We braved the 4th!!! AND the rain...and the crowds??? 7/1-7/8 BOOKED NEXT TRIP!!!!

We ate at Tusker House last June and Donald visited every table. We had our picture taken as a family before we sat down, but it wasn't with Donald. They must have changed things around.

We've only done the Safari twice....Jan 09: no collapsing bridge and June 09:there was a collapsing bridge. I guess it just depends on the jeep/tour guide/day of the week/etc. :confused3

Love the pic of the baby elephant! So cute!

Yummmm. Breakfast at Tusker House always looks so good. I'll have to get around to going one of these trips. But that's really lame about the no pics with Donald unless you buy the pictures thing. $30 for a picture is really stupid. And what's even more stupid is the fact that they print the pictures out beforehand. I wonder how many of those things they actually sell...it's probably such a waste.

I totally remember there being a collapsing bridge on the Safari too, but it didn't collapse for us this year. Every time we crossed one of them I'd brace myself for it, but nothing ever happened. :rotfl:

And I LOVE YOUR SHIRT!! It's so cute!

You are right, there used to be a bridge that almost fell. I guess they removed it at we also didn't have that.

Donald used to walk around. We refused to do the picture as we knew we wouldn't be buying it :) But we took pics with the others. Your pics are cute!

Haha! If I had known what the picture thing was all about, we probably would've skipped it too. It was too early in the morning to question why they were posing us with him, we just did what they said!

Great update! Good to see the blue sky!!! We were at Tusker House last September and Donald walked around then. We ended up buying the picture package because it was a REALLY good picture of all of us... but it was just the family, Donald wasn't in it then.

Blue sky! It was a miracle!! I feel like if it was a big family, OR a reeeally good picture then maybe I'd buy it....

Hmmm, no Donald was definitely outside...wonder why they changed it. Maybe people weren't buying the pics and they thought if they put Donald out there, more people would buy. :confused3

YES me too! And our driver even did the fake "Ooooh, this bridge....hope we can make it...."

A really good picture you say? I'd have to look like Heidi Klum on it to buy it! ;)

Great update...I think we are going to try and do breakfast there as well...I hope they will just take a pic of us with Donald with our camera..because we are already spending so much money for the trip! Im a little sad that its Donalds breakfast and he doesnt walk around like the other characters :sad2:

Looks like you had some great skies for your safari at least and got some great pics there! I have never seen AK anything but PACKED, so its interesting to see it empty

Had to get caught up, school is starting here Wed. and I've been buying school supplies and attending orientation at two schools. :upsidedow How's your throat feeling today? You really need to talk to Brad, he has major food issues too. He got choked on a cheese stick once and we knew we were going to end up in the ER with him! He hasn't touched them since then....he really ticks his father off! :rotfl: I was wondering if you and Tom were okay because this isn't your normal trip...you should have circled WS at least 20 times by now with drinks in tow. The rain really did a number on you guys! :lmao: I feel better now that you've mentioned drinks are still to come.
Your not crazy about the safari, the broken bridge was always in our tours. We even had it last July.
When we ate at Tusker House last summer Donald was walking around with all the other characters. They did offer for us to get a pic before we entered (with who I'm not sure) but we declined. They change things so often, I think just to confuse us. :)

Those $30 pictures drive me crazy! Same thing over at Chef Mickey's...but at least Mickey walks around! If it was $10 I would buy one every.single.time. What's $10 at Disney? But $30...that's more than a t-shirt!

Love the pictures of you on the safari with the animals, that's a great idea to pose like that! I already have 100s of safari pics from the trips, but none with any of us in it. :thumbsup2

As for the rickety bridge, we never had that in our safari until our September 2009 trip - so, I think there are 2 different paths they take in there, 1 with the bridge and 1 without. Not sure what determines what trip they are taking though. :confused3

Blue skies!!! :yay:

We didn't even think to have them take it with out camera...it was much too early to think! I always try to get pics with us in them...otherwise there's no difference between one year and the next. :thumbsup2

Can't believe school is starting!! Haha, funny that you were worried about us! Don't worry....you will see old Nik and Tom in no time!!

Seriously!! I would drop $10 in a heartbeat but $30? No way! Maybe they should offer smaller packages, I bet they'd make more money.

Thanks for the rickety bridge confirmation! Maybe it depends on time of day? :confused3

They should at least put the pictures on your Photopass. At least that way you would get a copy. DW and I bought the pics on our honeymoon but that was before DD came along.

I loved your Photopass pics from AK so early! :thumbsup2 I better get a picture with baby Simba this time, I swear, there is something about me where the photopass photographers just can't be bothered to put those cute little additions in!

Anyway, Tusker House looks like fun! That is a little ridiculous about the Donald pictures, I can't believe they will just throw them away if people don't buy them! :confused3 I have an ADR there for my November trip, so now I know not to even bother getting my picture with Donald! :rotfl:

They don't have the bridge that collapses anymore on the safari? I'm pretty sure it was there during our last trip...weird! :upsidedow

Happy you finally have some blue skies!!! :dance3:

we made the same comment about the picuture packages and how expensive they are all. It was the same way everyone we went. We asked for them to take our pictures with our camera at most places. I made the same comment to the person walking around as we were eating at Ohana's. I asked what they did with all the pictures and she said the same thing...they just chuck them out. Those were her words. I really don't understand how it is not more cost effective for them to just charge less and make it one picture instead of a million and $30 is too expensive. I asked if anyone actually bought them and she said way more than you would think. I guess that's why they don't mind printing them out. It probably costs $3 to print the sheet out. So maybe it's more cost effective for them, but not nice for us. Sorry...I know it was a bit of a rant.

No shaking bridge for us on Safari either, but I do remember it last year. Wonder if they just did away with it. I also remember our safari driver last year being much more crazy and the ride more rough. Maybe people complained??? IDK. It was much more subdued this year and we saw way more animals this time around.

Hey Nikki, We had the bridge when we were there after you...:confused3 That is absolutely awful that Donald doesn't walk around anymore! It is ridiculous for Disney to ask families to spend another $30...the buffet is already expensive, plus park ticket...I'll stop before this turns into a rant.

I love the blue sky. I hope it stays blue in your next update. You look so cute in your top and EARS!!

Donald used to walk around -- I hate the pictures they take before you eat! We never do them!

I just had to say that we have done KS countless times. (DD is an animal freak and she loves this ride!) We have always gotten the "shaky" bridge.:confused3 I didn't know that it ever wasn't shaky. :rolleyes1 Interesting.

Great update :thumbsup2

Some lovely pictures and I love your top :goodvibes

Its a shame you didn't get a picture with Donald, weird though you think you would seeing as its his breakfast!

That is a great idea!! That would make a lot of sense.

I think the photographer put us in all those poses because there was no one else around and he was probably bored! Haha! I think if you ask them if they have any special graphics, they might do it.

I completely agree with your picture rant! Haha! I'm sure it doesn't cost them much to print those pictures, how do they have the nerve to charge so much?!

Hmm, so you had the bridge. I guess it depends on driver, time of day, etc. :confused3

Aw, cute. I wish he would've walked around! Too bad...

It was definitely NOT shaky this time. I remember every bridge we crossed, thinking "This is the bridge!" but he just went over it slowly and we never "got stuck!"

Great update :thumbsup2

Didn't that shirt come out soooooooo cute!! I am so happy with the work that Cassi did! I highly recommend her!

OH BTW....the popcorn kernel shell??? STILL THERE!!

I am sooo frustrated! I went to the ear, nose and throat doctor yesterday and he scoped me and stuck his whole hand down my throat, said he was able to do a really good exam but doesn't see it. He said there was a little inflammation and gave me steroids for that but I KNOW the kernel shell is still there. I know it! I can feel it. I feel the actual shell, it's not just a feeling of swelling, I feel the actual shell attached to my throat...

I'm so scared that it's going to be there forever and no one will believe me. :sad1:

i do I have had that happen to me before it is a half shell upsidedown and it suctions right to your throat it really sucks. i hope it will work itself out for you really soon maybe the steroid will take the swelling down and will loosenit so it will come out I will keep my fingers crossed.

I'm sorry about the stupid kernel Nikki. I hope the steroids help :(

I was thinking about the whole picture thing. They should have an ipad or something like it and show you your picture. Then print only the ones people want. Much better for the environment! I should work for Disney! lol

That is a brilliant idea!! They would save so much money and paper! You should write them a letter!
