I didn't literally mean around the world, but those long cruises are classified as world cruises. I forget sometimes on these boards you have to be exact. 4 months would be fine though.

YES, if I could afford it I would do one of those world cruises -- 30, 40, 60.....whatever amount of days would be great. I could live on a ship!

We sailed on Carnival Glory out of NYC and we were stunned at what a great ship it was having read such awful reviews over the years. The decor was gorgeous, the oceanview room much bigger than Disney's, the food was very good and we found the staff to be helpful, polite and informative. I'd do another Carnival cruise without hesitation.

Ocean view bigger???? Guess you don't enjoy split bathrooms also.

I just booked a 2018 Spring Break cruise with MSC. Their newest ship, the Seaside specifically built for the U.S market will begin sailing in late 2017. It's supposed to be amazing. I got a fantastic price on a Yacht Club suite. Their Yacht club is similar to NCL's Haven which we love. The other thing that is really cool is that they do status match for their loyalty club. I'm Platinum on both NCL and DCL. I filled out the form yesterday and received my email copy of my MSC Black Card this morning which is their highest level. One of the perks is 5% off your cruise booking so I gave them a call and the 5% discount was applied to my Spring Break cruise!

I would imagine they get their numbers from Disney and didn't go in and measure rooms themselves.

Sorry, but I've sailed in two oceanview rooms on Disney and they did not come anywhere near the size we got on the Carnival Glory. I understand the square footage they are showing, but the room we had was huge -- unless it may be considered the same as a family oceanview on Disney We had a full couch (not a futon), the bed, an extra table next to the couch and a coffee table and there was a vast amount of walking space left. Even the entrance hall from the door to the inside was bigger. Yes, the split bathrooms are the best, but when there are just the two of us sailing, we manage with one when the price is right.

The ocean view rooms on the newer ships are 230 sq ft with a split bathroom. The insides are the same size as dcls 11b cat. The verandah rooms are the same size as a 7c.

We were warned, so I will warn you. Watch out for the sea horses. They bite. On the staircases between decks there are brass seahorses at each hand railing. They are at a perfect height to knock into your legs and knees if you are not careful.

I should put this in my notes. I've read it a few times... We'll be careful.

Actually the split baths on the newer CCL ships are better than DCL, as there is a full 3 piece bath plus a 1/2 bath with a second sink and shower/tub. Personally, I would prefer 2 toilets instead of 2 showers, but with the Vista prices being what they are, we just book 2 connecting rooms and still pay way less than 1 inside on the Fantasy.

Good to know. I didn't realize they had two showers. I agree two toilets would be better. I booked a deluxe ocean view on the 11 night southern Caribbean Nov 16 repositioning cruise out of NYC. The price is incredible for that cruise. 2,752 with gratuities 3352. About 75pp per day. I am checking the website several times a day, hoping a Family harbor Ocean view opens up. I really wanted to do the Med itinerary, but I think NYC is a nice trade off... something new for the kids, and I haven't been there since I was a kid.

I liked having two showers on Carnival (Breeze) because I used to walk-in one to store the stroller . The tub one we used to actually take showers. The room itself was about the same size as our DCL rooms, but the second bathroom (the one with the toilet and shower) was obviously bigger than the toilet half on DCL. It was perfect for us!

I don't think it's the time of year. The 6,7, 8 day cruises on the Vista the first three weeks of Dec are nearly sold out and prices are high. The 11 night cruise on Nov 5 is nearly sold out, and nearly double the price. This is a repo cruise from New York and ends in Miami. These type cruises are never as popular even on DCL. Not sure why. This cruise does run through Thanksgiving week so that could also be a factor. Although Christmas week always sells. If DCL offered an 11 night cruise that ran over a holiday weekend I'm sure it would be really popular. I think some schools even get that whole week off. I've been kind of scratching my head as to why prices are still low for this cruise.
