My parents are celebrating their 40th anniversary this autumn and they have never been to a Disney park (not sure how their only child turned out to be such a Disney nut, this will be my 5th trip, I've been to WDW twice and will have been to Disneyland by then as well!) So we decided that it would be nice for them to see where we like going so much. So we are booking a trip to DLP for us all, paid for by me!! I am so excited!! Now my parents don't do thrill rides (my mum has a bad back) so it won't be centered around riding the coasters, more of a nice break in a nice place. My parents help run a steam railway (the one used as Hogsmead in the Harry Potter films!) so I suspect we may spend a while on the steam trains!!

So seen as we seem to be making a habit of DL trips lately we have also decided to buy some shares. I figured the 10% saving on the packages and 15% off meals would actually get us our investment back!!

I can't believe this year I will have 2 DLP trips and a Disneyland trip. 2008 is a great Disney year for me!!

So I guess now I need to buy the shares and then book the package when my share details arrive!!:cool1:

I'm sure your parents will love DLP and enjoy the detail.

MIL and FIL who thought DLP was only for families with children had a great time when we took them a couple of years ago.
They are going to Porta Ventura with SIL and her family this year. But I suspect that will be a very different holiday ;)

I did exactly the same thing for my parents they had been the year it opened but not since-so for their 40th anniversary I took them back (well there anniversary was May i took them to see the xmas season) it was fantastic.

To present them with it I made a power point slideshow to 'when you wish upon a star' and detailed all the adventures i had at my previous trip interjected with pictures so they thought they were watching a little show i made of my experiences at DLP the previous year. Although subtly there was a little theme running through it that said how "despite all this fun i felt something was missing so i had wished upon a star and was waiting for it to come true...." (again they thought it was me being cute)

then towards the end of the show it said we were "going back to disney again and thanks to some fairy dust part of our 'wish' was coming true and their was extra fairydust to fly" (cue pic of BA plane) "and extra room in the log cabin" (cue photo of double room at the Seqouia) then it just said "all that is missing is you...." and a pic of them flashed up.

At this point they still didn't get it, they just thought ah what a sweet thought.

Then the next frame said happy 40th anniversary it is time to give you back some of the magic... then just a pic of the castle and the dates that we were going.

Then they understood and we were all crying by this point!!

They will absolutely love you for it, well done!

Ooh I love the PowerPoint idea. Maybe I could do that as an intro for them!! OK guess what I will be doing next weekend with the photos from my trip a few weeks ago!!

That's a wonderful Powerpoint presentation idea!

Re. shares, they seem to be taking an awful long time at the moment, so if I were you I'd definitely e-mail as well so that you get some kind of confirmation they've got your paperwork.

If I can remember where i saved the damned thing you can always have a copy if you pm me your email adress and stick your own pics and wording in-it has been made to fit precisely with when you wish upon a star too!

Now where the hell did i leave it...?
