We are fresh off of Panama Canal cruise

This was the first time ever doing that party....and honestly I think they sort of made it up as it they went along (in a really fun way). It began with a planned trivia game and then a lip sync contest by a few members of the crew----but when losers (including the captain) ended up in the pool, the cruise activity staff jumped in too. Then passengers started jumping (or dancing) in...many fully clothed. It didn't get out of hand...but it sure was lots of crazy fun!

To add on to Emma'smom's comment, one afternoon after Clayton had been tossed into the adult pool, he bought a round of drinks for those in the area. DCL also provided space/refreshments for a military meet/greet. The Deck Band performance on deck 9 was added by popular demand. A Broadway performer, Chuck Wagner, provided a second performance in the Cadillac Lounge. This cruise was so amazing.

The CD's morning show was entertaining. Clayton and Ugo, hotel director, had a contest to deliver room service; guests had to guess which officer's baby photo was shown - "Who Dat Baby ".

This was the most magical and wonderful trip we've ever had. We loved the extra shows (the Deck Band, who knew?!!) and things such as Hide and Seek with the Steering Committee. We enjoyed the how relaxed and happy all the crew seemed. The other passengers were also wonderful. We only encountered one tool on the boat (an irate guest at guest services who was so nasty I was shocked).

We'd love to do this cruise again. I wish we could make sure to have all the same crew and passengers!

Is there anything interesting to see when cruising the canal or is it just, well, land on both sides? I've done Alaska and the view of the mountains and snow rising right from the water is pretty great and doesn't really get old.

Well, there's the locks. That's the main draw. It's just totally fascinating to go through the six locks. There is also the lake, with land and wildlife all around. Plus the other ships going through. There are two sets of locks, side-by-side, so there's generally another ship coming through at the same time. It's really pretty cool. But if you want to see mountains and snow, then no, that's not there.

Thanks for the insight. Quite useful to know. I guess I should start looking for some pictures of the route.

The PC cruise was my 25th DCL cruise. Our first ever cruise was in 1999 aboard the Magic for a 4 day cruise. We have not cruised any other line.

Character breakfast was fun. Haven't had that in a few years. It's not done on the newer ships as the dining rooms are too large. For a character breakfast to occur on the classic ships, there needs to be 3 sea days in order for all cruisers to experience it.

Ditto what Kirbo said about scenery in the canal. Overall, I was just amazed that the locks were built 100+ years ago. I enjoyed listening to the person narrating through the canal. Captain Puckett was a bonus on board.

The Frozen night was fun, even in Wave Bands for the adults. The bar staff set up a luge type thingy where drinks ran down the luge into glasses. Fun!

Our favorite port of call was Cabo. We'd like to go back for a week's stay. Our day at Cozumel was on a Sunday and our favorite go-to place, Nachi Cocum, was closed. We used resortforaday dot com and went to El Cozumuelo for the day.

We'd like to sail again through the canal in 2017, but it will depend on ports of call and fares.

I'm not too experienced with the whole multi-quote thing, I hope I get it right.

The ship looks gorgeous. The updated rooms are identical to the new Magic rooms except for the Wonder still has the steamer trunks.

We were comparing stories with other passengers, not all the rooms were seemingly quite finished their updating as new items were still appearing in their rooms. And our 10C didn't have a steamer trunk. They were doing some serious other maintenance to the ship while we were on. For example, near the water slide, they had partitions up and they were doing welding and grinding. In Disney fashion, it was not obtrusive. We saw lots of special maintenance going on. They're doing a great job of keeping it looking ship shape.

I agree about the movies. That would have been an easy fix. We never even got to see the new Cinderella movie because it was either during dinner or a main show.
That's too bad. We'd noted that too as we'd been trying to see it as well. We raised it to Ugo and Clayton at a morning show that people had been trying to see it. I don't know if they added a show or it was coming up anyways, but they had one after Cabo at 3pm that we managed to make. I thought it was odd that they kept scheduling it for meal/show times.

To add to this, I know the avenger movie was popular but I don't think it should have been the main event for 2 nights.
Yes, I think this was a mistake too. I never attended the 2nd one to see the number of people, but, although I am a huge fan of the franchise, I would not have wanted to see it twice in such short order. I was disappointed they chose to do this. I think they were struggling to find things to do. Mostly, I was perfectly content with the varied shows, but this stood out as odd. John Charles was great, and I was so surprised by Chuck Wagner at how good he was.

An amazing cruise. I thought Andy, John Charles and Chuck Wagner were great. DCL made the right call re PV. The Frozen Party was just that absolutely freezing! We were covered in blankets and consuming hot chocolate. Not many frozen drinks being consumed!
The deck party was unexpected fun. The deck band was a true Disney moment. Such talented crew, and such a surprise. The pub sketch was hilarious, and Chuck Wagner was such a good sport joining in. I could go on, but booked again next year for the same cruise, so that says it all.
I tried to eat sensibly, but my scales tell a different tale. :guilty::guilty:
