OK so I am OLD to WDW but new to this forum.... I lurked in the past but tonight I officially registered!

Despite 25+ trips, I have never traveled with a child, except when I WAS the child..... so I have a few questions. I apologize in advance if these were answered somewhere else on the forums but it is HUGE and it is 9:50 PM and I am tired, so I quit looking.

We are staying at BWV from 5/11-5/20/07 in a 2 BR with DH, DP (dear parents) and one year old DD. I requested a crib when I made the reservation. Do I need to bring crib sheets? If I don't get the crib I assume DD will have to sleep in the Pack and Play in the room - do I need to bring P & P sheets as well, as they are different?

Is there a high chair in the room? If not we will have to pack her booster seat.

Finally, in 2004 my brother rented an electric scooter from a reputable local scooter rental place. They delivered it to the resort and picked it up on our last day. I can't for the life of me remember what company that was! If you have used a company like that please advise of phone # or website.

Thanks in advance, you smart people you!

Good night!

Pack N Play sheets are provided...however you may want to bring your own if you want to make sure they're clean. Although, in a 2Br you'll have your own washer/dryer if you want to wash them yourself. No highchair is provided... travel booster might be nice to bring to the parks if you have one of them. I know BabiesRUs sells a very lightweight one that has a handle if you want to check it out.

It's possible you could call the front desk to "request" a highchair...but you wouldn't be guaranteed that they have one, so I'd have a backup plan just in case. Have a great trip!

(I'm in southeastern PA too!):thumbsup2

Thanks for the quick response... when I spoke to MS this morning they told me that a highchair would be available and noted it on the res - not sure if that is a guarantee or not. Where are you in Southeastern PA? We are in Gilbertsville, near Pottstown.

Also, how do I get a nifty avitar? I have never been able to figure them out........... THANKS!!

I'm in Delaware County... not too far!:hippie:

If MS said you'd get a high-chair...that's great!

It's been a little while, but I think I got my avatar by clicking on "my profile" and then playing around a bit by clicking on all of the little doo-dads that look like wrenchs on each section. Good Luck and have a great trip!:woohoo:

In every single 1 or 2 bedroom I have stayed in there HAS been a high chair. And I have never requested one. And sometimes there have not been sheets for the pack n play, so I would bring your own just to be safe.

Have a wonderful time!

I've always seen a high chair in the closet of all the DVC units we've stayed in, so you should be all set with that. Have a great trip!

Should this occur and you had not planned for it, you can certainly request bedding for the pack and play after arrival, and it should be delivered to your room.

I just wanted to say hello! I live right next to Pottstown, PA!!! Hello neighbor! :)

Just another quick tip if this is the first time at WDW with a baby. Be sure to take advantage of the Baby Care Centers at the parks! When we took our first trip with kids to WDW I had no idea that they existed and thankfully a very helpful cast member told me about them when our baby got fussy! They have quiet rooms for feeding, a room with changing tables - with rolls of paper (kind of like the dr. office) to keep things clean - rocking chairs - a kitchen and also lots of baby supplies (diapers, food, etc.). Obviously the supplies are for sale - a little expensive - but a great help when you discover that you left the extra diapers in the room! (as I did...) Its also just a great place to give them a break - I ended up rocking our little one for an hour or so - a nice, quiet air-conditioned break! Sorry if you knew all of this already - I just wish I would have known sooner on our first trip! Have a great time!

:offtopic: Hi Neighgbors,,DW is from Stowe, FIL still lives there. I transplanted from AC to Pottstown 30 years ago after 6 years in the Corp, we're up by Allentown now but back to Stowe atleast every other week. (30 years ago! am I that old?):scared1:

In addition to the P&P sheets, they gave us a couple of blankets too. The highchair is your standard restaurant style.

Also, I saw your question about the electric scooter. We have never needed one, but I took a look in my Birnbaum's WDW 2007 guide and they list 3 different rental companies. Maybe someone else has used them and can give some insight as to how they are.

We have always had a high chair in the room. I do bring my pac n play sheet. I am going down the 11th-15th with my 2 DS (1 and 6) and my DH. We are in a studio at BWV...and we are in Limerick (DH works in Pottstown). We will have to meet up at the pool some afternoon:thumbsup2

DS(21 mths) was down when he was 16mths old and loved it. Bring swim diapers to the parks so the baby can splash in the various wet play areas.

As others have said, there is a sheet provided with the pack and play - but we always bring our own anyway. Since you are at BWV and there is an anchor Disney Resort, you may be able to get a crib, but that is not guaranteed. If you do, they'll provide a crib sheet. Again, we always bring our own.

There will be a wooden high chair in one of the closets -- if it is a dedicated 2BR, the high chair will be in the studio closet.

If you have any other questions regarding WDW with young ones, let me know. We've taken two trip with our daughter already -- once at 5mo and once at 1yo. Feel free to read my trip reports in my signature -- Both the May 2006 and September 2005 ones are the trips with our daughter. In them I speak quite a bit about being there with a baby/toddler.

BTW, WELCOME TO THE DIS!

Near the top of the board, there is a disABILITIES FAQs thread. That includes contact information (including phone numbers and links) to the companies that DIS posters have consistently posted good experiences with.

How old was amelia in your trip report from 2005? Although I am a stepdad and have a disabled step son, I have never had to care for an infant. I didn't even think to check these baby stations in Disney back in January. My wife will give birth in a few weeks and our son will be about 7 months old during our vacation in january to BWV. So, I'm kinda nervous about everything involved with caring for an infant let alone one at disney.

I second the posting about the Baby Care Centers--they are so nice and cool and quiet! I loved the private nursing rooms (AK I know has these--not sure about the older parks), dimly lit with rocking chairs, and my sons were happy that there was a playroom for older siblings with a movie showing and toys to play with while I fed the baby. A great place for a mid-morning break.

One thing about the crib/pack and play. While sheets are available, there aren't any baby blankets, so you might want to bring your own from home. I know newborns don't use them, but our toddlers always did, and the times we forgot them at home, we had to use a bath towel, which didn't work as well.

Have fun with your little one!

Hey there neighbors!!!! we are across the bridge in NJ. We are going to Disney in Nov, our DD will be 11 months at that time. This was a great thread to read, THANK YOU!!!!! I have never been to Disney with a baby.

You're taking our trip 2 months before us. We also are staying at BWV in a 2BR with my DW, DD (11 months at trip) and parents (grandma and grandpa were not missing the first trip to Disney with their granddaugther).

You'll have to give us the heads up on what worked well and didn't.

I'd also recommend packing crib/p&p sheets as they're familiar to the infant and they'll hopefully be more comfortable. I've heard some horror stories (and some pleasant as well) about babies not sleeping in the strange environment.

To answer the question about Pack&Play sheets, they are different than regular crib sheets, but you can make do with a regular sheet instead if you don't mind it bunching up a little.

Also wanted to say that there is also a 'Disney for Families' (about a third of the way down in the scroll menu at the bottom right of this screen) with LOTS of advice on Disney with little ones if any of you are interested in more info!
