So funny, because last September when we got off the ship we vowed to only take one Disney cruise a year and we had already booked our September 2016 cruise while on board. Clearly we are weak and obviously deluded as we have sailed in January on the Fantasy and have now booked another one for May on the Dream.
Although, the May cruise is to celebrate my husbands 50th, so that is a darn good reason for going against our vow of Disney Cruise restraint.

Happy sailing everyone. :)

You sound very much like us. We sailed our first time September last year, booked a placeholder which in early January we used to book our cruise for this September. Wellllll the more we sat and talked about how much we loved cruising and DCL the more we thought we couldn't wait. My wife's birthday was the end of January so guess what we did...a Disney cruise on which we booked a cruise for the day after thanksgiving. Enough right?? Oh no, 7 months till our next cruise was just too much so we booked one to celebrate my birthday in April a little late on 4/29 lol. We'll be gold with DCL 14 months after our first cruise ever.

I ended up making this and sticking it on my car this weekend lol

One of my favorite chapters is "I won't pack as much this time".

MJ

I am really going to stick to that one on this cruise. lol We will probably only end up with 4 suitcases instead of 6. And one carryon instead of three. :)

So true. :) We will be hitting Platinum soon enough and Gold went really fast too. It is the best type of vacation for us to take because we can disconnect from the outside world for awhile. No phones, (I turn it off and leave it in the safe the time we are gone) no email, and we don't get the internet package. It is fantastic.

Ditto. Anytime anyone asks about the internet package on the boards I answer their question but tell them they really shouldn't use it unless they absolutely have to for work or family. I give work and family the number to our ship and stateroom and call it done. The phone hits airplane mode or off after we board.

Last time we were onboard someone was using QVC on their phone, I was like really... Parents please don't get your kids an internet package just so they can spend the entire cruise on Facebook. Disconnect and enjoy time as a family. It truly is the best part of cruising.

Absolutely. Mine are 13 and 14 and just leave the phones at home now. Friends know and the kennel knows where we are but we don't even leave the phone number anymore. It is not like we can do anything about any issues while we are on the ship anyway since they aren't going to turn the boat around.
No, we like to be blissfully unaware in our fairytale bubble.

I usually take more than one cruise per year, but most are not Disney cruises. My last Disney cruise was the May 2015 Transatlantic. I booked a placeholder cruise onboard, but I don't think I'll be on another Disney cruise before it expires in May 2017. Instead, I will have sailed with Royal Caribbean (multiple times), Princess (on a ship right now), and Celebrity.

Unlike some, I spend very little onboard cruise ships. The fact that I don't drink alcohol saves me a lot of money!

I sailed the 9 night Norway sailing in June. Then I sailed a 7 night S Caribbean in January. Now, I'm awaiting a 3 night CL wedding cruise on the Dream in Oct and then back to CL for 4 nights on the Dream in December. All while awaiting release of the 2017 European itineraries. Where I'm hoping for a 12 nighter.

Cruising is very addictive. When we booked our first cruise in 2005, it was a "once in a lifetime" trip. We have now taken 7 cruises with Disney and going on number 8 later this year. We also, totally disconnect from our phones/computers/tablets while on board and just enjoy being a family. The phones get put into the safe after we call our families to let them know we are safely on board and they don't come out until we charge them up the night before we get off.

I was just reading in my trip report from our first cruise (in June 2014) that I didn't think we would probably cruise again for another few years. Fast forward and we're soon going to be taking our third cruise within three years. :P

We don't spend much either. One cruise, besides tips, my bill was $13, lol.

Same here. We booked another one for spring 2016, then did it in November 2015 (six months after our first). But then, we decided to go on our next cruise with MIL and FIL... in April 2017. I tried to convince them to go earlier but they are currently not knowing what they are missing and won't change the date. (FIL refuses to experience warm weather before having to go through winter, therefore he wants to cruise during spring only).

To quote Cordelia in Buffy (or Angel?) : "Nobody has suffered like I suffered." LOL

So here I am, almost dying, having 400 days to wait before our next cruise.

I'm starting to feel this way. We just did our first last month. I have completely revamped my way of thinking because of DCL... I used to love to go out to eat, was planning heated seats in my new car this summer, none of this seems to matter when a Disney cruise is on the horizon.

Exactly how we feel and why we choose this type of vacation:)
