WDWWDS - Quench your thirst

Oh, I concur - I fell in love with Han a LONG time ago (in a galaxy far, far away?) But Ewan's not too hard on the eyes. I never thought I would have said it, but Obi-wan's kinda hot.

And there is some good humor in Ep I and II - just not that scoundrel humo(u)r we've come to know and love. And for the record, Jar Jar has the best line in EpI - it's just so hard to understand him no one catches it. Bummer - maybe he wouldn't be so annoying then. But i digress....

I don't know how many times I've seen it a lot of times for the first trilogy, and only really a handful of the new ones. You see, I don't own 1 and 2 on DVD. GASP! "Why not!?!" you ask - well, ya see... I have 4 different versions of the origianl on VHS - the origianl VHS release, the remastered release, then they came out with a remastered letterbox release, and lastly the Special Edition letterbox release. SOOOOO, I'm waiting for 3 to come out, then I'm gonna buy the Ultimate Box Set - all 6 movies on DVD. You just Know they're gonna put out a big box set.

But if you haven't seen EpII yet, don't worry, Jar Jar is barely there and far less annoying. But Yoda! Yoda is awesome! And I'm not refering to the lightsaber fight ya'll have heard about. This movie's got to be quintisential Yoda. The bit with the kids and Obi-wan is great.

KP??? Girl - what the heck is a matter with you??? You call THAT hot??? :p ;)

..and did anyone else think that Luke was the biggest dork and Mark Hamill was the most horrible actor with the worse Farrah Fawcett 'do' ever???

Like twins...:teeth:

ROFLMAO!

Yeah Luke was a bit dorky in Ep4, but he got meaner and more ominous looking after the accident/reconstructive face surgery.

Speaking of changing...Leia went from being a rather goofy looking Cinnabon princess to a hottie...

Ok KP - now you've got me hooked.

I got to catch the last half of episode 2 this morning from about 2-3 am. Couldn't sleep and there it was on cable.

Question:: who was the little boy that you see during the battle scene ? I'm assuming there was some significance that I missed.

I can't believe that was Jimmy Smits. I love him, but not in the few seconds I saw of him here. Was he a good or bad guy??

Now I have to rent episode one.

Lizzie - was that Ep2 you were watching? Was there a space battle portion, or just ground battle? I don't recall a little boy in Ep2's battle (at the end of the movie, Yoda says "Begun, these Clone Wars have." -- so if you didn't have that, then it was Ep1 that you saw. Well, that and the wedding.

And if it was Ep1 you saw, Jimmy wasn't in it. (in Ep2 his part was small, but in Ep3 it's MUCH bigger). Jimmy plays a good guy (he raises Leia).

M - I'm not talking about Sir Alec -- I'm talking Ewan!!! (but you knew that and are just teasing me - I know you. Troublemaker!;) )

-KP

Hey KP - It was the ground war after the execution scene. This little boy is shown a couple of times and the last time he is holding the head of one of the "Storm trooper looking guys."

Episode 3 isn't out yet right. Is Jimmy Smits in it, or is it his character??

but you knew that and are just teasing me - I know you. Troublemaker
I think the term you are looking for is *Entertainment Maker*...but I'm kinda/sorta use to being referred to as *Trouble* instead. :teeth:

But just remember - it's only *trouble* if you get caught... ;)

Oh geez - don't let OT see this.... The little boy is Boba Fett -- his 'Dad' is the guy in the Blue and Silver outfit that gets his head removed by Sam Jackson (Mace Windu) - Jango Fett. So Boba grows up to be a kick-*** bounty hunter -- the guy who catches Han Solo, Leia and crew at Cloud City. Boba is, in fact, a clone of Jango Fett -- as are all the Clone Troopers (stromtrooper looking guys). The movie has several twists in it - so I won't spoil it for ya - you'll just have to watch the whole thing.

Plus, the Sonic Charges are the sweetest sound effect in the history of movies.

edit: forgot to add - Ep 3 comes out May 2005. And yes, Jimmy is in it as Bail Organa.

-KP

Oh YEAH!!! Jimmy Smits!!! UH HUH UH HUH:smooth:

I always liked Star Wars, eps 4, 5 and 6, but now KP you've got me into the prior history of eps 1,2 and 3.

I still have to rent 1.

Good Lord, how could you forget Boba Fett, KP??

Speaking of Boba...I'm interested to see what happens to him between the time he's holding Jango's head and when we meet him again in Ep 5 and 6. He doesn't actually appear in Ep4, does he KP? I can't remember.
But you know, for a character who played such a big role, Boba sure had a rather unceremonious and rather embarassing death. So unlike his dad in that respect.

OT - Boba appears breifly in Ep4 Special Edition. In the Jabba scene, Boba's in the Background. I'll be interested to see if he's in Ep3.

And for the record, Boba didn't die in the Sarlacc - he blasted his way out, thus killing the Sarlacc, and continuing on being the Galactic badarse that he is. (it covered in the "Expanded Universie" books - and since they're officially licensed, it's considered a genuine part of the story.)

If you're interested in all those EU books, I've got a list here:Star Wars List

I use to have a Star Wars figure of Boba Fett from like the 70s'.

My mother gave a bunch of my old toys to her nephew - who needless to say - destroyed my original Star Wars clan.....

Anybody else realize how much I could have fetched for those on ebay now??? grrr.............

That's amazing M - did your folks go forward in time to 1980 to get that for you? Man, I wish my Mom could time travel.

:p

70s'/80s' - whatever....I was a kid - both decades were a 'blur' to me...

and on a side note - if anyone ever makes fun of MY obsession with Clay after reading about KP's with Star Wars...I'll kill them myself.

Ahh, now THAT'S what I would expect from any clone of Jango Fett, who I thought was one tough looking dude himself. I mean to accidentally have your jetpack engaged by a blindfolded Han, slam into Jabba's party ship, get knocked out and fall into the Sarlacc is a pretty wussy way to go.

Now Jabba's demise....that's the way to go...getting choked to death by your half naked slave girl using her leash!

Ok KP, oh wise galactic genius....who was Darth Sidious apprentice to? I doubt he was the first of the Sith, so was there someone before him? Also what's up with him, he seems to have the same aging issue as Yoda? In Ep's 1,2 he looks around 50ish, maybe 60. But in Ep 4-6, he looks like he's a thousand years old. Maybe the dark side does that to you. I'm thinking that Anakin and Padme have to be together for a while before having the twins.

BTW, does Christopher Lee like playing traitors who have been lured to the bad side? He's done it in two blockbuster movies now.

Ah...ok - so in a form of the English language oppose to *Starwarsian*... are you saying that the scene in Return of the Jedi after Han wakes from being frozen, where Boba frees them all from Jabba - that dude didn't die in that scene???

When you all are finished talking about Star Wars, we have something else to talk about come Thursday. Temptation Island i s starting its new season!

I see M need a little 'freasher' course. :D Boba Fett is the bounty hunter dude with the jet pack - he's the guy who Captured Han, he doesn't free him/them. Han's holding a vibro-axe and says "Boba Fett? Boba Fett? Where?" and when he turns around, hits Boba's jet pack which sends him crashing into the Sail Barge, and thusly into the Sarlacc pit to his supposed death. But, Boba's got a utility belt full of tricks and blasts his way out of the sarlacc.

As for Sidious's master - not sure. I'll have to see if it's been published. And yeah, the Dark Side tends to lead to premature aging. Like smoking and too much sun.

As for Christopher Lee - that's just who he is.

And Ep3 takes place about 2/3 years after Ep2, so Annie and Padme don't wait too long.

Temptation Island is starting its new season!

surely you jest...
