have to wait, I asked MS to transfer me to Member Administration who was able to give me my Member ID and the info I needed to register and log into DVCMember.com.
I simply had to verify address, phone, etc and provide my contract and unit # off of my closing docs.

She told me that now that I had my member id# I was all set to call to make ressies!

So you folks who are in the system actually should be able to make reservations as soon as Member Administration gives you your Member ID.

Thanks for the tip. I called member administration back this afternoon and they had my member number. Then I was able to call ms and make my first ressie!

Well..... Kind of! They didn't have one of my nights available. I knew it woul probably happen though and I'm just glad to be in the system! I will try at the 7 month mark to get wait listed for the one night I need.
