Hello! Welcome to my 2nd trip report! We just got home from 8 wonderful days in Walt Disney World and already, I cannot wait to go back!

"We" refers to my DH and I:

I'm Jen and he's Brandon, and this is our 4th Disney trip together! If you want to know a little more about us, there is a link to my PTR in my signature! Basically, I'm a WDW obsessed freak and poor Brandon is just along for the ride (although he likes Disney more than he cares to admit)! :rotfl:

This trip was from November 12-20 and we stayed in Port Orleans Riverside with free dining! This is our first stay in a moderate, we have previously stayed in AS Music, the Wilderness Lodge, and Beach Club, so we were very excited to try our first mod!

We picked this week because we went the same week last year and it was amazing! Low crowds, perfect weather, and the Christmas decorations were beautiful, so we thought we might as well go again! We considered going in December to see the Candlelight Processional (something I still really want to do someday!) but didn't want to take a chance with the crowds, since it seems like December is getting more and more popular!

Oh, and before I post this intro and start my first update, the title of my TR is from a version of "We Wish you a Merry Christmas" we kept hearing at MK during our trip, sung by the Pooh characters! I thought it was so cute when Pooh would say "please bring me a jar of hunny" and then at the end, everyone was singing "we all want a jar of hunny"! :lovestruc So I decided to use it as my title. Other considerations were "I just want to see my blue palm trees one last time" and "Boys, BOYS! Orange, ORANGE!" but I wanted the title to be somewhat Christmas-y, so the hunny one won!

Anyway! Enough with the introduction, on with the trip report! :cool1:

Wow! Home for two days and you already started a TR, I'm envious of your speed!

Can't wait to hear all about the trip :surfweb:

Darn it...I wanted to be first.

The pictures in front of the castle looks nice.

I know that you want to go back again soon. Did you happen to upgrade to APs? Just think of how much you would have saved if you got them last May when I told you to!

I was on the Disney website to check out there new discounts (which of course don't include May) and for fun ran 3 nights at the Poly on Mem. Day Weekend. 1648. Seriously? That is more than I paid for 8 nights for our trip.

Arrival Day!

Our arrival day began bright (well, not so bright...dark, really) and early on Friday, 11/12 at around 3 am! We tried to go to sleep early since we knew we had to get up at an obscene time to leave for the airport, but of course, we were up until probably midnight. So when my alarm went off, I was still exhausted...but it's the day we're leaving for Disney so I woke up pretty quickly! I took a shower, packed my last minute things, woke Brandon up, who also took a shower, and then we loaded up the car and we were off to the airport!

Here's a picture I took while Brandon was driving:

I tried to get a picture of the airport entrance, by my camera is terrible when you try to take pictures while moving so that didn't work out! :confused3 We arrived at the airport around 5:30, I think? We parked in a long term lot, got a shuttle, and went in and checked our bags and made it through security pretty quickly. We then went where we always do when we fly out of Bradley, the Mc Donald's to get breakfast.

(Don't tell Brandon I put this picture up, he would kill me! :rotfl:)

After our breakfast, we went over to the gate and just sat there. I started freaking out a little, as I always do when I fly, and Brandon ignored me, as he always does when I freak out.

I tried to distract myself by playing with my camera and taking more pictures but nothing was coming out that great

so I just played around on my phone til it was time to board. We flew Southwest and had great boarding positions, 19 and 20 I think, and took seats near the back of the plane, hoping no one else would sit in our aisle! No such luck, the flight was sold out, and some pre-teen boy sat with us, who had Justin Bieber hair and shook it out the entire flight. He was cute, but OMG, that was annoying!

Eventually, we were in the air

and arrived in Disney about 30 minutes early! :cool1:

We quickly got off the plane, got on the mini monorail

IMG_1330.jpg

and went to get our luggage, which took forever! Finally we got our bags and went over to Alamo to get our car. I let Brandon pick out the car, and he picked a Chevy Malibu. There were maybe 6 cars to pick from, which was strange, because there is usually a whole aisle of cars and this time, there were not many at all. Oh well, as long as it gets us where we're going, I really don't care!

We got on the road and finally I saw this lovely, familiar sight

:cool1:

We drove straight to POR, even though it was probably 11, 11:30 am at the latest, and I knew our room wouldn't be ready, but I wanted to check in anyway and get our Keys to the World.

Woo hoo, we're here!

IMG_1335.jpg

We parked and went in to check in...and OMG, the lobby was a mob scene! I have never seen that many people checking in to a resort at one time! I did online check in so I thought that would save us some time, but even that line was ridiculously long! Finally it was our turn and the CM informed us that our room was in fact ready, and we were upgraded to a water view! Nice! We got back in the car and drove over to Oak Manor, which was one of my requests, and found our room

Once we got settled and unpacked, we decided to go somewhere for lunch before we got started in the parks! Where did we end up going for lunch? Somewhere you would not expect, that's for sure! And what park did we go to first? Stay tuned! :cool1:

Can't wait to hear all about the trip :surfweb:

Hello, :welcome:! I had to get started quickly or I'd forget everything, even with the notes I took! :rotfl:

Hopping on board! Can't wait to hear about the trip.

Yay, :welcome:, thanks for joining!

3rd is just as good as first!

That picture in front of the castle is terrible, but it's seriously the best one of us together. I just cannot take good pictures, and Brandon can't be serious when there is a camera in front of him, and when he is, he has this creepy smile. :confused3 Oh well, maybe next time when we're skinny we'll take better pictures!

I know I should have gotten AP's...I thought about it this trip too, but of course, it didn't happen! Oh well!

I looked at the Poly for Memorial Day weekend...$3000 for a package! :scared1: That's more than I paid for this past trip...I'll just never stay at the Poly! :sad1: Anyway, Memorial Day weekend is already not happening, I think we have decided on different dates, but I'll tell you when you're here on Thanksgiving!

I'm here! Your room looks so nice! I hope you guys enjoyed your first lunch! I think you told me where it was, but I don't remember :lmao:

I'm here! Great start! Looking forward to hearing all about your trip!

I'm here too!! So glad you started so quickly!

Woo Hoo for an early arrival, an upgrade and your room being ready! Looks like an amazing start to your trip!

Can't wait to read more!

Nice that the room was ready when you checked in. I love that! Hope you enjoyed your stay at POR. Our stay there was great.

I'm here!!! Haha, the Justin Bieber airplane companion thing made me laugh because I had this one student who was obsessed with him last year. She would absolutely love it even if she sat next to someone who LOOKED like him!

Yay! Our room was nice, but I'm glad they're refurbing them soon...there was nothing wrong with the room, it's just a bit outdated.

Haha, we enjoyed our first lunch, but it's not where I told you where we were going...it was lame!!! :rotfl:

I'm here! Great start! Looking forward to hearing all about your trip!

Hi, thanks! :) I'm going to try to do another update tonight, since I probably won't get to the next few days with Thanksgiving and everything!

I'm here too!! So glad you started so quickly!

Hi! I can't believe our room was ready, and that we got an upgrade! Our view was really nice, it was of one of the quiet pools! :thumbsup2

Nice that the room was ready when you checked in. I love that! Hope you enjoyed your stay at POR. Our stay there was great.

It was great having our room ready right away, I thought we were going to have to leave our stuff in the car, go to a park for a few hours, and come back to unpack, but it all worked out! It's one of the good things about POR being so big, I guess! :)

Hi!! :woohoo: OMG the Justin Bieber kid was so annoying with the hair shaking! :rotfl: I'm sure little girls love him, though!

popcorn:: joining in popcorn::

Yay, :welcome:, thanks for joining! :)

I'M HERE!!! Great start to the TR!! My friend from my TR..M (Meghan) flys out of Bradley too but when she went in Oct, I think she flew out of White Plains instead. I wonder where you'll eat??????

I'm here! Great start, can't wait for more! Oh, and I feel ya on the early flight.. ours leaves at 6:15 but at least we're in Orlando by 8:45! popcorn::

Hi Jen! I am so excited that you are starting your report...maybe we will be in the background to your pictures :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Love the picture of you and Brandon in front of the castle...must be love

Yay, hi!! Ugh I'm not a fan of White Plains, we flew out of there on our Disneymoon in May and it was soooo annoying! The only thing good about it is they have Jet Blue, but now so does Bradley so hopefully I'll never fly out of there again unless I can get really low airfare!

Hey!! :cool1: Thanks, I love flying out early and getting there so you still have a whole day ahead of you! It would be nice to not have to get up in the middle of the night, but it's worth it to have a whole extra Disney day! :)

Hey Nicki! That would be so funny if you guys were in my pics! :rotfl: I started reading your dining reviews tonight but I only got through a few of them, did you cancel your Mama Melrose ADR? I looked for you when I was there, but didn't see you!

I'm here! :goodvibes Great start! Your comment about the boy with the Justin Bieber hair had me cracking up!

I'm so glad you got your request at POR! I'm getting so excited to stay there and your pics are definitely adding to my excitement!

Can't wait for the next update! popcorn::
