I just can't hold this in anymore:
I'm going back to DISNEY!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it is true. However, I am not going alone. I'm going with my work BFF, Whitney! This trip has a little backstory which I will get to soon. First, I want to introduce us:

Whitney is on the left, and I'm on the right. HIIII:wave2:

Kristin: 35 year old chocolatier by day and Disney fanatic by night! I have loved Disney since I was young. My first trip was in 1992 at the impressionable age of 13. I LOVED it. Always have; always will. I've been to Disney 5 times before this trip!

Favorite characters: Belle, Stitch, Mickey, Merida, Aurora. . . .
Favorite Disney Movies: Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Lilo and Stitch, Sleeping Beauty, Pete's Dragon, Toby Tyler. . . .and so many more!!!
Favorite Disney Memory: Hmm. . . there are so many. I think one of my favorite memories was one entire trip I took with a friend of mine and her husband and family. Her kids were like 5 and 2 at the time. It was so incredible to see Disney through a child's eyes. That was a very magical trip.

Whitney: 23 year old college student/student teacher by day and actress by night. She has only been to Disney once in her life. She is anxious to go back to catch up on all the things she missed when she went as a child!

Favorite characters:Ariel, Jasmine, Esmeralda, Pocahontas, Tarzan, Hercules, Meg, Pegasus, and Genie
Favorite Disney Movies: Little Mermaid, Hunchback, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Hercules, Lion King, and Tarzan are in my top movies! Honestly I love them all!
Favorite Disney Memory: Well, my family and I went to Disney in October of 2000 (which was cool because it was the new millennium). I was 9 going on 10 so I don't remember everything from the trip. This is the only time I've been to Disney world, so I'm so excited to return! My favorite memory...hmmm.. Well I loved the rides a lot (especially Peter Pan and space mountain because I rode in the very front!) I would also say I loved seeing some of the shows! Since I'm into acting, I loved seeing Indian Jones and Tarzan on the stage! Fantasmic was also fantastic (teehee) because I loved seeing all the characters and hearing the music! This was absolutely magical for me at my young age. This show is probably my most vivid memory from that trip!

On to the backstory for this trip!

In 2010, I was terminated from my job 5 days before my last trip to Disney. Once I returned from that trip, I had some trouble finding a job. Everyone else was more qualified. To make some money for the upcoming Holidays, I desperately started seeking retail jobs. I found Sublime Chocolate and discovered they happened to be hiring. I interviewed and was hired to do customer service/barista/ chocolate sales. It was a fun job selling truffles and coffee and chocolate drinks.

That is where I met Whitney. We started talking and got along well....REALLY well, in fact. The more we talked, the more we liked each other and the more we realized we had a ton in common. We discovered our birthdays are a day (er. . .and 12 years) apart!! We discovered we were both crazy and enjoying it! Our friendship grew quickly and within a few months, even the manager had us working together all the time. We were basically inseparable at work.

As we talked, I told her about my last Disney trip and how much fun it was. I told her we would have to go sometime after she turned 21 because Disney is more fun when you can drink, too! (Only because Grey Goose slushes are so amazing! Plus, Italian Rosa Regale!<--check out my signature for my last TR and why this wine is so important)

The idea of going to Disney was put on a back burner as my husband and I tried to have kids and Whitney went back to school to finish her degree. We both continued to work at Sublime. I moved up to Assistant Chocolatier and Production Manager. We have both had our ups and downs.

Just this spring, I really was having an itch to return to Disney. I started pricing trips and just playing around with the idea. I suggested it to Whitney, and we agreed we should do some more research. I really wanted to go in September or October, but Whitney would be student teaching, so that wasn't possible. I knew January crowds were low, so I suggested it for that time. Whitney's student teaching would be complete and she would have graduated. It seemed perfect, so we set our sites on January 2015.

As per the norm of my Disney trips, I researched and spent time on the DIS :surfweb: We watched for rates and waited for discounts. I crunched every possible number to see which would be the best way for us to go and save money. I figured Free dining was best, but I also knew that Free Dining hadn't been offered in January for a couple years. However, I came across a PIN for Free Dining in January 2014. I thought maybe we might get that chance again.

We waited and saved. Saved and waited. ALL SUMMER!! It seemed like the rates for 2015 would never come out- much less the discounts. We waited. We looked at stuff online. We waited. We added stuff to my online Disney wish list. We waited. We discussed plans. We waited. I made ADRs at the 180 day mark. And we waited. :faint:

Finally, finally, I saw that the discounts for the Disney Visa holders were out! ::yes:: I was on the phone right away. I was able to book at a room at Pop with the SPD deal. It was about what I had calculated!

I texted Whitney with the exciting news! It made her day!!

I knew we still needed to add flights, so I started looking. I found all kinds of flights with all kinds of price tags. I randomly decided to check Southwest. Not even remembering that Southwest has never been able to fly from Dallas non-stop to Orlando because of the Wright Amendment. I found non-stop flights from Dallas to Orlando on Southwest and they were $30+ cheaper than any other flights. However, I noticed I only had 3 days until their sale ended. Well, after talking to Whitney, I booked flights- round trip from Dallas to Orlando, non-stop both ways for just a little over $200 a person. That is with free checked luggage, too! :goodvibes Score!!!

So, that is where it stands now. . .The whole backstory and some of the nitty gritty. I will write all that stuff out in the next post! I hope you will stick around!!

HI! :wave2:

Here is the Nitty Gritty of our trip:

Who:you know us now.

Dates: January 21- January 28
(Now, I know you all understand, but I have had people tell me that is too long! :rotfl2: )

Where we are staying: Pop Century
This is new for me and Whitney. I am always trying to stay at a new resort at Disney, however, I am running out of values!

The possible Itinerary will come soon. However, we have some fun things planned that we are both totally excited about! Plus, this trip will be nice to just get away and let loose!

AHH.. . is it January, yet?

Whitney is new to the whole dinning at Disney World thing. I know everyone eats, but when Whitney went, it just wasn't as big of a deal! With that said, I had a few places on my list. She told me a few things she remembered from her trip. She said her mom got sick and they had to leave the Magic Kingdom early and weren't able to eat at Tony's Town Square. She said that was one place she really wanted to go. That was her only request. The rest she said she was find with whatever.

Be Our Guest was my number 1 choice. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite Disney movie, so naturally, I have to see all the new Beauty and the Beast stuff in New Fantasyland! BOG was nearly non-negotiable for me so long as I could get a reservation!

At the 180 day mark, I was on Disney's site trying to get ressies. I about choked when I saw that BOG was available. I booked it as fast as I could. I didn't really want to do that one our first day because I wanted to save it for more into the trip. However, I figured I could always cancel if I got a reservation later. Every morning, I was on the Disney site trying to make reservations. Here is what we got:

January 21- arrival day- Tony's Town Square dinner
January 22- Yak and Yeti lunch
January 23- Akersus's Princess Storybook Dinner
January 24- Sanaa at AKL for lunch. I did lunch so we could see the animals
January 25- Be Our Guest for dinner at 8:55. I hope we get to walk out of an empty park!!!
January 26- Via Napoli dinner
January 27- Kona Café breakfast
January 28- departure day- nothing here- we can use up snack credits or pay out of pocket

I'm so excited about BOG! I just can't wait!!! :hyper:

I think all of those are new to Whitney. I've eaten at Tony's and Akersus, but it was 12 years ago. I have eaten dinner at Kona, but not breakfast. The other three are new! I LOVE food and am very anxious to experience all these places!

Guess what. . .it is dancing bananas time!

You know what that means, right? We are in the double-digits! That's right! Today, we have 99 more days until Disney! :wizard:

There isn't much going on in the planning department at the moment. I'm trying to get involved in a Memory Maker share. I'm also looking at some other exciting things to see if they are worth the money. Not sure right now.

So, since I don't have anything exciting to report, I will do the obligatory MUST DO list for the Magic Kingdom!!

Keep in mind, Whitney hasn't been to WDW in 14 years, and I haven't been in. . .well, let's just say less years than Whitney. New Fantasyland is exactly that to both of us- NEW! I can hardly wait to see all the new stuff.

(Can I make a confession. I was looking over the online map of New Fantasyland, and I got that giddy excited feeling when I saw how the Beauty and the Beast stuff was all set out and how there is an awesome walkway to the Beast's castle- just like the movie!!!! I was grinning ear to ear!)

Without further ado, the MK Must DO list (in no particular order):

MAGIC KINGDOM:
Main Street and Castle Viewing, obviously!
Tony's Town Square
Casey's Corndog Nuggets
Dole Whips
Swiss Family Robertson Treehouse

Enchanted tales with Belle
Dumbo
Cinderella's Castle

We have so many Must Dos at MK. I hope we can get through them all. I'm still working on my Itinerary, but I know we will have at least a day and a half here as well as EMH. Hopefully we can get to it all.

Stick around for the next update and excitement! popcorn::

For anyone who is actually reading, Whitney and I just passed our 10 week mark yesterday! Yea!!! We are so excited that neither of us can really hold it in! It is such a rush to know we will be in Disney so soon!

I have some concerns about what to bring for the weather. I know it is too early to really worry, but I've never been in January. Will I need a winter coat? Should I even consider shorts and/or a swimming suit? I just don't know. I've been in November, but I have heard January can be much colder. Guess I'll just have to keep an eye on the weather as the trip approaches.

Ok. . .onto our EPCOT Must Do list:

Spaceship Earth
The Seas with Nemo and Friends
Turtle Talk with Crush- just because it is cute
Soarin'

That's not too much for EPCOT, but the World Showcase takes lots of time! Plus, I know we will love to check out every single shop!

Ok, I know this wasn't an exciting update. There will be more to come! A few more to-do lists and then some fun stuff! Can't wait!

See you real soon!

Hey my name is Ally, we are actually going around the same time. It's okay I started a PTR too and it's fine if no one reads it as I just use it to contain all my thoughts about Disney. I think if I would talk to my husband about my plans he would go nuts lol. I love yak and yeti. The food is really good there. I also want to do Sanaa this trip. My hubby loves via Napoli pizza. Be our guest is amazing make sure to take plenty pictures if you have any quick service credits you might wanna eat there for lunch too it's amazing in detail. Can't wait to hear more about your trip. I need to start putting together my itinerary and lock down my ADRs I keep switching them around lol.

Our visits are going to overlap and we are staying at POP, too! This will be our seventh visit in January. We love getting away from the frozen tundra and visiting Disney in winter. I've been debating do a PTR... I'm enjoying reading everyone else's and sharing in the planning excitement!

Last time I went in January it was really nice weather, there was no rain and it was chilly in the morning only. Once the sun was out it was warm and sunny. We went swimming a couple of days. Hoping for some nice hot weather when we are all down there.

Hi Bellaally and Jensen! Sorry I haven't replied. I got so busy with Christmas. Thank you for reading! I can't believe our trip is so close! I'm here to revamp my PTR!

Hi! :wave2: Guess what, Whitney and I are 10 days away from leaving on our Disney World Escape! In honor of that, I had Whitney and I each answer 10 questions. I will post answers each day until we leave!

Here we go: Day 10!

What thing are you most excited for at Magic Kingdom?

Whitney: Big Thunder Mountain among other rides!

Single Digit Dance Day!!!!:dance3::banana::banana::banana::cool1::cool1::cool1:
Yes, it is true: we have nine days left before our vacation. I haven't even started packing. The weather forecast keeps changing, so I might have to wait until we get a little closer.

Whitney and I are off to see Big Hero 6 tonight in preparation for the trip! I am very excited! I hope we can meet Baymax and Hiro!

On to the countdown: Day 9

What are you most looking forward to at EPCOT?

I'm back! Back for Day 8 of the countdown!

But first, a few things. Last night Whitney and I saw Big Hero 6. It was cute! I really liked Baymax!! I hope we can see him and Hiro in HS when we go!

Second, have you seen all the articles about ALL the construction at WDW right now? Jeez! Walls up at 3 out of 4 parks. I hope they don't mess with the magic too bad. I was kinda bummed out reading those, but I figure even a bad day at Disney is better than a great day anywhere else! ;)

On to the countdown: Day 8

What thing are you most excited about at Hollywood Studios?

Whitney: Fantasmic! Along with ToT, RnRC, and. . .
Fantasmic.jpg

Kristin:Rock 'n' Rollercoaster! There are a few other things I'm excited about, but HS seems to be closing so much so fast. Will there be anything left??
