We Are Doing What?! A September 2010 Honeymoon report (COMPLETED 6/15)!!

Awe! Great rooms you got on your honeymoon!! You and your DH look like you have so much fun together!

I can't believe you got up at 6:30am on the first day of your honeymoon. My DH would never agree to that, on our honeymoon or even just regular vacation!

usually, its me who isnt the morning person....but when it comes to vacation i like to be up and out enjoying wherever we are because its usually always warmer than home....so he was a good sport about it!

So I left us heading back to the resort to hang out for a bit before the first big surprise of the trip...
...see im into surprising people, i think its fun...the only problem is usually when i try to surpise my husband i am so excited about what we are doing that i end up telling him so that i have someone to share my crazy happiness with...
..but for the honeymoon i was good...

so we got back to the room and decided to shower and drink our lovely bottle of champagne.
P9260153.jpg

after getting dressed we headed to Gasparillas-i think that is what its called? and grabbed some food...well mike did, and i have no idea what it was...i didn't get dinner until way way way later tonight...
i kept my eye on the marina the entire time, and mike kept looking in the same general direction and was like whats going on?!
Over at the marina they were getting the boats ready for the fireworks cruise....mike questioned whether or not i rented a boat. I told him- of course not..all those boats have happy birthday decorations...and clearly it wasnt either of our birthdays (we both have february birthdays)

his response as good i hope not...:scared1: as you can tell this of course was my surprise, and i was freaking out that he didn't want to do it...turns out he complained that its disney and must cost a fortune and blah blah blah...well since i didnt get a boat decorated it saved me somme money..but then i used it to stock the boat with two bottles of champagne (they have complimentary snacks).

After mike finishes eating i tell him we need to go to the dock anyways because im thinking of renting sea raycers and my surprise still has some time to go...
Now here is where I was dumb. I took no photos of the boat, of us on the boat, etc.
But in relatively short order...
we got to the boat launches, i got in line and got ourselves signed in (all the while mike was just checking on the scene-its generally a good thing that he is spacey) and then walked up to him and told him to climb on board.
He was thrilled  concerned about the small fortune i spent, but regardless he was happy.
We had an amazing driver! he gave us all sorts of fun facts and trivia about disney...and we got a boat ride along 7 seas and bay lake...
We saw some people parasailing-and my husband said no way would he ever have the guts to do that...
and then we saw this
P9260159.jpg

I went to river country when i was super little (that of course was all there was) and only remember bits and pieces...Mike had never been, but thanks to me knew all about it---kind of creepy looking!
we had one bottle of the bubbly stuff while taking the tour, and then teh second during the show
P9260163.jpg

most people suggest doing illuminations. Wishes is closer to my heart. And i will say, we had an amazing view, the music was piped into the boat and it was magical!

After the cruise we caught the tail end of the electrical parade and then docked back at the floridian.
Because it was sunday night there were EMH at the MK and so we headed back in
it started to rain slightly but nothing our jackets couldnt handle
P9260164.jpg

after looking at the closed teacups, we decided now was a good time to eat...
we headed to cosmic rays and grabbed a burger for mike and chicken strips and fries for me...big surpise...
i wanted a couple of photo passes, so we back tracked and wandered around main street
Photo0121.jpg

Photo0130.jpg

after we headed back to tomorrowland (yeh not so smart if you are on a tight schedule, but we werent so walking aimlessly was fun)
We headed for space mountain, a favorite of ours.
With almost no wait we were off.
now this next photo i think its hilarious :rotfl2: Mike claims he was just surprised at the quick turn in the ride because usually we pause
i say...who knows-but it was priceless!
Photo0123.jpg

We came out of the ride and as soon as i saw that photo i said who cares how much-it is totally worth it.
It may have had something to do with the champagne that we had..but i just opened it again...and nope..still funny! (although with that being said, im not sure what im doing and why im holding onto the seat restraint like that?!)
we spent alot of time just walking aroudn tomorrowland and on the people mover this night..
P9260171.jpg

P9260165.jpg

We decided to call it a night and headed back pretty early.
P9260173.jpg

After getting back we went up to Minzers (is that its name?) lounge
had some cocktails and then called it a night...
...i had even more fun in store for us on monday!:wizard:

Aha....here comes the reason for the name of my trip report!

Monday morning came, and we had breakfast at the grand floridian cafe at 9....We planned to hit Blizzard beach later in the afternoon, but something way more important was first.

We had a lovely breakfast, we were sat at a table for two by the circular window overlooking the courtyard....we had pancakes and eggs and bacon coffee...and i had a mimosa...if you remember i was not a fan of these because of the pulp...but today called for it...I had made plans, that although i was super excited about, i was nervous about the activity-and how mike would respond....so here is how the conversation went down..

Mike: so whats the plan for today?
Me: nothing huge, i figure we can hit BB this afternoon, and head back to the MK tonight
Mike: so what about today?
Me: i dunno (drinking mimosa furiously)
Mike: You have had every hour of this trip planned out, what gives?
Me: (as the check comes) Why dont you pay for this (we have the ddp)
Mike: Tell me whats going on...
Me:We are going parasailing in an hour...Ill meet you outside i have to run to the gift shop ( left the table immediately :lmao:)
Now as i mentioned previously, mike is not a fan of thrill type things, and heights is not his favorite...but we had talked about doing it on a crusie once and he said he would only parasail in disney because its the only place he felt safe.....so i took that as the green light...
i met him outside hoping he had time to take in the news
(and i met this guy)
P9270177.jpg

We headed over to the contemporary and since we had an appointment scheduled, hopped on the boat with one other group-a man and his young son. Only his son was going, so we all agreed he should go first.
Here is Mike Totally nervous but still smiling
P9270179.jpg

Finally it was a choice between Mike and I. Mike thought it was best if i went next...so up i went. I don't have any photos of me in the air, because instead i decided to take my camera with me. Aside for a few gusts of wind that had me pausing and holding on thinking i was going to fall to the earth...I had an amazing time and the views were incredible...
Start picture show now!

it felt like i was up there for an eternity...and i have more photos, but i think you get the hint!
Here is me coming down
P9270197.jpg

and mike in the air
P9270199.jpg

WHen we finished...we were both so happy we did it. The view, is amazing :wizard: and that alone worth it. They don't dip you in the water, which i was very happy about. I would totally recommend this to anyone! And after all of the nerves so would Mike!
I honestly don't know what else to say about it-beyond this was a huge huge huge highlight and i think the photos speak for themselves.

After that breathtaking experience we hopped on a bus from the hotel over to blizzard beach....I had been here once with friends in high school.
But today i was going to tackle something i had been talking about for years...
P9270203.jpg

summit plummet.
what can i say?! I am a thrill ride junkie! Mike on the other hand bowed out of this one and decided to watch me from the bottom. we took the chairlift up and while i waited in line for this Mike went down teamboat springs (which we had been on earlier and he loved)
Walking to the top of summit plummet is nervewracking. You can see the other parks from that height.
When i was about 8 or 9 I had a close friend go to disney and go down humunga kowlabunga at Typhoon (which i did earlier this week) however, she sat up the whole way and never laid back with her legs crossed etc. This was before they enclosed that slide (not sure when they did this?) anyways, since then i have always had this huge fear of falling off of the slide...and since i was alone in line, i had plenty of time to think about this ... not cool.
It came my turn and the guy handling the slide could see my nerves so he of course made fun of me....and then pushed me off....:scared1:
never again!!!! what a rush! but NEVER. EVER. AGAIN.
I screamed the entire way down.
After i was done Mike said i was going really fast, like super fast...and i was actually shaking a little-so we decided it was time for lunch. Ewww Gross. We had the usual burgers and chicken strips-but for some reason they were oh so totally nasty.
To settle ourselves down we took a ride around the lazy river. I like this lazy river a little bit better than typhoon lagoon, i think it feels bigger, and its more fun with the spot where the alligator sneezes cold water. But pretty much we have decided that we enjoy typhoon lagoon much better. We don't like the slides with the mats, which eliminates several rides at BB. So next time, if we choose a water park it will be typhoon lagoon. However, we had the water parks and more option so we took advantage and got to try out both and i am glad we did.
It was time to head out so we headed back to the lockers.
 Here is where we saw the most love bugs...They were everywhere in the locker area, so we grabbed our stuff and pretty much ran out of the area...we tossed on our shirts and shorts and headed for the exit.
But not before saying goodbye to button...for good.
No really, she's melting
P9270204.jpg

We headed back to the resort and took a quick nap (pool for me) before getting ready for dinner that night..

Up next: some evil ones...

We left off lounging around the resort. Its kind of nice, every trip that I have gone on since i was little has been crazy commando...and while i carried on that tradition, this trip was nice to get a little bit of relaxing time in...
...but it didnt last forever
our plans for tonight included a happy dinner, parades and fireworks!

We started at dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I love prime rib, like seriously love, I try to go out to dinner every couple of weeks so i can have it. When i was little and disney food was usually inedible, my parents always made it a point to take us here so that I could eat prime rib. :rotfl: Our first trip Mike and I went on I didn't go here, and i kind of missed it...so we made it this year. We got our photo taken out front ( i actually bought that photo and have it framed) and headed inside to our table. We were close to the buffet which was nice. Lady Tremaine was out tonight. so we had the sisters, cindy and the prince and the fairygodmother. We were actually only visited by the step sisters ...we were there over an hour :confused3 no biggie though....
The step sisters were a riot though!! They saw our buttons and placemat given to us (it said congrats and happy honeymoon) and they went on and on about how its so unfair that I found my prince charming and they were still waiting.
Then they made us take this picture
P9270205.jpg

As you can tell I am laughing pretty hard...priceless!
Like i said though, they were the only characters to come by so we ended up leaving, and took a monorail here.
P9270207.jpg

I love the castle as night, its so pretty!
P9270212.jpg

We were here for two things...MSEP and Wishes....
im assuming we rode some rides, but i dont have a clue what they were.
We like to watch the parade from frontierland...so we eventually wandered over there and got a spot in front just across ffrom the country bears....shortly after we arrived a couple with their young daughter came....they stood in between us and a closed cart (i think it was a merchandise cart) and i told them that i was going to videotape the parade so if i got in their daughters way just to let me know and i would move (i tend to zone out when im watching parades, fireworks, etc) but they planned on having her on the guys shoulders so it was cool....
we had about a 30-35 minute wait, and i think with less than 10 miinutes left we had another family show up where we were. a large family. a non-english speaking family. At first a couple of adults stood next to us...no biggie....then they brought some kids in and put them in front of them...still no big deal....then like 5 more adults came with 2 strolls and a couple more kids......seriously?! there is not room for all of them.....but apparently they thought ther ewould be as long as i moved out of the way. They tried to weasle the strolled through and in front of me (a childless stroller by the way) and i was not having it...i dont mind if there was a kid in it who wanted to get out and sit in front of me...but im not going to allow and empty stroller and the adult pushing it to stand in front of me (im not that tall if you havent noticed!) so i nicely said excuse me im standing here. they looked at me and continued to push. I have no patience for people...like at all...on vacation im usually a little better because im all like its okay, im on vaca in nice weather and all that jazz...but this was just rude. so i turned my back slightly to them and made sure i planted my feet to the ground. when they tried to push me i was like a stone wall. they were beyond surprised. then they said excuse me and pointed to in front of me and said "i go there"....to which i said no, i am here, you are there. the parade was now coming down the street..i could see it, and i wanted to video tape it...i was not going to let this happen. so i simply stepped fwd a little closer to the rope, kept my feet angled so i couldnt be moved and started to videotape. The entire parade they kept bumping into me and the kids were hitting me with their toys. ugh...can you tell this bothered me? its one of the encounters i can replay over in my head and i get so mad:mad: i just dont get why they think they can stroll into a good prime spot just as a parade is getting underway...
...okay i digress rant over.

I dont have photos becaus i videotaped it. but my thoughts? eh....tinkerbell starts the parade...and for that alone i will watch it. However, i hate the music. I hated the music the first time around. its just like nails on a chalkboard to me..
bring back spectromagic. please.

After the parade we made our way towards the castle for wishes. We always watch wishes by the rails over by the baby station. Again no photos because i videotaped it. As some of you know, there is a cast exit by the baby stations.....and apparently alot of the cms get off just as wishes is going on. i had dozens of cast members walk by...and because if my nifty just married button, got dozens on congrats. they are all on my video of wishes...heh....its kind of amusing though.
Wishes to me-amazing. i would have like to see the summer fantastic fireworks as i have ready they are awesome....but i was definately okay with wishes.

when the show ended we made our way down main st and to the boat..
P9270215.jpg

we headed to the lounge again for some after park cocktails and called it a night..

Today was a totally different kind of day for us.
We bought 10 day park hopper tickets...and so far had used 9...all because we had to go to the mk the first night we got there. We had tomorrow morning in the parks, which meant today was a no park day....No worries though. I had enough planned!

And the first plan of the day was...
...nothing. not a single thing. no breakfast ADRS-nothing. just relax and sleep in.
Well Mike slept in...I headed out to the pool.
Early.
Super Early (well not really but i was the first one at the pool)
P9280220.jpg

i took a lounger that was on the sand/beach side of the pool and got to work
P9280221.jpg

P9280222.jpg

P9280223.jpg

in the last photo you can see people starting to show up....and also that it was getting sort of cloudy. no biggie
until this large group (i swear they must be attracted to me or something) decided they had to set up shop on the beach as well. Ok....except out of all the empty loungers they took the one next to me. Really? The entire area is empty. i am legit the only person using the loungers on the beach side. You cant leave one empty chair in between me and you? no? ok then...
...so since i didn't want to get soaked and have sand thrown at me the entire time i decided to pack up and went to the pool in the middle of the resort area. i grabbed a chair and a quick nap.

I didn't have a huge amount of time, so around noon i went upstairs and got mike. We had an appointment at the spa for a couple's massage. Mike was a little hesitant, but it was our honeymoon and he was willing to do almost anything i made him to so he went with it
Needless to say it was great. It was so relaxing for both of us and if we ever take a long trip to disney again i would rebook it in a heartbeat.
we were going to use the hot pools, but it was kind of crowded and we had bigger plans for the night....
....
as we got back to the room we found this guy
P9280224.jpg

Eeyore is mine. I still will sleep with a stuffed animal..weird i know, and it doesnt have to be an animal, i can just pull the sheets and wrap them around my arms, i just cant sleep without holding onto something :confused3
The ears were the light up ones i got in epcot early in the week....Housekeeping was nextdoor and she said she thought about turning the light up ears on but didn't want to waste the battery...if she knew we were coming back so soon she would have....oh well, it was thoughtful of her not to but would have been funny if they were....
i decided to lay down so mike went outside to explore and geta drink....he came back looking like this
P9280225.jpg

it was pouring out...in this photo im not sure if you can tell really, but if you remember the photos of our view you should be able to kind of tell
P9280226.jpg

i call this, a disney downpour. Normally they stop after 20 minutes...
but this was about 3pm and it didn't let up....for a long time....

SO as i was saying, the rain started close to 3....we had big plans for the night.
big plans.
Halloween type plans
P9280231.jpg

Thats right it was MNSSHP!
Tickets allowed you to get in starting at 4...we had dinner reservations at tony's at 530.
So around 4pm we mosy on down to the monorail station.....in the pouring rain...so no we didn't mosy i guess...we ran for our lives. in old navy $3 flipflops....aweeesome...but i survived!!
However, due to the extreme downpour the monorail was shut down.
no kidding 'eh?
they told us a bus was coming for us.....so we went to the bus station and waited...and waited..
for nearly 20minutes...
so now its 430...still plenty of time to get to the park for our dinner reservations...
....except a bus doesn't come for another 15 minutes..
in fact, i dont know if it ever came because a manger dude asked us if we needed to get to the MK (gee i dont know, we are dressed up as tinkerbell and mr. smee....i dont think we were heading to downtown disney)
and he wisked us away to the magic kingdom. no joke, he drove us into the cast area of the park....an area we were at earlier in the week with the KTTK tour....and the entrance to main st was right there next to tonys...so we made it!
TINK!
P9280229.jpg

MR. SMEE!
P9280230.jpg

poor mike...some people knew he was mr. smee...others thought wheres waldo and still others thought he was jsut wearing a chrismas hat.
he really didn't want to dress up, but again he did it for me, and i thought this was the easiest for him because it wasn't a full blown costume.
he was a good sport about it though.
We had a wonderful waitress and dinner didnt take long. I know not alot of people like it here, but we did-in fact we are eating there when we go in september again.
We got out of dinner at about 630 (we were seated earlier than our adr time)
and headed over to monsters laugh floor. We had never done it. I thought it was sooo funny...esp at the end when they put mikes photo up and it read..
"uhm dude, wrong holiday"
:lmao::lmao::lmao:
at this point it was just about 7 so we headed over and got our wristbands. Mike didn't know what to do first so i told him walk that way, we have a line to get to.
Also at this point, it stopped raining!!!!
(this is out of order..this was taken just after dinner and before going to laugh floor)
Photo0138.jpg

I think though, that not as many people went to the party because of the rain. i mean if you had tickets of course you went, but if you were planning on buying them there- i think people decided to wait for another day.
so we get over to the fantasyland skyway...and there is no line....hmmm
this is not right, because the 7 dwarves should be here and they arent.
i found a cast member who said they were meeting at the liberty belle boat launch..so we scurried over there and had to wait about 15 minutes
P9280233.jpg

We walked by the witch from snow white, but i was not a fan of the costume so we skipped it, and instead had this taken
P9280235.jpg

FOr the first time ever, we headed to mickey's toontown fair.
When i was little, it was mickey's birthday land, then the next time i went it was mickey's starland. then i was older and not interested.
but i had a mission.
FIrst, we had to see the big guy and my fav. minnie!
Photo0152.jpg

the next stop, was pixie hollow!
the line was kind of really long, not super bad, but 25/30ish?
we struck up a conversation with couple behind us and the mother joked that if the line lasted any longer she would just have her daughter take her photo with me because she wouldnt know the difference :rotfl:
Finally! I met my favoritest character ever. i felt funny because you know, im not a kid...but it was cool and they were so in character, tink wanted to know where i got my leaves to make my dress because they werent like hers and she thought she could use a lighter material for teh summer..hah
Photo0160.jpg

My night was complete. well not really, but i was so happy!
next we headed to the haunted mansion. the line for the horseless carriage was too long, so we hopped on the ride, then got this photo
P9280244.jpg

and saw her
P9280246.jpg

then caught some ghosts trying to tag along with us!
Photo0169.jpg

At this point we wanted to ride some rides..so we headed over to thunder mountain, and pirates.
we exited pirates and i saw mr. smee! he was going in though for the night:headache: but apparently his handler saw mike and they came over to us
P9280250.jpg

awesome!! After this we headed to our usual parade spot and watched the boo to you parade.
Totally awesome!!! we headed afterwards to space mountain. and then we decided to get an ice cream and get a spot for hallowishes. I mentioned the lack of crowds earlier and it was evidently clear during the fireworks...we got there many 15 minutes before it started and were in the center hub just haning out with nobody else around.
These fireworks were awesome! id pay the price of the ticket for the parade and fireworks alone.
After that we walked around some and just took in everything, this was our last night here :sad2:
We took one more photo before calling it a night
Photo0170-1.jpg

I've also enjoyed a couples massage with DH on a few occasions. He's the one who has to twist my arm to go though. You need to try the SSR spa. They have a couples massage that has hydro-therapy, it was really nice!

That does look like a lot of rain...how long did it rain??

oops...we posted at the same time! Glad the rain stopped :)

Cute that your DH got to meet Smee. Was he embarrassed when they put his pic up at Monster's Inc?

this was it, the morning i had been dreading for ever. Our last day...
which involved us being up early and downstairs to check out because we had an 8:05am reservation at crystal palace :rotfl2:
So we reluctantly packed our stuff brought them to bell services and checked out. We headed one last time up the stairs to the monorail....
only to find it out of service. They told us to go to the TTC and get the express one and that would be fine..
so okay, we get a taxi outside to take us there...
except, the express line is down and they are just getting the resort one set up...:scared1:
we end up on the resort one and make long stops at the poly and GF...
seriously our last two attempts at the monorail-not cool.
We get over there pretty late which upsets me because i got the 8am ressie in order to get nopeopleintheparks photo. hmph.
we ended up with some
Photo0180-1.jpg

apparently he doesnt get the concept of look down
Photo0187-1.jpg

and we headed off to crystal palace..
Now here was the only place i wanted autographs.
My nephew was born in july and his room was pooh themed (they decided not to find out the sex of the baby so the room was gender neutral) and since i have no children of my own yet, i force my disney obsession onto him.
anyways, i took my old winnie-the-pooh book that i had as a child and brought so that they could sign it. I have two big hardcover books at home of winnie the pooh so i was willing to part with this one.
It was fantastic and they all signed it over the inside cover-which happens to be a map of the 100acre woods..so they all signed over their homes
it was cool (ecept poohs house is covered by the paper covering)
i wont bore you with all of the photos but just me and my favorite
P9290258.jpg

at this point we get out to the park just after 9. and its dead. super dead. i took video and liberty square and frontierland literally have nobody in them..fantastyland i think had maybe a dozen people.
P9290260.jpg

P9290261.jpg

P9290262.jpg

P9290266.jpg

we rode the mountain ranges one last time...then sadly headed for the exit...it was about 1015ish at this point.....we had to be picked up at the resort at 1245
Photo0189.jpg

Photo0201.jpg

We had one more thing to do before leaving though.
Visit epcot of course!
P9290272.jpg

we monorail hopped from the MK-TTC-EPCOT.
We rode spaceship earth, then wandered around world showcase. We went to do pick-a-pearl (earlier in the week i made a necklace, today i made a ring)
and took our last photo at disney..
P9290273.jpg

We walked back to the exit at like 1210. very slowly. super slowly. neither of us wanted to leave :sad2:
We finally get on the monorail and are headed back, and as we are on the resort monorail we got a call from our driver looking for us ;) we happened to be getting out at the GF right then so we hurried down and got wisked away to MCO.
uneventful flight home, and a quick stop at my parents and we were done.
This is one souvenier i bought, I dont think he was happy with it:rotfl:
P9300276.jpg

This trip was amazing. I had high expectations and everything was met or exceeded. Although I think even if everything went wrong I was still at Disney so I was okay...

..we are going back for our anniversary..as of right now for one night. We are staying at the boardwalk and have 2 day park hoppers. Today, i booked a second night...at the poly...hehe...We may or may not keep it, but atleast i have it booked! (i couldnt pass up the summer room discount!)
We are going to fla for a week but also spending time in key west and fort myers....so we will see....

Thanks for coming along!!

No he wasn't too embarrassed about the photo being put up on the board....there were other people that got picked on a lot more, and he us really good about things like that.
if it were me i would have been mortified!

Some other honeymoon perks we got this week but i forgot to post...

We road maelstrom and they gave us our own boat.

The first full day at MK we were on splash and the loader said if we wanted the front we could wait the rotation, so we did. then she came up and handed us fast passes to ride again...enough fast passes to ride again and again and again :rotfl: we gave some away to families and were still able to ride like 3 more times that day/night!!

i think those were the only two that i forgot to post in the order they happened!

:goodvibes I just found and read through your whole TR today:surfweb: (despite the fact that I am supposed to be working!). What a great write up. I first caught your very funny kiss photo with Drisella and Anastasia and I was hooked!

My second fav photo ever is on your first or second day, you are on MK Main St, standing only a breath apart like you are just about to kiss. what a sweet romantic honeymoon photo :lovestruc

I think that your autographed pooh books are the sweetest gift ever for your nephew. what a great idea - wish I'd thought of it!

Your Tink costume totally rocked and it was cool that your hubby dressed as Mr. Smee just for you.

WOW you flew high while parasailing. weren't you afraid to lose your camera? your pictures were awesome!

just wanted to say, found you late but LOVED your story! Thanks for making me laugh and get a little misty eyed sharing your week. I will have to keep my eye out for your next one!

We had a blast, its funny how hard it is to write down what the days really were like but it was fun trying

when we went parasailing i wasn't too concerned about my camera at first, but there were a couple of times that the wind caught me and pulled me a little bit and then i got nervous so i wrapped it around my wrist and stopped trying to take photos :rotfl2:
