Hi all
We arrived back last Friday but it's taken me till now to get my head sorted and get organised! :goodvibes

The trip was amazing, we had such a great time, but as usual there were the odd few niggles, but luckily these didn't spoil it for us.

Highs

Flying on the new A330 with Virgin, the plane was amazing, the IFE was fab and I was happy with the leg room, we had lots of drinks. Food was pretty bad but what else do you expect!

The weather, two small showers the whole time! The rest of the time was sunny and at least 30 degrees , some days were too hot tbh

The villa was lovely, with a lovely pool and the kids really enjoyed it.

All the wonderful food!

A very kind CM at MK who when Harley lost his hat gave him a Disney on free of charge as he was very upset that it was his cars one he had lost. I thought this was lovely and very much instilled the Disney spirit in us!

Harley on the rides, this was the first year that he has been tall enough to do the 40" rides, he did ToT and Test Track plus all of the others!

Lows

Coming home ....generally!

Rude people in the parks. People trying to reserve a whole sidewalk for themselves at parade time. I had a few words with one woman regarding this.

Virgin's rubbish package holiday way of doing things, having to go to their office to collect things that they conveniently weren't allowed to give us at the airport. I hate how they try to rip you off because they think that you don't know the place you have come on holiday to, one poor family shelled out $500 on a trip to Planet Hollywood. I would have been peeved if I were them.

Inconsistent height restriction measuring, Harley is dead on 40" and some CMs wouldn't let him ride when others would, this was really upsetting for him especially when he had ridden the attraction once and then denied the second time. We ended up buying him a new pair of trainers to ensure that he was over as in his Crocs he was sunken down in the sole so made it harder for us!

There's so much more but hopefully I will finish my journel / trippie soon then I can post it all! :)

welcome back!!!
sounds like a wonderful trip..

as for rudeness - i also found that to be the case when i was there last june...
i found it very disturbing, and to a certain extent, it did affect my enjoyment...
partly, because as an american, i have always believed that americans behave in a particular way (polite, patient, kind)....at least the americans you usually encounter in WDW...
this past june in WDW, and then in detroit (visiting my family) and then in houston in september/october (when i was with my mom at the big cancer center there), i was soooooooooooooooo shocked by the level of rudeness i observed...truly shocked, appalled, disturbed, upset.....really really upset...

i'm really hoping we won't encounter too much of it when we're at WDW in august....my son hasn't been back to america for 5 years, so the shock will be extreme for him if we see anything like what i saw last june..

anyway....i'm going to try to put blinders on this august....or rose coloured glasses and just ignore the bad behavior i see around me...because otherwise it will affect my enjoyment...i think i have to just decide that i'm not going to let it get to me.....and just enjoy being there with the family....
(maybe i should start taking prozac now... :lmao: )

I'm glad we weren't the only ones to experience rudeness! There were a few occasions were hubby and I gave each other a glance when people were blatently rude - one example hubby was waiting at the bag check for MK when a lady just walked right in front of him and put her bag on the table - not even a second glance at hubby!

On a positive note on the occasions in the queues when the person in front/behind stood on your toe/fell back/elbowed you (you get the drift) if it was a young american teenager they were SOOO polite - some even saying 'I'm so sorry Miss, did I hurt you' - it was a pleasure to hear seeing as it was the adults who were the worst!

Glad you had a great time on the whole though! I'm looking at planning ours for 2012 (only got back Thursday - sooooo depressed now though!)
