I went with the 26th so I guess I'm in the minority group haha. MK will close to capactiy every day Xmas week..depending on how busy it is, it will reopen in stages. There will be a line outside of the park and when so many go out, so many will go in. When I worked at AK 2 years ago, our managers had to radio us to tell us what parks were at what stage of capacity. It was kind of fun because we would take bets with my internship team to see when the parks would close!

Even AK reached capactiy when I was working there 2 years ago! It's crazy during the holidays but it's all worth it!

Well you just talked me out of ever going Christmas week. OK, you didn't talk me out of it. The resort prices did that for me a long time ago, so you just, umm. re-affirmed the fact that I won't be there on Christmas week.

The resort prices were difficult to swallow. Too bad it's the only time I can go! It was either suck it up and pay it, or don't go to WDW for a whole extra year! There was no contest there for me!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to post a quick mini update before I head to bed. I've been out of town for a few days for a teaching seminar, so I am beat. Plus, tomorrow is our big move! As soon as I get the new apartment set up and decorated I will post pictures!

Anyway, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave me their opinion about when we should leave in December! I really appreciate you all taking the time to help me make this decision!

I've thought about it, and as of right now we are going to leave on Christmas Day. We will probably wait until 7 or 8pm (after Christmas dinner) and then head out. However, rather than driving all night I think we will drive until midnight or so, and then make the rest of the trip the next morning. That way we are still getting some rest, but getting a jump start on our driving!

Thanks again to everyone who helped me come to this decision! I will be back tomorrow with another update (I still need to introduce our trip mascot) and the next round of The Waiting Game! See ya then!

One thing you might want to look into for your drive would be seeing how far you'd be driving in those four hours and then booking a cheap hotel room in that city. That way, you have the room guaranteed and don't have to worry about "what if we can't find a room". I'm sure you could even pick one city that you'd be at after four hours of driving and just find a hotel along the highway and book My parents did that for their recent road trip and they said it was so much easier than worrying.

Even though the answer has already been given as it is Tower of Terror, I'm just excited that I was actually home for this one. Just to be silly, I'm going to Tomorrowland Transit Authority even though I don't know that I've ever actually see a wait sign for TTA since there's usually no wait!
