OK! so here is the decision...and I won't drag it out...cause it's , but, only in the regard that I will not be meeting up with Leanne, Dana, Becky, Megan, Brandi, Lisa,......

we have decided to go with our orginial plan...

Joe does not think he wants to go in May (building a house might get in the way of that; and hey I don't want to get in the way of THE HOUSE!--means I get my house back and Ashton gets his own room!);
Gwendolyn reminded Danny its hot and rainy!!!! :headache:
Gwendolyn has also reminded Danny that he want to go to the beach for a week in June :beach:...

Dayne still does not know our decision...

than, we were talking about the Christmas decorations today on the ride back from his mom's today...and when I get home and on here and start reading Barbara's TR she lovingly left me a reminder WITH PICTURES(the beautiful castle all done up in icicle lights) of why I had chosen Nov/Dec from the start...Danny passed as I was reading and says..."see, I thought that is what you wanted to go back for"...IT IS!

so, as I said before either was a win win trip for me but it is sad knowing that I will miss out on meeting Leanne and everyone...(Dana you and I need to set a date to meet...soon)...

April & Becky, I hope we overlap in Nov/Dec and we can catch up with one another

Leanne I hope your mom & dad choose a date that at least overlaps our dates...but, we still have a little time to plan for that one...we need to concentrate on planning your awesome Magical celebration in May!!!

:wave2:
Connie

BTW: our trip at a value resort(two rooms w/a pin) with Universal, Seaworld, and FWB (2 seperate condos) all added on (this is w/o Joe's military deal) was over $3400( we just could not agree to cut down on what we wanted to leave out--I said the beach and Universal, Dayne & Gwendolyn said Seaworld, and Danny said postpone it all--except the beach :lmao: )...that is steep with Dayne's graduation...I had a Sr class bill waiting in the mailbox when we pulled up :rotfl2:

so, Dis planners and followers you are stuck with me through the countdown on my ticker to plan with!

:sad1: I understand. I'm 99.9% sure we will be there the Saturday before Thanksgiving and leaving the Saturday after. I don't know what days those are on the calendar, but that's when all of us are out of school and work so that's when it will be. Hope we over lap. :goodvibes

Well, we will chat while they are all gone without us. Don informed me that we will not be going on a cruise or a trip this spring. He is afraid that if he takes a week off and something (God forbid) he has to take more time off than that week than he won't be able to have his last day at work be Nov 23. Now I do understand his feelings with his dad being so bad and all. They don't allow much time off for funeral leave and I know he will need to take at least a week. I spoke with MIL tonite and he has just but shut down. He barely eats. Sleeping 20 hours a day. Cannot get out of bed at all now. I'm thinking the time is closer than we want but not close enough for him.

I understand it all. I just don't like it. But like other things in life you just deal with what is happening at the time and worry about the future later.

So now what am I going to do? My dear MIL says she wants to take a trip when this is over and fly (she never has). Maybe I could convince her to go to the World. Wouldn't that be a hoot? She has a dear friend from childhood that lives in Washington. I know she would love to go there. And she wants to go to Nashville and see Sandi. She may have me very busy later in the year. She knows I would take her. Her daughters would never take time off their jobs to do something she wants to do.

So here we are dear friend. Watching everyone go have fun without us. You'd think they'd pay our way so we could go.

Have a good nite. I'm watching this game and going nuts.

Leanne
at current we plan to be in Orlando on the Friday night after Thanksgiving...so we may just overlap enough to plan a meet...even if its something in DTD...we have time!

But, that is certaintly something to add on the list to look forward to!

I'm sorry Ginny, Texas did come back! shut down AL in the thrid but could not hold down the SEC for the total game!

I'm not sad that I'm not going in May--because I will be going in NOV (you can plan a trip w/ MIL and Don than (it will be after his retirement...Disney and Disney cruise...I can make this really a great retirement gig!)

But, yes gladly I will stay home on the computer that week chatting with you my sweet friend...and we too will meet this year... a weekend drive --half and half may be just what we need to look into!

I hope we can work something out. I don't know exactly what day their ceremony will be on because Joe won't be able to meet up with us until Wednesday evening. I would assume they would do it Friday but you never can tell with my folks. :rotfl2:

BTW, I"m sure between all of us that we could pay for you guys to come with but I know very well that neither of you would leave your family's to come along. :goodvibes We will meet up one of thes days when life stops getting in the way. :)

Ginny, Sorry to hear you aren't getting your cruise or road trip any time soon. I will add FIL and your family to my prayers. Sounds like MIL has some fun adventures planned for you though. It's very sweet of you to help her when her daughters won't. My husband has 3 sisters and NONE of them check on their parents. It's such a shame. I'm so thankful that my family is so close. :goodvibes

Have a great night ladies!

Thank you for that Leanne. My mom and inlaws live only 90 miles from us so we do see them frequently. My inlaws will have been married 64 years in March. My mother has been widowed 3 times and her name is Mary so the kids call her Mary and Bury. Sounds evil, but if you know my mom it's pretty accurate.

Stay warm. It is still very cold here. up to 0.

Connie, how is your day? Hope you are staying warm as well. I heard it got a little chilly down there.

Sheri and I are going shopping when I get off work today. She has been home with her family too many days in a row. She needs a girls day. We will just hit the mall so we won't have to go in and out so much.

Give hugs and kisses to my little man.

Ginny:hug:

Hello! all
we are spending our day jamming to "The Princess and the Frog" while we play...

this past weekend Danny and I had fun without Ashton...we tried to have a total kids free weekend but Dayne had his first basketball game Saturday night...THEY WON!!! hope it is a great season for them as it is their last season to play

Danny & I went to MS on Friday afternoon just to do something...bought the soundtrack and loving it..today! time to start our lessons again...tomorrow we start back to the library...

Have a great day! all and Ginny sweet XOXO have been shared with lots of tickles...
:wave2: Connie

Hi, Connie! Glad you had so much fun this weekend. I bet having no kids was very relaxing, in deed. And how nice that you got the P & the F soundtrack. I just know the children are really enjoying it. Good for you for going back to the library. Mitchell and I have taken a long hiatus from going, but I think it is time that we start going back again. (I am not much for going too far from the house when it is cold. I can't STAND to get cold and fool with coats and scarves - I'd rather just stay home wrapped in a blanket)

Too bad about not getting to go in May. I know it stinks not to get to meet up with so many of your DIS friends, but you will be grateful when you see the beautiful Cinderella castle all dressed up for the holiday. And Christmas music is playing in the background making your heart swell with happiness and your eyes well up with "I can't believe I'm here at Christmas" tears! Trust me, the feeling will overwhelm you. It's even MORE Magical at Christmas!!!

Ginny: Bummer about not being able to go on your Spring Cruise. That really stinks. I hope that DH takes you on some sort of trip soon - you are well overdue, I think. Our May trip to the mountains may be off, too. I mentioned it to DH yesterday, and he said "who said we were going in May?" My response was "YOU."

He said he didn't know if he could do it in May or not b/c that's busy season at work. Well, I say that work will be there when you get back and you can take your vacation any time you please. Besides, if you want to go when there aren't many crowds then this is the time to go.

He said, "Well, what about August? Like before?"

I said, "Have you forgotten your child starts school this year?"

He said, "We'll take him out of school." I said, "You can't do that. And if you did, it would be like within the first two weeks he started."

"Oh."

"So, if you want to go before the crowds, then May is the only time we can go this year."

"We'll see." :headache: (which probably means he's gonna choose his stinkly old job over a fun-filled family vacation. DH doesn't do crowds and if we go when it's crowded, I can guarantee that no one is going to have a good time)

I just this pre trip report today. I am subbing because we are planning to go at the same time as you this year. We will arrive the Friday after Thanksgiving and stay until the following Saturday. Eight nights. I haven't booked it yet because I am waiting to see if they offer a deal for that time. Have you booked yet? I am sure it will be fun following along your pre trip report.

We went those exact dates back in 2006. The weather was lovely and comfortable for shorts even, during the day. The crowds were low (compared to the last three times I went, it was HEAVEN! We went for two Spring Breaks and one the week of Thanksgiving.)

I'd give anything to go that time of year again.

You should have a wonderful time! Congratulations on your upcoming trip.

:welcome: along for the ride...yes, I am excited to be going that week, I have heard the crowds are low and the weather is wonderful. I was trying to go in May instead but just not in the cards....it will be fun planning along with you. I, too, am from LA (I'm sure you figured that out already--Ponchatoula) where are you from?

No, I have not booked yet. I received a pin through June and I hope that I get another one for November, free dining, or something good! I was going to book next month, but not sure if I should do a room only or a pkg...you can book a pkg and when a deal comes out you can transfer it over. But, if you do room only they have to cancel theroom only ressie and rebook the package. So, at this time I am thinking of doing the pkg and putting the $200 down and start paying.

At current the PTR is alot chit chat but I do have ADR ideas and things I would like to see and do; feel free to join our chit chat and planning...

I look forward to getting to know you and sharing in our magical adventure together!!!

Hey! Mel thanks! for sharing...sorry to hear about DH; I'm sure he'll realize what you said was right and will change his mind and act like it was his idea (about May and not August due to school) :lmao:
have a great day!

Thanks I am glad to know it will be nice. We have gone three times so far for Mardi Gras. We don't do Mardi Gras and it is also a nice time to go to Disney World. We just really want to see the Christmas decorations. I need to start my own pre-trip report soon.

Hey! Mel thanks! for sharing...how is the day going?

Thanks for the welcome. I am from New Iberia. It is south of Lafayette. I got the same pin you got. I am also holding out for a pin or free dinning or some good deal. I love pre trip report chit chat because you get to know other DISers before your trip. On our last trip I met a few lurkers from my pretrip report who introduced themselves to me in the parks. It was fun. The saw my AWESOME lime green Baglini and decided to come talk to me. I was super excited. We went for Mardi Gras 2009 and I just couldn't believe the people from here we met up with. We even met up with one of my ds's teachers. I can't wait to hear all about your plans. When I start my pre-trip report I will post a link in my signature in case you want to follow along. Have fun planning.

Hey Connie!

How's the weather in South Louisiana? We warmed up a little bit today but it's still too cold to me. You know my saying..."if it ain't snowing, it ought not be cold". :lmao:

Just wanted you to know that I've finally started my pre-trip report. I decided to go with Over the River and Through the Woods to Mickey's House We Go! And Grandma's in Tow! I've posted the link in my signature.

Hi! Lisa
it warmed up here today, too! but it is still cold...suppose to get back to normal in the next few days...along with some rain. I never thought I would ever say this but I can't wait for the rain and humidity...my skin is screaming over here; I have NEVER had dry skin! Danny and I went to Target last night to buy some intensive lotion of any kind...he is tired of the oil slick in the shower from all the baby oil I have been using :rotfl2:

Love the PTR title...I sing the verse everytime I read it!

I can certainly sympathize with the dry skin. My legs are horrible. I have been "lotioning up" the last week or so and it's helped a little bit.

I see that you've come over to the pre-trip report. I couldn't think of a better title so I went with one of the ones I suggested to you guys before.

We are suffering from the yucky dry skin here too. Poor little Gracie is the worst. I also thought I would NEVER miss the humidity. I am still cold. I hate the cold the only good in it is I get to burn the fireplace. I am not built for cold weather. I went visit my SIL in Colorado and I kept my coat on in her house. I was miserable cold. We should warm up by the end of the week.:thumbsup2
