But be honest - if someone offered you a free WDW holiday, you'd just through hoops of fire for it, wouldn't you?
I would agree. A free trip where I was at the beck and call of someone else the entire time really means I am paying for that trip with time instead of cash. If it was a free trip with no strings attached, then sure, I would accept. I do enter sweepstakes to try and win Disney trips, but I haven’t won one yet . . .Normally yes I would love a free trip but I did say no to a free WDW once. It was when my uncle and his family were going and they invited me on the condition that I babysit their kids every night and whenever they wanted. The kids had zero interest in the parks and just wanted to swim at the hotel pool, so that meant I would be at the pool the entire trip while they went to the parks. I passed on that because that didn't seem that fun to me.
Yeah that's how I felt. They would've paid for my hotel room and flights but I doubt I would've had any free time. They haven't been to Disney since as the kids are 100% fine with doing beach vacations that are way cheaper lol (they live in Spain so it's not too hard for them to go to the beach).I would agree. Maybe you could have talked them into the water parks? Better than just hanging out at a hotel, in my opinion. Still, unless they straight up said it was a babysitter trip so you knew exactly what you were getting into, it’s a hard no.Yeah that's how I felt. I got the vibe that they really wanted someone to watch the kids rather than spend time with me, so that's mainly why I said no. They stayed at AKL because the kids love animals as much as the pool. The only parks they went to were AK and Seaworld. Kids didn't care about the other Disney parks at all.Maybe you could have talked them into the water parks? As long as it did not involve a time share, of course I would jump on the chance to travel just about anywhere. Are you making an offer? But be honest - if someone offered you a free WDW holiday, you'd just through hoops of fire for it, wouldn't you?
Nope! Even if they paid me. They need to care about their guests and make several changes before they see us again. But be honest - if someone offered you a free WDW holiday, you'd just through hoops of fire for it, wouldn't you?

Good grief, that's a lot of moneyShow me the hoops and let’s get this over with!
I would value the free trip more than its dollar value, because if someone handed me just the cash I’d feel the need to be responsible and divvy it up between emergency fund, household needs and then a portion to vacation fund.
Whereas a free trip that’s all booked means we can just go have a wonderful vacation.
If a 7-day trip costs me $7k (CDN), I’d value a free one at least worth $10k.
Tell me about it. Sigh. If we buy Genie Plus, we’re out like $900 just walking into Magic Kingdom as a family of 4 for the day.Good grief, that's a lot of money
Yeah, that was probably a good call. Yuck..Normally yes I would love a free trip but I did say no to a free WDW once. Same. We live near Orlando and my kids have been invited to Disney for free for friends' birthdays and stuff. They almost always decline. I'm the same way. It's too hot, crowded and complicated to be enjoyable. Maybe if someone offered me a free pass for a VIP park tour, then I would probably say yes.nope.
we were last in orlando in 2019. we were there off season and wdw was still a madhouse. over crowded and far too chaotic for my taste. i've loved my disney trips (esp. disneyland which will always be first in my heart) but when i have to be anxious over making sure i have all my dining decisions planned out so far in advance, planning what minute of what day we have to get in line for a particular park or ride or parade....it's not the kind of vacation i look forward to any longer.
