We also had free dining which was amazing

Best vacation ever (besides my honeymoon in case she is reading this)

I couldn't believe it. POR was overbooked with a convention, so we were moved to YC. Then they mistakenly sent us to CL with a CM, so when they realized the mistake, they felt so bad to get our hopes up, they put us in a room facing the lake, right over the gazebo. Now that's what I call pixie dust! Unfortunately, we only booked 2 nights, but we made the best of it!

Reason: ?? Two engagements later in the trip, but they we never put on the ressie.

My mom asked if we could be upgraded to the treehouses and they told her it would be a downgrade. She was really confused. When the cast member said what we got upgraded to we were all shocked. The room was a palace. It was so nice to have so much space! We travel with eight people are we usually stay in two standard rooms.

These upgrades sound AMAZING!! Now i am honestly thinking of switching my ressie back to a standard room at CBR (which would save another $300) for our Honeymoon and MAYBE we will get a sprinkle of Pixie Dust because we have never gotten an upgrade!

Its so much fun to read these. We are excited to be staying at the Lodge for the first time, and already have a Courtyard view room, but hoping that maybe we'll get a little pixie dust to stay in a bear face room. My 5 year old would think it was fabulous that we were staying in a bear face. LOL!!

With our without an upgrade its going to be a magical trip if I can keep the secret for a few more days. Its killing me and my husband has insisted that I not tell her until we're driving through the gates at Disney. Dosen't he know how impossible that is. LOL!!

Just got back from a 6 night stay in WDW. 2 adults, no kids. Did a split stay at Poly for 3 nights and Beach Club for 3 nights. Checked-in online 10 days prior for both reservations. No celebrations or requests. 6th visit since January 2008.

We had 3 nights at Poly in a garden view room. No upgrade. We were in Rapa Nui, which worked great for us (Monorail access...and damn those rooms are huge).

Then, we had 3 nights at BC in a standard view room. We said that our anticipated arrival would be 8am; we got there around 9:15am. And this is where it got interesting...

We pulled up to the security hut, got our sheet of paper for the car, and parked the car (we were going to take luggage up later). We were met at the front door of the resort and taken to an elevator up to Club Level. A word was never said about being upgraded, and we never said anything.

So, we got 3 nights at BC in a Club Level standard view room. I would never pay for this out of pocket, but it was wonderful having free breakfast, free drinks (pop and alcohol) and random desserts at the end of the night, + will-call for MNSSHP without a line. Plus we could see Wishes and the edge of Illuminations from our balcony.

The best part?

We used annual pass discounts. I believe the room at BC was booked for $239 a night, and the room we got would've been $475 a night.

We ended up saving a good chunk of change since we had 2 breakfast reservations that we cancelled since we basically got free breakfast with the room.

The receipt we got at the end of the stay showed Standard View- Club Level @ $239 a night plus taxes.

We booked a standard room at POP and received and upgrade to an Old Key West Studio. We jumped at the upgrade!

When we opened the door to our room, it was a two bedroom villa!!!! I was unfamiliar with such a thing so I called the front desk to make sure we were in the right room. We were and loved it.

Disney knows what they are doing because, although we still book POP every trip, they had us hooked from that moment on.

Back in 2004 at AKL we were upgraded from standard view to savannah view simply because I requested a room with bunkbeds and that was only one available. It was in August and just after a hurricane so parks were bare.

Last June 2011 we were upgraded from Contemporary Deluxe Garden room (has a king bed with queen sleeper) to Magic Kingdom view Atrium Club.

We told 14 yr old birthday boy due to him but later when I checked out area for next time I noticed that the deluxe "corner" was getting windows washed so ????

Not an upgrade but at Pop Century I told check -in I was glad to be back for 5th visit and she pulled out map and asked me where I wanted to be as long as in my own category(standard), I picked a room with view of lake

we were booked @ pop standard room with free dining and we received an email for a free upgrade to saratoga in a 1 br villa!!! i called right away and switched everything over, my inlaws were traveling with us and they upgraded them also, it was awesome!!

In 10 stays we have been upgraded once. In April 2011 we booked a standard in WL and were upgraded to a great Courtyard view. It was a great treat. No special occasions were listed on my reservation.

I've noticed on this thread and a previous "upgrade" thread that it seems like WL and AKL are generous with upgrades.
