Good afternoon Connie,

Hope your day is going well. It was supposed to be raining by now but the sun is still shining. I swear I think I could do a weather forecast as well as our local weather man.

Too bad the hubby didn't say anything more about a May trip.

hello everyone!

our day started with alot of fun...we went to the library,,,fun, fun, fun! I brought Ashton to eat lunch and just was not happening. He was not complaining about anything but just kept drinking. So, I called my mom to see if he had eaten alot yesterday; no, he kept complaining he had a "bone in his throat". He had told me Sat nite his throat hurt, and told my mom sunday nite. So, I called and brought him in to see the doctor. She said there is a virus out there where it feels like daggers in the throat. Said his tonsils and glands are swollen but not red; to give him benadryl and motrin for the next three days and nights to help the pain.

We went to Abercrombie finally today (his doctor is on the southshore so we had time to kill) SO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS... WE WENT TO THE DISNEY STORE!!! not much on sale, I did buy three t-shirts (3 for $20-not a great sale); two for Chloe (valentine's gifts) and one for Ashton; a sun hat for Ashton(this was on sale), a Woody and Buckeye figure. I need to get Danny to go with me this weekend to the disney store in Gulfport this weekend to see if they have anything good on sale.

On a sad note: my cousin, who is 42 years old, died of a sudden heart attack yesterday morning. Danny spoke with a guy at the yard today who said he was sitting on a bucket waiting for a the job he was working on to be ready and just fell to the ground. My mom said she believes he had heart problems and he was a chain smoker. I hope this wakes Danny up to his smoking; but, I doubt it...he talks about quitting but I don't see it happening

First off, I am sorry to hear about your cousin. 42 years old is such a young age to die.

Second, I figured you must have been busy today. You're usually around the boards and I hadn't seen you all day long.

I sure hope that Ashton's throat starts feeling better soon. Hopefully, he'll recover quickly.

Congrats on the Disney Store buys. I wish so badly that our Disney Store was still open here in our mall. My mind and body say that but my pocketbook is smilin'. I used to go there all the time...probably too much.

I'm a former smoker too. Joe and I quit 2.5 years ago and I've never looked back. It was my birthday present to myself. I hope Danny finds his motivation to turn them loose. It is a really hard thing to do.

Sounds like you had a good day at the library and mall. I think we are going to the boat and RV show in Louisville this weekend....we're going to check out some things we dont' intend to buy.

that is an awesome gift!!! I wish Danny would give it up; the reason he started was so ridiculous for him to be at this point in his life is just sad, it has also given him sleep apnea. I'm always after him to stop for Ashton, Dayne, and Gwendolyn if no one else, for himself if he plans to be around to be a part of their lives as they get older. Although my lungs are probably so bad from his smoking and my parents (they smoked until about 15 yrs ago) Danny does not smoke around the children or in our house but does not think twice about lighting up if its just the two of us in his truck.

We have World of Wheels this weekend; I asked Danny if he wanted to go but he said the Saints game was enough excitment for the weekend!

Thanks! Kathy...I wish he would be serious about it...I even bought him Chantix when it was first available; his mom even offers to buy whatever he wants to try to help him get there. His dad has an artery diease that is intensified by smoking and alcohol use.

Ashton is feeling better I think or the motrin is helping with the pain...
my cousin's autopsy was completed today but I have not heard anything yet...but, I do know they felt it was his heart...not sure what type of heart problems he had but smoking did not help.

BTW: I picked up a complete idiots guide to WDW yesterday at the library...they really do have some great tips...need to keep reading...need to go and buy myself an updated version

Dayne's team won their game tonight!!! It is so nice when they win (being their last season) but, this was the first time I actually got on him...the three oldest boys (Dayne and two others) in the fourth quarter started showboating...they were 20 pts ahead...it was time to relax and let the younger boys on the team get some experience with their defense and offense. They were showing off for friends(on opposing teams) who were in the stands watching.

Ashton seems to be feeling better...although, I noticed he still has swollen glands and now has taken to clearing his throat or a small cough...sinus drip, I'm thinking.

My cousin did pass away from a massive heart attack. The sad part is he had been cleared by a cardiologist two months ago and was going to see a new cardiologist by the recommendation of an ENT in two weeks. I guess the message here is if something does not seem right keep pushing.

As for Danny I hear two/three times a day he is quitting but than goes buyanother pack. Tomorrow morning we are going to Sam's so I can pick up a tax program and we are picking up Nicoderm, hopefully he sticks with it. He told me last night he wanted to lose weight first so he won't get too big when he stops

Just need to home in time for the game...think we are going to my parents to watch the game...mom does not do football and Ashton doesn't either so we can watch in one room while they play in the other...

Hey! everyone
sorry I have not been around...trying to get our taxes together...also trying to get our homeowners insurance all squared away. We live north of lake ponchatrain but south of I-12 by about 3 mi...well FEMA has decided that north of I-12 is the new line of where you need to be for hurricane water! Although, if we flooded where we are, north of I-12 will not be any safer. Anyway, our insurance has used this excuse to triple our policy chg...so, I have been shopping....needless to say. The good news is we found a prm. for more coverage back to the original price we were paying the year after Katrinia. We just had to change our wind policy which was fine with us, we fell if we get any damage from a storm it will be wind or trees--not water.

I have been disney planning and shopping...secrectly still checking May out...if my taxes come in about where it looks like (I'm still waiting on info from Gwendolyn--her Avon sales and her SELU tution and fees) I'm hoping to talk Danny into that May trip or even the last week of April.

That's terrible about the insurance. Ours keeps going up too for no reason. I think I need to shop again too.
Were you there for Katrina? That was terrible. And now I feel really bad for Haiti. I donated today at Publix and Emily organized a drive at her school collecting items for Haiti.
Don't forget stick with NOVEMBER/DECEMBER. Trust me, you'll thank me then.
