WDW Water: Still sweet and pure!!

Well, I can't believe that Im about to say this but...Well said OT!!

I also thought Carmen was GREAT last night, and her fans will push her through yet again (the name RJ comes to mind)

Trenyce just annoys me...I think when Simon said "We don't know anything about you - it's like your wearing a mask..." (did anyone else think that he was getting at the fact of her criminal record??? Cause last I heard, we didn't know anything about Kim L. either?!?) Not that there's anything wrong with that...personally I dont want to know anything about either one of them...

...and Josh...at first I thought he was in for sure when he said "I chose this song because I use to sing it to my wife in highschool" and then he started singing...errr....and she STILL married you?!?

I still can not decide between the bottom 3 which will go out: Trenyce, Carmen or Josh

I am so getting bored with AI this season. Josh stunk, Carmen stunk worse (you all thought she was good???? I guess I missed something). Clay is ick, Ruben is the same old thing, Trenyce is okay but I don't like that style of singing and Kimberly L. is coming on strong but there's something about her I can't get excited about.

Bottom Three: Josh, Trenyce and Carmen with Carmen getting the boot.

By the way, does anyone else have an urge to color their hair?

What I don't understand is : why are they picking these genre's every week. What happened to Big Band, Jazz like last year?

I want to see them sing different types of songs so they can prove they can perform different rythmns. What's next, commercial jingles?

Anyway,

Last night was so so. Not exciting, (except for Clay of course.)

Kim Locke, - doesn't do it for me. She always starts off key then picks it up.

Clay - what can I say. I think he sounded great. You never hear a flat key from him. His notes are always right on. I liked his performance too. Moved a little more, was a little more expressive. And, damn, I like that leather jacket. Let's get him a pair of leather pants for next week. He looked good!!

In my opinion - if everyone says he is suited for Broadway, then that makes him the strongest singer out there. You can't be on Broadway with a voice like Josh's or Treynece. You need power and he has it.

Treynece - I just can't stand her. I have no tolerance for her. And that finger tapping on the mike is going to drive me insane. If this was a Whitney Idol show, she'd win. SHE MUST GO

Josh - I was sorry for his performance last night. I like him and I like his voice, but he was horrible last night. He will be bottom 3

Carmen - Didn't deserve the crap she got from Randy and Simon. She did great last night. I agree there were better out there (Julia comes to mind) but she's 18 and singing her soul on TV and doesn't deserve to be humiliated. I think those comments by Randy and Simon, will work against them and she will be saved by sympathy votes. Bottom 3

Ruben - Was not good last night. I really think he can't do the vocal range from that song. He's not good with upper register. And please stop extending your hand. I just want to slap it down. Every other word was you or when he couldn't hit the notes it was "you, you "

Sorry so long - had to vent

Bottom 3

Carmen
Josh
Treynece

Getting the Boot - Treynece.

Wow, seems like so far we're al in agreement on the bottom three.

I can't believe I'm saynig this, I agree with OT and I absolutely agree with everything Liz said, especially the part about Trenyce's finger tapping and Clay's vocal strength. I also think that Carmen did well and don't understand why they're slamming her so badly. I felt bad for Josh, his weaknesses are starting to show through.

In case I wasn't clear - my bottom three are Trenyce, Josh and Carmen, with Trenyce going bye-bye.

Btw, we still know more about Kimberly Locke than we do Trenyce. At least we know she wants to be a lawyer. What do we really know about Trenyce other than the arrest thing?

I must agree with Lizzie on what happened to Big Band, Jazz like last year. It seems that week after week we are all subjected to the same style and it is getting quite boring. This reminds me o all the hype and frenzy that “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” caused when it first came on, everyone was talking about it. Where is the show now? Watch out AI you could travel the same path in the near future. It really is a shame because it is a good show without using sex as a gimmick to attract the audience.

Last night:

Kim Locke – bbbboooorrriiiinnnnggggg – I really do not get it. She sounded ok last night but enough of the Celine songs. Really there is no difference between her and Treynece, only Kim has more appeal. Would I buy her album – NO

Clay – I thought that he sounded the best last night. What is wrong with sounding Broadwayish? Nothing, you only wish that you could sign someone with such a strong voice. Next time he sings try closing your eyes. The man has a smooth voice like Sir Elton or that guy from Boyzone (what ever they are called) I believe that with the right songs he will be the hottest ticket out of all of them. The man has charisma, he is your everyday guy and he has a set of lungs. (Ok enough tapping into my feminine side) - Would I buy his album – YES.

Treynece – not worth my time – NO

Josh – said above already – B side to Celebration. The man must be a complete moron, what was he thinking, he already dodged one bullet with Celebration. Would I buy his album – if he stuck to country style – Maybe

Carmen – thought that she was no worse than Kim Locke. Will get the sympathy votes. Buy her album – Maybe

Ruben – honestly, it was painful to my ears last night. Thought he sucked, sounded equal to Josh and was a major disappointment. The man can only do Barry White to me and all the power to him for that. Put his voice against Clay and Clay destroys him every time, Ruben’s is weak unless he’s doing Barry. I thought that my screen was going to crack when Ruben was singing. Does the name Corey Clark ring a bell, because I thought that was him last night waving his left hand around. – Would I but his album – NO

Bottom 3 – Treynece, Kim L, Carmen

Bye – Bye - Kim Locke
:smooth:

Hmmmm...Before I make my picks...I just have to say that Dianne Warren is an extremely talented songwriter...but as a judge...she brings nothing to the table....

Anyway...I agree with liz...we need a genre where there are no ballads...then things would get interesting....

OK...now the picks...
Bottom 3
Josh
Carmen
Trenyce

Now....as much as I want Trenyce to get the big 'ol boot...I agree with AP...I think this is the week that Carmen gets voted off...nothing against her performance...she just did nothing for me last night (though if Trenyce goes...I'll be more than happy to be wrong :))

I TOTALLY agree with Jas here...I am getting tired of all of their sounds...NONE of them have the diversity that Kelly Clarkson has.

....that being said, THAT is exactly the reason WHY Kelly won the first round - SHE is the true American Idol - not these guys...IMHO - these guys will always be second to her...

I also totally agree with Lizzie - the Big Band week was IMO the best show last season.

As for Kim L...I think its the fake laugh that she has that I can NOT handle...ick...

Has anyone else noticed that Clay has really toned down the annoying facial expressions that Simon ragged on him about? I'd say that was a definite improvement. Last night was one of his better performances. He was expressive without looking "Broadway". Speaking of which, I agree with Liz (not just about dear Julia), that if you can cut it on Broadway, you're a better singer/performer than most. I think it all depends on the rather fuzzy definition of "pop", especially since pop is a constantly changing thing. If you were to say pop is the current, most popular music genre, then shouldn't all be rapping or singing hip hop out there?

Definitely Ruben's weakest performance. Although I don't think he's a Barry White wannabe at all. He doesn't go that low. Ruben is a Luther Vandross wannabe. Close your eyes and listen to him...it's Luther. And now that Luther's singing future is in jeopardy, Ruben has an open spot.

While I agree with Randy and Simon, Carmen can't win this, that's just a dumb comment to make. I can only think they did that to excite her fans and maybe push her to try even harder. But they should have said that weeks ago, not after her best performance. What do they expect her to do, volunteer to be eliminated? Not try anymore?

Poor Josh. That was bad. Who sucked him into singing that song anyway? And Simon's comments are again, stupid. He tells everyone else to change it up, show your range and versatility. He gives kudos to Ruben and Trenyce for trying that. Yet when Josh tries to do it, he gives him crap about sticking to country. ***? Big Band might suit him well...he DID sound kind of Sinatra-ish on his audition.

Trenyce's best performance was Let's Stay Together on the Motown show. I thought she was a contender then. But everything else she's done is totally forgettable. And she might THINK she's a Whitney, but the only time there's any similarity is when she's pushing it hard (and the annoying mike tapping which I hadn't noticed). Trenyce can't sing ballads or softly. Here I think Simon is right...all we've seen is a mask...a Whitney Houston mask.

Is there someone else?? LOL, I think that pretty much sums it up. Kimberley does nothing for me either. I wish they'd put her first every night, then I wouldn't have to worry about missing the first few minutes of every show.

BTW, our Madonna is going to be on TV. Let's see if she starts trouble on Will and Grace like she does here.

hey, hey - I resemble that comment! BTW - am I the only one who has listened to my new album?!? Now THAT is the sound of an American Idol!!

The album is so NOT Kimberly Locke...

Oh and:
And now that Luther's singing future is in jeopardy, Ruben has an open spot.
ROTFLMF-BO!!!!!!:teeth:

I think it would be interesting to have the judges pick the song that each contender performs, according to their own styles and strengths.

That might be a good idea. I wonder what they'd pick.

I would love to hear Clay do " The Music of the Night " from Phantom or "This is the Moment" from Jekyll and Hyde. Yes I know Broadway, but these are fantastic songs for strong vocals.

I just read on idolfan.org that April 29th show will be American Love songs. bluchhhh.

Oh Lizzie, my Colour Guru ;) you took the words right out of my mouth.

Would "I used to love her but I had to Kill her" be considered an American Love song:rolleyes:

Last season when it came down to Kelly and Justin, AI had them sing "A Moment Like This" (as they knew that this song would be the first recorded and released by the winner)

Why not let them sing whatever the song is going to be now?!? - I mean if this season; the song is anything like *Miss. Independant* - then we can wish Josh buh-bye right now...

Lizzie, did you see Jekyll and Hyde before it closed on Broadway??

I wish I had. I loved that musical. Tried to get to it, but it seems like I was always pregnant. (my last two are two years apart) Then we moved to NJ from Long Island and haven't made it back to NY since.

I did see the HBO telecast of it with David Hasselhoff. He surprised me. He was very good.

That song "This is the moment" has such a vocal range to it. I think Clay would be perfect to sing it.

And I thought those two songs they made them sing for the final last year were totally suited for Kelly and didn't give Justin a chance. I think she did a great job with those songs, considering they weren't great songs.

I remember listening to them the first time they sang them on the air and saying, ewww. They couldn't come up with anything better???
