We Are Here!!!!

We made it safely & are set up. Grilling some burgers right now! Our GPS took us to Wilderness Lodge, so my DH had to do a lot of turning around!

When we finally pulled in, there was no waiting. We did online check in, so it didn't take long at all. It's so beautiful!

We are in loop 1600 & are excited to explore!

Love your set up, I have to say I think outdoor kitchens were the best invention ever for campers. At least I know I love mine. Hope you get time to post more pics!

Glad you guys made it in safe. I love seeing those signs for the first time on my way in. Your kids look cute all hugged up there in front of the camper, I bet they are really excited.

Looks like you landed a very well shaded site. Any water standing around you or is it pretty dry?

You guys have a great trip and if the opportunity comes up for more pics, you know I like pics, then don't hesitate to post away.

Ok, I typed out & posted a ton of pics to y'all last night & when I went to post it, I was timed out!! I'll do my best!

Our spot is nice & shady. No standing water when we arrived, TiggerDad. The ground was damp, though, b/c I took a huge fall after we got set up. Long story, but I was standing on the back bumper reaching in & my foot slipped. Ouch!!!

My husband had to maneuver the TT in here with a small tree across the road in a most trying spot, but he did a wonderful job!! My job was to make sure he didn't hit anything...success! Not too many cross words were said .

After we got set up & ate we went to explore. Wowza! This place was packed!!! The holiday crowd was in full force. We got knocked off the sidewalk by a lady on a scooter!!

We shopped at Meadow Trading post. My girls wanted to touch everything! I wanted to buy everything! But, I try to wait til the end of the trip for that. I'm really loving this rocker.....



The girls played checkers & hopscotch. After the saw the pool, that's all they wanted to do. So, we set up the cable & they swam & slid until dark. On the way home we walked through the site u a ways from us.







We did EPCOT today & planned to do the campfire tonight, but are too exhausted!

Tomorrow is Magic Kingdom!

Hi, I'm coming in on Monday the 12th. I noticed on the official WDW website that the Meadows Snack Bar is "Closed" and that the swimming pool activities are taking place at the Marina. Can you confirm that the Meadows pool area is closed? If so, what's going on there?

You had me a bit worried there. I'm not sure exactly where you read the snack bar was closed but the pool is open and no scheduled renovations listed. I believe they updated their pool around 2/3 years ago.

We were at the pool last night! Seems the snack bar might have abbreviated hours, but it's all open!

That's really good news. I saw the "closed" message on the WDW site. I was looking at my reservation and clicked on "schedule" for the Fort and a list of shopping, dining and recreation came up with all the hours. It was dated January 12th since that's my first day there. Shows the snack bar "closed" and the pool activities are listed as the "Fort Wilderness Marina".

Believe it or not, three years ago we checked in and the pool was in full swing, the next morning we woke up to the sounds of the chain link fence being installed around the pool, we were on loop 1500. We spent the next two weeks listening to the construction. It was terrible. Not our peace and quiet time we love. I hope there's nothing scheduled there this trip.

We went to the campfire last night & the snack bar at the pool IS closed! There were still lifeguards at the pool & it was open.

It was warm enough to swim earlier in the week, but not today!!!
