The stuff I've found on the DIS has said that last year the package changed to where they make you eat before your CP show. So, for the 5:00 show, you end up eating lunch and for the 6:45 show you end up eating a pretty early dinner. I think the last show is the best option, but the reserved viewing area (if they do that again this year) is near the entrance to WS from the Future area which makes for a long walk in not much time to make it after the CP is over before Illuminations starts. I think Illuminations doesn't start until 9:30 on CP nights, which gives you 15-20 minutes to make the walk.

Thanks for clarifying my comments....the last time I did CP was in 2007, so I should have known that things have changed since then....:thumbsup2

I think the CP package sounds like a good idea but we haven't done it before. We're still waiting for reservations to open up (trying to snag Le Cellier on 24 Dec). :)

Depending on what the policy is this year, you may be able to get reservations for the package before 90 days out. The thread I've been following is this one: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2426127

Thanks for your input and for sharing that thread with me! I've subscribed to it, so I'm going to follow it closely! :thumbsup2

I hope you get your CP package for December 24th! That would be such a magical way to spend Christmas Eve, and I bet the celebrity narrator that night would be good! :goodvibes

I would definately recommend the CP dinner package---it's the best way to dine and get your seats for CP guaranteed. A word of warning...there are only A limited amount of tables reserved for the CP package. I would call and see what they have available.....and then GRAB it. Le Cellier is probably the MOST POPULAR of the dining locations offering the CP package, so plan to spend your Epcot evening with dinner and the CP.

The way it works is that there are 3 CP shows....5:00, 6:45 and 8:00. If you go to the 5:00 show, then you're dining reservations will be for AFTER (which runs the risk that you will be still eating while Illuminations starts). If you elect the 2nd CP show, then it's a crap shoot, you could either get a real EARLY dinner time or somthing after the show is over, and you'd DEFINATELY miss Illuminations. IMO the best is to try to get the LAST show, so your dining reservation is closer to a normal dinner time, and the CP ends about 10 minutes before Illuminations starts...a WIN/WIN all around!!

I think your plan ROCKS!! :woohoo:

Thank you for your input and advice! :) I really hope we can get the package for Le Cellier because I am determined to eat there! Honestly, if we can't keep our Le Cellier reservations I think I will just skip the CP package, because I have always wanted to eat there.

I called Disney Dining earlier, and they said CP packages should be available around the end of the month! Fingers crossed! :bitelip:

I would definitely try to do the Candlelight Processional if I were you, and I think getting a package is the best way to do it! Another thing I'm missing out on by going before Thanksgiving! :confused3 I just don't know if they let you add the package to an existing reservation? If they do, I say go for it, you can always eat at LTT another time, or even pay for it OOP if you really want to try it! :cool1:

LOL...if I do decide to do these special things, I will definitely text you and let you know, right now I'm just thinking about it!

Thanks, I really didn't think my plans were that great! I keep meaning to post an itinerary but I never get around to it! And I know I'm going to change it 10 more times before November :) It's ok that you didn't text me, I was just joking, but I love talking about Disney plans, so anytime you're thinking of doing something, feel free to text me, anytime! My DH is SO sick of hearing about Disney and planning and everything!

I'm not a big fan of mangoes...I like Mango Madness Snapple! But that's about it, so I will most likely skip that! Maybe I'll try one and let you know how it is while I'm there! Like I said, text me anytime during my trip, I LOVE updating people while I'm there! :goodvibes

Thanks for your input! :) I think you're right, I don't think I can add it to my existing reservation. I think it will have to be an all new one. That's okay, as long as we still get to eat at Le Cellier! :goodvibes And honestly, LTT was the restaurant I was least excited about, so it's really not a big deal if we don't get to eat there this trip. Especially since we are doing the Wishes Dessert Party now! :woohoo:

Anytime you need to talk Disney and your DH doesn't want to hear it please call or text me! I'm always ready to talk Disney plans! :rotfl:

Yay! I can't wait to text you during your trip! It makes me feel like I'm there too! :lovestruc And I definitely need specific details about these yummy looking desserts so I know what's good and what to skip! :thumbsup2

I'm back for the third update today, because it's time for The Waiting Game! :woohoo: Thank you all so much for waiting so patiently! I think I've picked a really good one this week. But you all are Disney experts, so I'm sure someone will get it pretty quickly! ;)

Remember, the first person to guess correctly wins! Only one guess per person, and no editing your answer after it's posted, please! :)

Please name the ride or attraction with this wait time sign:

The holiday sleigh ride is such a wonderful surprise and a very cute idea. I'd love to do that with my hunny one day.

I knew it! This was the trickiest one I've been able to find so far, and someone already got it! You guys are good! ;) The correct answer for this week is Malestrom! Great job, ChildAtHeart82! :thumbsup2 And thank you everyone else who played! You all had really great guesses! :goodvibes

Scoresheet
DisneyFirefly- 1
Nermel9- 1
ChildAtHeart82- 2

Alright, ChildAtHeart82 is in the lead! :cheer2: Remember everyone, we still have plenty of weeks left before my trip, so it's still anyone's game! Thank you again to everyone who played! :)

I am going to say Maelstrom.

Great job!! :thumbsup2 You're quick, too!

I'm guessing the Tiki Room?!

That was a great guess! :goodvibes I'm tricky! ;)

Crap, I have no idea, I am going to say Country Bear Jamboree

Good guess, girl! :)

I'm glad this one was a little tougher! I don't want to make it too easy on you guys! :rotfl:

Thank you! I'm glad you like the idea! :goodvibes I will let you know how it is in case you decide to try it someday!

I agree that this a really tough one! :)

Not tough enough to trick you! ;)

man i missed it again!!! Oh well haha, I'll miss the following 2 weeks as well--bridal shower/bachelorette party next weekend and I'll be in WDW the following weekend ( I should bet a point for that!)

Maelstrom! I should be ashamed of myself, that's one of my favorite Epcot rides! I was really thinking it was something in Adventureland, but I was also thinking it might be something in World Showcase, but I had no idea what! :rotfl:

That's okay, you've had a lot going on! ;) I can't believe you'll be in WDW in just a few weeks! I'm so happy for you! (Okay...and a little bit jealous! :rotfl:)

UGH!! I logged off to watch TWILIGHT and I missed the WAITING game.....double DARN it!!
:headache:

That's okay, you'll have another chance next week! :) And since you were watching Twilight, I think that's understandable! :rotfl:

Never rode Malestrom so I had no freaking clue! LOL!

Haha, sorry girl! I think next week's clue is DEFINITELY something you've ridden. :thumbsup2

OK, I'm in. I look forward to participating in your trivia contests.

 Thank you for joining in! I'm so glad you're here! Stay tuned- Round 5 will be posted next Saturday! :goodvibes

Boo, I always miss your game because Saturday is my only day of the week that I get to spend with DFi! Haha, I guess that's better though. I do always look for the pic before looking at the answers though, so it's still fun for me!

I'm sorry! But at least you are getting to see DFi, and you're right, that's better than my silly ol' game! ;) I'm glad you still play along! :goodvibes

Hi everyone! I have been on the boards a lot this weekend, and I'm back now with another update! I have two changes to discuss today! :goodvibes

First: I was talking to Heather last night about how difficult it might be to book the CP package for Le Cellier. She was telling me that when her family did the CP package they ate at Chefs de France, and it was a lot easier to get a ressie there. Well, Chefs de France had been my other top pick for our meal at Epcot, but I had ended up going with Le Cellier. DH is a much pickier eater than me, so I decided to have him look at the menus for LC and Chefs and tell me which he preferred. I figured if he could find something on the Chefs menu he liked it would be okay if we ended up not getting a CP package for LC. Well, he looked, and he LOVED the Chefs menu! He asked could we please please eat there instead of LC, and I said "Of course, Dear!" :love2: So now, whether we are able to get the CP package or not, we will be eating at Chefs de France on our Epcot day! I booked an ADR for 7:10pm on December 28th, just in case we can't get the CP package. I know a lot of you probably think I'm nuts for ditching that coveted LC ADR, but I love the menu at Chefs and I want my DH to eat where he wants! Plus, he is learning to speak French in the Army so he can dazzle me with his French speaking skills! :lovestruc I'm sure we will eat at LC someday, but just not this trip!

Second: I realized this morning that we might have an issue on our first day, December 26. As you all know, I booked the Wishes Dessert Party for that night at MK. However, we were planning on leaving NC that morning around 4am, and probably arriving at WDW around 3pm. That seemed like a great plan, until I read a message board that says that EVERY SINGLE DAY during the week we will be at Disney MK is usually filled to capacity and closed by 10am! :scared1: If we can't get into MK we can't go to our dessert party! I looked into flights for that week to see if we could fly instead of driving, but plane tickets were around $1000 per person! There's no way we could afford that. I was talking to Jen about it, and I told her I am thinking now that we will probably leave on Christmas day. I feel guilty leaving my family on Christmas, but if we do this we will not leave until after Christmas dinner. Then we will just drive as much as we can that night and get up really early to finish the trip in the morning. Knowing DH, he will probably want to stay awake and drive all night, which is fine by me! ;) Either way, we should be able to get there earlier enough to drop our stuff off with the resort (I'm sure our room won't be ready) and head to MK!

So, what do you guys think of these changes?

One more thing before I end my ramblings.

I needed some new shoes for work so DH and I decided to do some shopping this afternoon. We went to JCPennys where I got a great pair of comfortable dress shoes for $40. (That's a little bit much for me, but they are usually $70 so it's okay!) Then we went to Wal Mart. I was going to just buy a new color ink cartridge and some paper, but then I found these babies:

How adorable are these PJs?! :lovestruc And the best part is, they were on clearance for $7! I love Eeyore, and I had to have them. If you can't tell in the picture, they say "Everyday is a good day". I love them! I just wanted to share my new Disney purchase with all my fellow addicts! ;)
