We Are the World Debut!!!!

I didn't like the song the first time. Don't think I'd like it the second time either.

I just watched it and thought it was bad!! It's disappointing that they would remake such an amazing song.

And what is with Jamie Foxx "mocking" Stevie Wonder. No good.

The only good part about that whole thing was seeing Josh Groban  and Pink's voice is always enjoyable.

Other than that not impressed at all. Do the people of Haiti not deserve a song of their own?

I was trying to pick people out of the crowd that didn't belong but the crowd shots weren't very long. I did see Randy Jackson and Julianne Hough :confused3

What??? People liked it? It was AWFUL. Tragically, depressingly, ridiculously awful. The singers were off the beat the entire time, the auto-tuned voices, the RAPPING, the hip hop, that stupid kid in the begginning. That one weird guy screaming in it. The producers need to be shot.

It was an embarassmet.

I agree-it was horrible.

Hated it! To me, it just didn't have that same "feel." When the original came out,you could really grasp the emotion and the comraderie of the group that was there. They worked hard to put the song out and make something they were extremely proud of. They all came together to make it work. This time around, it had the feel of "let's just get this over and done with." I am sure that this will aid Haiti big time, but to me it was not impressive in the least.

Meh...I was less than impressed. I loved the original. I loved the video of the hopeful Haitians, but didn't really enjoy the remix.

This. I thought it was AWFUL, really doing a disservice to the original.

:rotfl:

MTE!!!

I think it is okay, I liked the full version better. There was so much talent there, I could of done without the auto-tune. I also have no idea who that Justin kid is. I think the first I ever "heard" of him he was on some morning show the other day butchering up "Love Me", I was like "make it stop!!!!!"

I believe Ray Charles was in the original version, doing some ad libbing, and this was Foxx's tribute of sorts--he won an Oscar for playing Ray Charles in the film "Ray"; I don't think it was meant to be mocking.

Is there a list someplace of all the participants?

i hope so, b/c i didn't recognize half those people. after seeing it again, i have to admit, while it's moving, it's just not really that good. justin bieber kicking it off was just really ridiculous, and wyclef jean (i think) screaming and screeching was even worse. the auto-tune didn't bother me much, because i noticed it was used for the rappers, such as lil' wayne, and he admitted during the recording session that he couldn't sing at all. i suspect auto-tune was used to sort of mask the fact that they have little or no voice talent. the rap near the end was cool-i loved seeing L.L., snoop dogg and the rest rapping together. and as a PP said, jamie foxx's ray charles imitation was totally unnecessary.

For me it was kinda of cheesy, It didn't seem as heartfelt as the first one. This one seemed to be more celebrities trying just to be there to get 15 minutes of fame and trying to be on Tv

Seriously... Justin Beiber? Vince Vaughan, Jeff Bridges.. Really?

It was more of a publicity stunt..than a heartfelt rendition. If they concentrated on more established musical acts and not horrible fads (JUSTIN BEIBER.. I'm talking to you!) it would have been a better rendition.

Too many people, not enough power.

It was seriously a big pile of doo.

oh yeah, it was Ray Charles. My bad! But still, even though you portray someone in a movie 6 years ago doesn't mean that you are channeling that person for the rest of your life. I saw it as mocking, not a tribute.

I was not too impressed. I got a whole "look at me" vibe from this version. First version had true emotion. And did Celine really have to try so hard to recreate the famous Cyndi Lauper part? She looked like a fool IMHO. Jamie Foxx needs to give it a break with the impressions too. Yeah, Yeah, we know you played Ray Charles. It came across as comical to me.
