He thinks because he was in Iraq he is able to take care of himself...he has no clue the difference between real world and war!! he had a gun and a unit with him...not his girlfriend and a small handgun...not to mention his body is shot...his injuries took it out of him...I really don't care if he was a Marine or not with my daughter on the side of a road...she sent a text what can happen?!? I told her nothing...

I didn't want to tell her...let's see they have murders, rapes, burglaries, and no telling what else at rest stops!!!uuugghhh!!

I bet Danny lets him have it Sunday when they get home...Danny is tired of the way Gwendolyn and Joe talk to Ashton!!! they have been calling him a baby when he does things...when they take the time to play with him its great; but, they think they can correct him--NOT!! no more than they can correct Dayne!

can you tell I'm fit to be tied!!!

I know you are kind to let them stay with you but Joe needs to get a job and an apartment. It is your house and they don't help you take care of anything. You and Danny are still in charge. I see rules in your future.

I would have said the same thing to Gwendolyn. There is no reason to scare her more than she already is.

It will be better in the morning when they make it where they need to be.

I have to let her stay here...it is her home! If he can work he can be reenlisted...neither of which is going to happen...although he did not have a stroke; his brain injury is basically the same. He has NO memory!!! his speech is very slow and takes a while if he has to think about what he is saying...
he is a smart kid just has a lot of issues...
but, the jerkness comes from his home life...he will always say what his dad's way is...that is why he is living with us and not his parents...so, he needs to sit back and learn our rules...

we don't want him to feel uncomfortable and not interact with Ashton; Ashton loves him but he does need to learn the boundries and how to speak to a child...he is always trying to reason with him :lmao:

and I have a very big problem with what he did tonight!!!

she just text to say they are back on the road and they are arguing now...oh well maybe being upset will keep him awake for the next six hours!!!!

Well, I just filled Danny in on last nights commotion; his comment "Gwendolyn is going to have a hard road with Joe until they both grow up." Let's face it Danny & I are still learning to live and do things right!

About Joe, a job, and an apartment! we agreed to let Joe move in with Gwendolyn(she was living with him in his apartment) while he builds his house (which he finally has it all together to start-now waiting on the weather-so hopefully only 5/6mo longer), he makes a decent living w/his disability and retirement from the Marine's, he is trying to become a helicopter pilot...he has his personal license and currently working on his commercial. Now, I know your next question is can he do that...well he is not on any medication except a daily dose of ibuprofon (sp), his reaction time is well within the limits, as I mentioned before he is very smart just has speech problems the part of the brain for speech was affected (he takes a few seconds to put thoughts together into speech--knows what he wants to say, just has a hard time finding the words-that is his hardest problem to deal with for him and us). He suffers from joint pain and he has memory problems...he is suppose to be taking some class the VA is providing to help him redevelop his memory starting in the spring.

As I said he is a good person, just has alot of immature ways and a lack of judgement that comes with the age...he is much more mature than most boys his age; but, still young.

Thank you for letting me vent ...I woke up at 4:15 and text Gwendolyn to see where they were and she has not responded so I just pray they are at their destination and safe. We have Chloe today so we are going to try and do something fun today when ever we wake up! I plan to try a get a small amount of sleep after I get Dayne off to school!
Everyone have a great day!!!

Good morning Connie. I pray today is a better day for Gwendolyn and Joe. I don't think I actually knew his issues altogether. You hate to see your children have trials that you can't help them with. Prayers are with them on this journey to keep them safe.
It is so hard to have an additional member in your home (we have done that one). But you are right he just needs to learn your rules and how you want things done. It will work out, it is just going to take time.

Let me know how things are today. Enjoy Chloe and give my big Peter Pan a hug and kiss.

Hope your day goes well

Ginny

Today is going to really try my patience...looks like a fun day w/Chloe will be a challenge. When she spends that week by her grandmother she comes here in an unacceptable mood!!! She is ugly to Ashton and he is so happy to see her after not seeing her for a week!!! It will be this way until Monday and she is back into the swing of things...

To top it off; because I did not sleep last night I have a massive headache so her ways is really getting me upset! and because she has hurt Ashton's feelings he is being clingy and whiny...should be better in about an hour...

BTW: still have not heard from Gwendolyn & Joe so I am guessing they are there and sleeping!

Everyone have a great day!!!! the weather should be getting better for us here in the south after today!!! :sunny: hope it is getting nicer where you live!
:wave2:

Connie, I am sorry for what you had to go through last night. That would have frightened me, too! I am leery of rest stops at night and gas stations, especially if you don't really know what part of town you are in. I hope that you hear from Gwendolyn soon. Please let us know when you have heard from her.

I am going to try and get through this day. So far, so good. Rain again, but where's the surprise there? When I get off from work, I'm going to go pick up Mitchell and take him to the Library. We've done it every Thursday for the last three weeks and I consider it special time together. Last week we just colored a picture - he helped me with mine. It was so sweet!!! :lovestruc And I believe that Mitchell has begun to look forward to Library Day, so I'm excited to take him. Of course, I don't get home until after six and still have to cook, give him a bath, catch my new show Flash Forward. But it's still worth it in the end!

I hope that you have a good day with the kiddos and maybe you'll even have a pretty day. Sorry to hear about your uncle. I hope your family is dealing okay.

It is one of those days where your patience is going to be on trial. I'm sure that is so hard for Chloe when she doesn't have the same rules when she goes other places. It is too bad her grandmother can't figure that out. I hope your headache gets better soon. I'm thinking a quiet morning is best for everyone. Hope you hear from Gwendolyn soon.

Library day is fun. We have done that with our girls and grandchildren too. I was privledged to take all of the grandchildren to get their cards. Have a great day. It is my late day so I know I will be busy. Give Mitchell a hug and kiss from me please.

Love you all.

Ginny

Oh Connie,

I just caught up with all of yesterday and today's talk. I am sorry that you are having to deal with the whole Joe/another person living in your house situation. I know it has be tough on you guys. I think I'd be laying down the law pretty darn soon or Mr. Joe will have to find some other place to live. As you said, he is making it living on his disability and retirement. Don't let him snooker you with a sob story.

I certainly do not blame you for being p.o.'d when Joe pulled into a rest area and slept. While I am not an overly cautious person, I always make sure to take in the goings-on when we stop at a rest area. There are some very bad people in the world and they prey on easy targets. I don't ever want to be one of their easy targets.

Hopefully, you'll hear from Gwendolyn soon and you won't worry any more about where she is.

Try your best to just relax. I, as a Mama, know how hard it is.

It's supposed to rain again today. It's really black outside so I am sure it'll start soon. Hopefully, today's the last of the rain for several days. I sure hope so. All this rain has us all in a funky mood.

It was very special watching Mitchell get his card. I don't know exactly why that is, but perhaps it's because they are growing up! Which is sad and good all at the same time.

Yes, I will give Mitchell your love for sure! Sending some love your way, too.

I'm sorry you're going to be busy today. I hope those people make it easy on ya. Friday's usually kill me, so I'm trying to get my desk cleaned off today so that I don't lose my mind tomorrow. Last week I was so bumfuzzeled, I actually lost an entire document. I still can't find it! :confused3

Connie: Hang in there, sweetie! It is hard for children to adjust in different environments. Poor Peter Pan - getting all excited to see his friend and her just shooting him down. :guilty: Maybe she'll get in a better mood soon.

Thanks! everyone...
I still have not heard from Gwendolyn...but, Peter Pan and Chloe are now playing well together. As I said earlier usually about an hour it takes her to start getting back to life as we like it! :upsidedow

Mom just called my uncle passed away around 4 this morning...so, thankfully he is at peace now!:littleangel: My aunt had said she was not doing a viewing and funeral; but, I guess my cousin wanted otherwise so now we will be visiting Saturday morning... So, I guess my plans will be changed for the weekend; maybe we'll take Peter Pan see Danny's parents Sat we have not been there in a little while! (Danny goes everyday when he works--so, he rarely wants to go for the weekend! )

The thing with Joe living here; I was uncomfortable with it from the beginning...I don't like that they are not married...but, I caved in to Gwendolyn...and his parents would not help him build his house:headache:
Oh! well its done and now and he just needs a quick talking to! I just wish Danny would do it; instead of me!:headache: and I know it is hard to adjust to other peoples ways--it took Danny a long time to learn how I wanted things:laughing:

Have a wonderful day!!! everyone

Connie, I'm so sorry about your uncle. We all know it is certainly for the best but it is so hard on those left behind. Will be thinking of your family during this time.

Glad Princess C is playing nice now. I know Peter Pan is too.

I know when we had our live in it took a bit for him to understand he had to live by our rules. I want things to work for Gwendolyn

I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle. You know that he is in a better place and is not suffering any more. I will pray for your entire family that you'll find peace knowing this.

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle, Connie. It's still not easy, even when you are expecting it. I hope the family is doing okay.

Glad Princess is feeling more sociable now! :goodvibes I hope that you and the kids will have a good day.

Danny may be more effective while talking to Joe. You know, put the fear in him! It's a shame to say, but Joe may find it easier to obey rules that come from Danny than from you. Mitchell doesn't take much stock in what I say, but he does when DH tells him to do!

Any word from Gwendolyn yet? And here I was telling you to calm down. What can I say? It's the Mama in me.

 Lisa, I was just walking over to the computer to tell ya'll she just text to say they made it around eight...:confused3 -- I sent back why did it take so long...no response to that one?!?
I wish I knew exactly where they were...but, everytime I asked all I got was ??? somewhere on the Atlantic coast the last thing he told me was he thought San Pedro. I need to look it up and see if there is a such place!

But, I do feel better to know they made it and won't be back on the road until Sunday! I just hope they get happy, now!!!

Thanks! for worrying with me :grouphug:

I am so glad she is wherever she is and safe. That helps a lot just knowing. Maybe that is why it took them so long they weren't real sure where they were supposed to be?

I know it will make your day better. Just hearing from her.

I thought so...San Pedro is in CA!!! :headache:
I have no clue where they are...

talking to her now she says she is in Fernandina Beach florida; she said it is beautiful!!!

Well, I'm glad you actually found where she is. That is a blessing. Maybe next time Joe will find out more info to pass out before he just takes off. I will hope so anyway. I know you are relieved.

I'm with her. I love the beach. Unless of course a storm comes and I'm out like flint.

Many hundreds of years ago we were going to New Orleans and we had driven all night. Along about Alexandria we tried to find a hotel and none were to be had. It was Memorial Day weekend. So we pulled into a state campground. We had a travel trailer. About 2 in the morning everyone came piling in to party hearty. We loaded the girls up so quick and had the trailer ready to go in like 10 minutes. Don and I were really scared. We never did that type of thing again. I think we drove to Shreveport and we found a Holiday Inn. I went in and asked for a room. Didn't ask the price I didn't care. We slept in till 9. Had free breakfast. Let the girls swim then went on our way. I think it was like $60. That was alot back in the mid 70's.

You could come see me if you are bored but it's not a lot better here. Rainy again and cold. This is before the front comes. We are to be down to 28 this weekend.
