We all love pixie dust! Tell about your upgrades!

Does anyone know if upgrades are given to time share rooms? We are using time share points to stay on Disney property next month (Saratoga Springs). It would be awesome to get an upgrade, if possible.

Reading these stories are great! I have been to Disney a lot and never received any upgrades but then again we always go with my parents and stay at CSR and they ask for a very specific area (right by one of the quiet pools). We are heading back next week :yay: and have convinced my parents to stay at BWV . We didn't request anything special since we don't know anything about the resort. I just called today to link the reservations and see if we could get adjoining rooms. I also told them we were celebrating my father's cancer just going into remission so hoping for some magical dust!

This is OT, but I just wanted to say, Congrats to your dad! My mom just went into cancer remission too and we are going to DW next month to celebrate. Cheers! :cheer2:

LOL...think I saw 1 value room upgrade! Guess not much to upgrade to, other than a preferred location. Can you request a room in the Surf's Up building at ASSPorts? Not expecting an upgrade to a mod! So, figure I might as well make a request and hope that we get it...would like to request surf's up building, but not sure if you can "request" it given it is preffered and therefore carries a surcharge...No matter what, we are excited for my family's first visit!

on our may honeymoon we checked into the grand floridian after our amazing disney dream cruise and were upgraded from standard outer building to sugar loaf club level! this was my first time staying at a deluxe resort (11 other trips with values and mods) and it was the ultimate wedding present from disney! i started bawling at the check-in desk but i couldn't help it lol dreams do come true at disney!:cloud9:

Our first WL trip is in 4 days (first ever trip for DD4) and we have a standard room, too. I hope you get some dust!

If we are lucky enough to find some I will send some your way

This was all in one trip at the Dolphin. We booked a standard room with a standard view and double beds.

3 upgrades:
Room #1 - Standard Room with Double Beds with Resort View (or Park View? We had a view of Tower of Terror, Hollywood Studios, and the pool)
Room #2 - Resort View with King Sized Bed
Room #3 - Resort View Premium Studio (I think? It's the closest thing on the website). It was twice as big as a standard room with a little wet bar and living room area, plus a king bed.

We didn't find out about our first upgrade until we reached the room. Opening the windows was a nice surprise! Then after the first night, we decided we wanted a king sized bed. I went to the lobby to ask what our options were to move to a room with a king bed, fully preparing to have to pay for it. She moved us, without any extra charge. After the second night, they upgraded us because the king-sized bed room (room #2) was not supposed to be occupied (they were doing fire-alarm testing).

One of my friends went down with her daughter for the cheerleading competition one year and was supposed to stay at Pop.

Imagine her surprise when she got there to find that Pop had overbooked and was put in the Contemporary instead. She absolutely loved it. I would like that kind of upgrade myself sometime ;).

2002; booked at POR, standard room - upgraded to the Dolphin, waterview.

2009; booked at POR, standard room - with the 4/3 deal, able to upgrade to SSR studio, waterview room, with $100.00 savings.

2010; booked at POR, waterview room; requested Oak Manor, pool view; got Parterre Place, corner room, king bed, riverview!!! My favorite so far.

I love reading all the pixie dust stories. With the year its been, I am really hoping for some pixie dust being thrown my way! Congrats to all that have received upgrades in the past and who will in the future!

I was hoping to find a thread like this! Getting upgraded would be magical but I'm always just happy to be back home at WDW! We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary on this upcoming trip and I keep daydreaming that we get an upgrade...

In 2006-
Booked a savannah view room(room with a pull-out sofa) at AKL for 5 people
When checking in they mentioned that we had two connecting rooms and I politely told them that I only booked one and couldn't afford two rooms. They said they didn't have any more rooms like the one we booked so they gave us a connecting room for free. One room was two queens, the connecting had bunkbeds

This is a great, great thread.

Who can't be happy for others who received the unexpected upgrades.

Congrats to all! :thumbsup2 It warms the heart reading about the reactions to the upgrades.
Dan
